CC and Holly were a sweet couple with a young love abruptly halted when Holly broke Curtis's heart. Her fears of living on the road and not pursuing her own dreams trumped open communication and caused years of heartache. Later on, when these two reunite, Holly still gives in to the same fears without talking or being honest. Yeah, she was a little annoying.

Thankfully, she becomes rational and opens her mind and heart.

I thought this was a good story, even though Holly irked me. There was so much attention to the Nascar scene and Holly's job that I loved. These people were amazing in the story. Loved the ending.

Good book. I really liked the female character Holly, but I did think when it came to CC she was kind of wishy washy. Lots of back and forth that became repetitive. She as supposed to be smart, so I felt she should have figured stuff out faster.

Holly Nicholson has finally put down roots. As a child she moved from town to town, and country to country with her parents. Now she is settled and has a home and a thriving vet clinic. She is content, engaged and all is well until she runs into her old flame Curtis Clark. Can she forget the sparks and the love they once shared?

Curtis Clark was a Nascar race driver until his team folded, so he is back home doing construction jobs around town and trying to find his way back to the track. Everything is starting to settle until he runs into Holly at a ranch owned by their friends. He has not forgotten the love they shared or their breakup, but can they be just friends?

Holly and Curtis seem to run into each other again and again. They both do not know what to do with the feelings they still have for each other. When Holly’s engagement seems like it might end, will they take another chance at love?

I adored this story of second chances. The characters were very well written and you can’t help but want to see Holly and Curtis find their happily ever after. This is the third book in the series, but the author Sedona Hutton does a brilliant job of filling you in on the back stories of all the supporting characters. I also loved that the book dealt with the difficulties couples face today such as long distance relationships, traveling for work, and raising a family. I am looking forward to going back to read the first books in the series.

Thank you so much to the author Sedona Hutton, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! All opinions expressed for this review are unbiased and entirely my own.

Holly Nicholson has always wanted to put roots down somewhere. Now a veterinarian she has moved back to the town where she spent most of her childhood. Buying the old vets house and practice she is excited about the new start she is also engaged to a doctor, so for her everything is going well. That is until she sees Curtis “CC” Clark her high school sweetheart and how everyone thought she would have ended up with. Now here he is working on the fence of the place she just bought and still looking good, better than good.
CC is back home after ten years on the NASCAR truck series and after his team owner decided to fold. Now trying to decide what to do he is back working with his father and brother in their construction business. He still wants to race through. His heart stops several beats though when he sees Holly the one woman he has always loved. He begins with still blaming her for their break up. Later in the book, he is apologizing for it to her. Especially when he hears why she broke up with her fiance.
Holly still wants to be with “CC” what she does not want is the travel and moving around. She wants one place especially after he starts driving with a team and what she starts doing is pulling away. She thinks her only solution to the issue is not to be with him instead of finding a way to make it work since all he is asking is for her to be open, they both need to give a little. Read this good story to see what happens. There are moments where I felt this drag a little other than that it was good.

Back in High School Curtis "CC" Clark left the small town behind and went truck racing with NASCAR but he left Holly Nicholson behind.
Coming home after losing his ride he began realizing what was important in his life and Holly went straight to the top.
Holly had always loved animals and she was living the job she wanted be a big animal Vet and having her own business when Curtis walked back into her life it shifted and through everything she thought she wanted of kilter.
Very good book!

This was a fun, quick read! Like-able characters and an easily flowing story line. CC and Holly are simply meant for each other and I loved watching their story unfold.

Apparently, this book is the third installment in a series, which I did not know about when I started it. Thankfully, it seemed to serve as a stand alone book well enough.

A great story for contemporary romance lovers- and bonus points if you're into racing, too. CC and Holly were such likable characters and I found myself rooting for both of their happily ever afters. It was a feel-good story of second chances. The setting and chemistry were excellent. I loved the story arc of Holly's career and time at the animal shelter. And getting an inside look at the world of NASCAR was a treat, too.
