Description

Louise “Lulu” Kingsley is thrilled to discover after years of wishing for a sibling, Cami Chandler is her half-sister. When Cami invites her to live with her at Chandler Hill, Lulu jumps at the chance to leave behind all the heartache in her recent life. Not the spoiled little rich girl the media would like everyone to think, Lulu digs into marketing for the inn and winery, feeling more comfortable there than she ever did in California with her political father. Better yet, her mother is becoming a stronger, happier person and shares the idea of becoming part of a new family. Even though Lulu is aware that Miguel Lopez is the kind of guy who represents everything she’s trying to forget, she’s attracted to him. Following a heartbreaking situation, she steps away from their relationship. Lulu settles in at Chandler Hill, coping the best way she knows—by working hard. But when Cami’s beloved grandfather, Rafe, has a stroke, Lulu realizes life is short and knows she must make things right with Miguel, and learns that home is where your heart leads you.

Complementary copy for hones review and opinion. I enjoyed this romance. Some of the text was hard to follow but it was a sweet book. Public shame of your parents but a hard spin on Lulu's life. I loved watching her fall in love. I would recommend this to others.

Thanks goes the publisher and Net-Galley for the complimentary copy of Home at Last by Judith Keim. I have read this women’s fiction novel with strong romantic elements for the purpose of expressing my view and opinions which are not influenced in any way.

Home at Home is the third book in Ms. Keim’s Chandler Hill Inn series. I read the first two books and enjoyed them immensely, so I couldn’t wait to read Home at Last. This novel reunites two half-sisters, who have only recently discovered each other.

The writing pulled me in right away and kept me engaged until the end. The character development is solid, and the plot is unique. While I’m glad I read Home at Last, it wasn’t as amazing as the other two were, but still an excellent book.

Louise Kingsley, aka Lulu, character has many aspects of her personality I enjoyed, but there were a few I found annoying. She vacillates quite a lot between which man she wants. I’m not a huge fan of love triangles so that may have affected my overall enjoyment a touch. She has reason to fall back on the tried and true she’s known from her political father. Also, she has good reason to have concerns regarding faithfulness in a relationship. My issue came from her back and forth from one to other.

Miguel Lopez is our hero and I enjoyed his character a great deal. He’s a loyal grandson and friend. His issues aren’t as involved as the heroine’s. He easily attracts women, and has, since his teenage years. This causes unnecessary flags raised in Lulu’s mind. He isn’t a “lady killer” he’s just an engaging man, who he appeals to females with little effort. He’s an all-around good guy, willing to extend his hand of friendship.

The romance isn’t the strong focus of this book, and that’s easy to see from the first. Although that’s not to say it’s a lovely love story. Lulu’s issues and problems and learning to live with them and resolve them is the central premise. She is getting to know her sister, and she has a complex relationship with her mother. Her father was a womanizer. All these issues are enough to affect her life. I’m happy to say I enjoyed her resolutions.

If you’re looking for a novel that deals with real-life issues with intricate relationships, then you will enjoy Home at Last as much as I. I’m so glad I found Ms. Keim’s novels and look forward to reading future books by her. Happy reading!

I read and thoroughly enjoyed Coming Home by Keim which introduced me to the loving and supportive community of Chandler Hill Inn and Winery. This book did not disappoint and stands on its own. Cami, the owner of Chandler Hill Inn, has welcomed Lulu; a sister she did not know she had. Lulu works at the inn marketing the wonderful venue for parties and weddings as well as short term stays. She must decide whether to help her friend with his political campaign which might lead to becoming a politicians’ wife. Reliving the memories of that life with her father before he died might be too much pressure. Should she move back to be with her mother who has many health issues? Is she strong enough to venture into a love relationship with one of the other wine owners? The events in the book are realistic and insightful, the characters are fun to get to know, and this book is a fast read.

It was nice returning to Chandler Hill Inn to revisit the beautiful location and the characters that live and/or work there. This book focused on Lulu, the half-sister of Cami, where she tries to get to know her new family better and to get to know her mother better after the death of her father. It's a heartwarming read with learning to forgive, finding love, and a place that feels like home. It's an enjoyable, feel good read. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I’m fortunate enough to when been able to read all of the books in this wonderful series. The first one was one of my all time favorite books. The story touched me. Each one since has been just as wonderful. I have enjoyed reading the journey of this family and all the characters that are a part of this series through the years. This book was wonderful to see two half sisters discover each other and get a chance to build their relationship. We got to read Cami’s story in book two and it was really cool to get her half sister, Lulu’s story in this book so people could see there is more to her than perceived. I’m grateful to Judith Keim, the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC to read in exchange for my honest review.

Lulu is settling in at the Chandler Hill Inn after being invited by her newly-discovered half-sister, Cami. After a life of living her father's politics, she is ready to be away from the spotlight and his scandal. Lulu found she loves taking pictures and working the marketing aspect of the Inn and Winery. She also catches of the eye of Miguel, but, after a brief encounter, finds she needs to step back. Lulu's mother has a setback that causes a return home. which happened to be be good timing for Lulu to get away and deal with everything that is piling on her plate. During that time, she meets with William, the guy her father wanted her to marry. That encounter makes her realize that California was no longer her home and she needed to get back to Chandler Inn where she feels she now belongs. Lulu now has a nickname "Weezie" that she uses when people recognize her from the political scene, a place she wants to forget. Lulu now knows she is home to stay and she would deal with Miguel and tell him the truth. Things happen for a reason and Lulu is finding that out as she settles into her new life. Thanks to Mrs. Keim, Wild Quail Publishing, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Home At Last is the third book in Judith Keim’s Chandler Hill Series. In this book we find that Louise (Lulu) Kingsley has joined her half-sister Cami Chandler working at the Chandler Hill Inn and Winery in marketing and filling in wherever she is needed. As she makes connections with the other series characters, she finds a strong attraction to Cami’s cousin, Miguel Lopez, which takes her down the rabbit hole.

After a passionate night with Miguel, Lulu receives an urgent call to return to Southern California as her mother has suffered an overdose. Leaving immediately and being away for some time, Miguel prepares to leave for Chile where he will work with a sister winery to learn what he can to bring back to the trio of wineries the family group has in the Willamette Valley. This separation is not conducive to the growth of this budding relationship.

While helping her mother gain strength and purpose, Lulu also finds her own and returns to Oregon where her mother, Rosalie, joins her for the holidays. Rosalie becomes enamored with the area and the people in Lulu’s new family, and makes plans for her return. Lulu, still distraught from her congressman father’s death and the secrets uncovered as a result, finds herself in a precarious position after the holidays, but focuses herself on helping others, especially her mother.

This is a very interesting series and an easy read. With great settings and rich characters, this series will entice those fond of the genre. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!

This is the third book of the Chandler Hill Inn Series, and if you have read and enjoyed the other stories in the series, this one rounds it out nicely. This story has a mix of stories from the previous books, and also some new ones adding their stories. The Chandler Inn is thriving under Cami's management, and the Inn has become a wedding destination, and the wineries are producing great wines. The story checks in with Rafe and some of the characters from the first 2 books, but this is really Lulu's story.

Lulu's life has been upended with the death of her father and the scandal that rocked his political career. Lulu has connected with her half-sister Cami, and is starting to build a relationship with her. She is also helping her mother pick up the pieces of her shattered heart and build a new life.

This book could be enjoyed if you have not read the others, but I think you would enjoy it more if you have read the other three. This is a bit of romance in this book,, but I would categorize it as more the ongoing saga of a family trying to make the best of the trials and tribulations that have been thrown their way.

I received a copy of this book through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

I will leave a review on Amazon or B&N on April 13th. 2020

Home At Last is the 3rd book in the Chandler Hill series, and I have enjoyed each and every one of these books. The characters in the book are wonderful and I have enjoyed watching them grow as a family, I hope this isn't the last book of the series. I would definitely recommend this book to those that enjoy a HEA.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of the book from NetGalley and the publisher and this is my fair and honest review.

This is the 3rd book in the Chandler Hill Inn series and this was a story that tugged at my heartstrings and many times brought tears to my eyes.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Judith Keim for an honest review so I am going to tell you what I think. You can read what the book is about so I won't tell the story but there is so much more to the story than you think. Lulu's mother suffered from depression and Lulu thought she had to be responsible for her. Depression is a serious condition and so many people suffer from it. Having a mother who suffered from it, I liked what the doctor told Lulu when her mother tried killing herself again. You aren't responsible for your mother, she is responsible for herself. She could be there for her mother but it was going to be all up to her mother. They have new medications that he was going to try and see what happens.
Lulu's father was always away so she didn't know who he was as a man but after he passed away, she discovered who he was and she also discovered she had a half-sister. We see Lulu trying to distance herself as his daughter and finding her own identity.
Lulu thought all men were like her father and she would never find the love that she saw others had. You will have to read the book to find out how that works out.
The book is about relationships, building dreams, and carrying on with what was passed down to you.
So many people are struggling with different things today and I don't know if this was Judith's intentions when she wrote. I don't think so but the book but for me was, no matter how low she felt, or what she was going through, she found a way to keep on living her life. She found her sister, her mother, a new family and the love of them all. There is so much to this book and as I am writing my review, we are in social distancing. On April 13, it is being released and what a great way to stay connected to your friends by you all reading this book and talking about it. I think everyone takes something different from the books they read and can't wait for my friends to read it so we can talk about it. If we can be together when the book comes out, it is still a book for you and your friends to read.

I was given the pleasure of reading and reviewing this third installment of the people of the Chandler Inn. As with the other books, this one was full of strong, special people. It was nice to know that Lettie and Rafe were together once again, and they all got their happily ever afters.

This book was gifted to me by NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Excellent story from one of my favorite authors. The characters and situations are real. It maintains the same caliber of home as the first and second book in the series.. Again, I can't wait for another novel from this author. Hopefully this won't be the last of this series.
