Description

Gabriela Marquez came to her parents’ homeland of Venezuela to help its people. Working undercover for the CIA as Sister María, a Franciscan nun, she spends long days at the mission, giving food to the poor, helping the sick—and keeping a close watch on local drug trafficking. When a violent raid makes her a hostage together with two American journalists, she finds herself the prisoner of the very cartel she’s been spying on. Fortunately for the journalists—but not so luckily for her captors—Sister María is not what she seems to be. Hiding behind her nun’s habit, Gabriela puts her training to use to ensure the hostages’ survival.

Dylan Cruz spent the better part of a decade with Seal Team Six, ridding the world of scum. Now an operative with Cobra International Security, he’s sent to Venezuela with a small team to gather intel for a hostage rescue. Against all expectations, he gets valuable information from one of the hostages—a beautiful young nun. Sister María of the Gorgeous Brown Eyes puts R-rated thoughts in his mind, thoughts he has no business thinking. Then again, he always figured he’d end up in hell.

When the rescue fails, Dylan finds himself trapped in hostile territory with lovely Sister María. Together, they go underground to reach the Colombian border, but Sister María is full of secrets—and enticing surprises. Beneath that shapeless, gray habit is a woman whose abilities—and passions—are a match for Dylan’s. As the desire between them ignites, what should have been a straightforward mission of evade-and-escape turns into a fight for survival against a murderous cartel boss who wants them both dead.

4.5 starts

Another great Cobra Elite novel. I think Dylan fell in love with her from just looking at her picture. Gabriela was a serious bad arse woman. She helps the Cobra team rescue the hostages while putting herself in harms way again and again. There are lots of near misses on the way out of the country, plus lots of hot sex. Can't wait to see who falls next.

This is the fourth book in this fascinating series by Ms. Clare. Dylan Cruz, former SEAL, and members of the Cobra Elite are setting off on a secret mission to Venezuela. Two Americans and a nun have been taken hostage and the Americans are being held for ransom. Gabriela Marquez “aka Sister Maria Catalina” has been working undercover for the CIA and as a “nun” may be able to protect the hostages. The action is non-stop as Dylan and his team set up a rescue, but things don’t always go as planned. He and Sister Maria will need to fight for their lives and make their way to safety. After Dylan realizes that Sister Maria is actually Gabriela, there is no stopping the red-hot attraction. As danger follows them, Dylan can count on Gabriela to have his back. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

I really enjoyed this story. Dylan and Gabriela both have secrets and layers, and some awful circumstances brought them together. They both need to trust each other and themselves to get off of so many radars that’s it’s hard to figure out which end is up or who to believe. But I’d they want to survive, they’ll have to work together to make it out of the mess they’re in, and if they happen to find serious attraction and maybe even love along the way, then maybe it’s all been worth the stress and worry.

I didn’t realize until I started this book that it’s part of a series, but that didn’t keep me from knowing all of the important players, nor did I find myself lost among subplots. There were a few “Spanish” words that aren’t truly Spanish, but the author was close enough to the actual word that it didn’t bother me too much. Overall, she provided a very good read that kept me on my toes from start to finish.

This is the romantic suspense book I have been waiting to read! It is pretty much non-stop action from start to finish. I also loved that most of the tension in Gabi and Dylan's relationship comes from outside and the tension from their past and between them is resolved by them actually (gasp) talking!

Gabi is a CIA operative in deep cover as a nun in a Venezuela. She is trying to find a solid connection between a drug cartel and the Venezuelan government. She gets caught up in a kidnapping of American journalists by the minions of a very nasty relative of the current Venezuelan president. She is smart and a gifted actress. She works every angle and continues to find advantages as she works to help the hostages while still getting the information she needs for her mission.

Dylan is a former Navy Seal who has some serious trust issues. He is extremely skilled and a man of action. He is sent in with a team to rescue the hostages and get separated from the rest of the team when a bad guy tries to leave with Gabi.

That is where their adventure takes off. Both of them are impressive - and have complementary skills. I think the action in the book was exciting and over-the-top (just the way I like it!) and the romance is sexy and emotionally charged.

This is a great read and well worth the time for fans of romantic suspense. This isn't the first book in the series - but you can 100% read it as a standalone.

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley but these opinions are all my own.

When I think of Romantic Suspense, Pamela Clare is usually at the top of that list. I hadn't read anything by her in awhile so when an opportunity to read Hard Edge came up, I jumped on it. This story follows Gabi, a CIA operative undercover as a nun in Venezuela, and Dylan who is part of the Cobra team sent there to rescue her and two American reporters that have been abducted. I found the book entertaining and enjoyable. I wanted more buildup and tension between Gabi and Dylan but I liked how they worked together and that the action in the book was essentially non-stop. While this was not my favorite from Clare, she is still a great story-teller and I would be happy to read another from her again.

This book deserves a "wow"! I like all of Pamela Clare's books and I love several of them. This falls into the latter category. Gabi is a CIA agent who is deep undercover working an operation in Venezuela. Her cover is that is Sr. Maria Catalina, a nun who works serving the poor. Sr. Maria is kidnapped while in the company of two US journalists. Dylan Cruz works for a private security company, Cobra International and he's part of the team tasked with rescuing the three hostages.

Dylan is captivated when he first sees a picture of Sr. Maria, and he's pretty uncomfortable with looking at a nun that way. Hard Edge takes the reader on a wild ride through a couple of countries starting with the first time Gabi meets Dylan until their HEA. The first three-quarters of the book is a solid 5-stars but it loses half a star imho because the last quarter dragged a bit. The story is well-edited and well-told with very interesting characters. Cobra doesn't know about Gabi's cover and their kind treatment of Sr. Maria is heartwarming. The Cobra brotherhood is as strong as in the other books in this series. Gabi is amazing, has a strong moral compass, and no one should underestimate her. Dylan grows to respect her brain and her savvy making them a well matched couple. The bedroom scenes, which happen when important info has been disclosed, are scorching hot but not over the top. <Swoon, sigh.> The nun angle added an unexpected nuance to the book and I appreciate the sensitive manner in which the author handles prayer. I also appreciate that Gabi was all woman when the habit came off. I completely enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Thanks to NetGalley for gifting me an ARC, but this is one that I'll buy in order to support the author.

Gabriela is a CIA agent undercover as a nun in Venezuela. She works in a mission feeding the poor and spying on a drug cartel. While protecting a journalist and her photographer from the Andes Cartel, they all get taken. Dylan is a former SEAL but now works for Cobra International Security and is one of the guys sent on recon to where three American hostages are held. But when it goes sideways, Dylan and Gabriela are on their own running from the cartel. Dylan was burned once by a woman but the second he sees Gabriela, he knows she’s special but he believes she’s a nun so that’s a big no no. They must get to Colombia before the cartel gets to them first.
Great story with action and sex. Two people trying to escape a drug cartel and fight their feelings toward each other. Another story with will take you away from all that’s happening.

I absolutely love a heroine who can kick some serious butt. While Gabriela is young and newish to her job, I loved how brave, calm and steady she was in the face of danger. I am so happy the author gave her more of a role in the danger scenes as well. I wanted to see her in action and I got that.

Gabriela being tough did not take away from Dylan being just as tough. I enjoyed seeing how Dylan and his team worked together to stakeout and rescue. I thought the author did a great job of making that an exciting part of the story.

I thought Gabriela and Dylan were a great match. I didn't particularly like their first intimacy together only because it felt a bit cold. Dylan has betrayal in his past and that worked heavily in his approach to his interest in Gabriela. It did make sense to his character.

Each book has the same vibe with exciting plots while still being unique to themselves. I don't feel like I am reading the same book over and over. I'm really enjoying this whole series and hope there are many more to come.

I love this author's kick arse heroines. Sister Maria was not what she seemed as Dylan would soon find out.
I was glued to this book and couldn't wait for each chapter to continue the story. Plenty of action and heartstopping moments.
I also learned various Spanish swearwords lol.
Great plot and wonderful characters, I highly recommend this book.

When is the last time you've read a book that featured a CIA agent undercover as a nun? I'm guessing never! Once again, Pamela Clare has delivered a fantastic romantic suspense novel in the Cobra series. This book can totally be read as a stand alone. It features two great main characters, one the undercover nun and the other the operative sent in to rescue her. I like that while Gabriella is a woman that can fend for herself, she is not a hard-edged agent. After all she has been posing as a nun for over a year. Nor is Dylan someone unable to ask for help when needed. Together they make a great team as they try to escape the cartels and maybe find love on the way. Just like other books I've read by Pamela Clare, once you start reading, you get sucked into the action and it is difficult to put the book down.

First of all I have to agree with what another reviewer said This is a book where you are imparted with information so you are learning without even realising it as you whizz through a book that grabs you from almost the first poage and never lets you Go I have read all of the Cobra Elite books and have loved every one of them and this latest offering was no exception

Dylan Cruz and his team mates are on a highly classifies mission to Venezuela they have to rescue two journalists held captive When the mission goes pear shaped Dylan is left behind by his crew along with a American nun Sister Maria but is she who she seems to be no in fact she is Gabriella Marquez, an undercover CIA operative who has returned to her parents homeland on a mission to track local drug traffickers. Now Dylan and Gabriella must work together as they try to cross the border to safety and all the time Dylan is fighting his lust for a nun until the secret is spilled Can they survive when the cartel is hot on their trail.

Full review to be published online in early June.

The fourth book in Pamela Clare’s intriguing ‘Cobra Elite’ series, HARD EDGE was another great read, with what felt like an authenticity for the situation. The main characters, Gabrielle and Dylan, were well rounded and interesting, the plot fun, and the sexy scenes were steaming hot. With Pamela Clare you know that you will always get a great RS/Romance read.

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down, nonstop action and heroics with a side of some super sexy romance.

Gabriela is an undercover CIA agent in Venezuela. She is acting as a nun and jumps in when two reporters are kidnapped for ransom. She is kidnapped with them.

Dylan is a former SEAL now working for Cobra and is sent in with his team to rescue the hostages.

Gabriela is able to help the rescue, but she and Dylan are separated from the others and have to make their own way to Columbia to be taken back to the US.

Gabriela and Dylan have to escape drug lords, corrupt government officials and more. It was so good, I loved her I-Team books so much and I think this series is even better.

With her latest story, Pamela Clare delivers a hooking tale presented to readers on electrifying roller coaster ride with big side of steamy sexiness.

Gabriela Marquez’s first solo mission as a CIA operative was working as an undercover nun in Venezuela. Her objective was to get proof that a political person of interest from Venezuela had strong ties with the biggest Colombian drug cartel. But when a raid threatens to take two US journalists hostage she hopelessly tries to intervene make herself a hostage as well. Can she maintain her cover, finish her assignment and help get the hostages free?

Ex-Navy SEAL Dylan Cruz is no stranger to dangerous situations. Being sent to appraise a hostage situation in a foreign country should be a walk in the park especially when the gorgeous nun keeps giving them actionable intel.

When the rescue goes sideways though, and he finds himself stuck in enemy territory alongside the tempting Sister, they must work together to cross the Columbian border. As their situation gets more dangerous by the minute and Gabriela is allowed to reveal herself, the attraction between them burns with hot with desire, but can they avoid getting caught by the man who wants them dead?

Gabriela was a kickass heroine. She’s incredibly brave, smart and cool while facing the barrel of a gun and was the perfect match for Dylan who is tough and protective.

The suspense is nerve-wracking and the romance is scorching hot, which is why I love going back to the Cobra Elite group again and again. Pamela Clare expertly balances the tempting chemistry and romance with the escalating danger full of action. While Gabriela and Dylan try to evade murderous criminals in hostile territory, they also provocatively explore their desire. Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down.

Hard Edge is book #4 of the Cobra Elite series by author Pamela Clare. It’s written from both points of view with a happy ending.

I love this series. It's filled with adventure, suspense and romance. The men are charming but deadly and the women smart and dangerous.
Hard Edge is no exception. I was drawn into this action packed read immediately. Gaby and Dylan are perfect together running through Venezuela trying to escape the country.
They had an immediate connection but couldn't act on it. This tension between them worked. It helped bring this couple together.
I also liked how they worked together and used their specialized skills to get them out of a jamb added to my like of the book.
I'm looking forward to reading more about this goup!

Sister Maria Catalina is in Venezuela at a poor mission doing her best to help feed and care for the people there, and, to keep a sharp eye on the drug trafficking in the area. Her "real" boss is actually the CIA and Gabriela Marquez is as passionate about her secret mission as she is about her cover mission. When two American journalists are about to be kidnapped she doesn't hesitate to defend them and gets taken too. Now she has to find a way get them all rescued.

Former Navy SEAL, Dylan Cruz, is now an operative with Cobra International Security and has been tasked with the rescue of Sister Maria and the journalists. He and his team are way, way undercover in this op and are amazed when the beautiful sister supplies them with the intel necessary to pull off the extraction. Then it all goes FUBAR when Sister Maria and Dylan are separated from the others an miss their helo ride out.

Being on the run with a beautiful woman is not what Dylan had in mind and the "nun" is causing havoc in his mind, and other body parts. He is going to hell, for sure. When Gabriela is forced to revel her expert training and real identity, Dylan is not sure he can trust her, but their survival is dependent on that. Evade and escape and hot, passionate nights cause them to depend on each other and even kill for each other.

I was completely exhausted by the time I finished this book - and it had nothing to do with staying up until 2AM to finish it. I’m finding that happens whenever I read Pamela Clare because the action is non-stop, pretty much from page one...until done!

CIA agent Gabriela Marquez has spent two years working undercover as a nun, working to take down cartels and a corrupt Venezuelan government. But her intel-gathering operation goes awry when she gets herself kidnapped along with an American journalist and her cameraman.

Cobra International Securities is called in to extract the three hostages. Unfortunately, their intricately planned rescue mission also goes awry and Cobra team member Dylan Cruz gets left behind with “Sister Maria” - who is far too good looking and way more capable at evading capture than he can believe. Their journey to get out of Venezuela and to a safe extraction point is heartstopping, breathtaking, and incredibly steamy!

Of all the romance genres, romantic suspense is my favorite. But it’s also the hardest to please me with - because I want equal parts of romance AND suspense. Ms. Clare has absolutely NAILED IT with this Cobra Elite series. As I said, the action starts on page one and doesn’t let up until the very end. And not only is the romance part plenty of steamy, it’s also pretty believable. I love how Dylan and Gabriela bond over their shared badass-ness, and that even though Dylan has some reservations about getting into a relationship, a couple of honest conversations get his head straightened out. Ms. Clare writes about adults who behave like adults and it’s freaking GREAT.

I love this series, can’t wait to read more, and hope there are a dozen of them!!!

Hard Edge is a fast paced and gripping page turner, with strong likable characters, a captivating plot, that just leaves you wanting to read more.

4.25 stars-HARD EDGE is the fourth instalment in Pamela Clares contemporary, adult COBRA ELITE erotic, military, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Cobra International Security. This is former US Navy SEAL Dylan Cruz, and undercover CIA agent Gabriela Marquezs story line. HARD EDGE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dylan and Gabriela) HARD EDGE follows in the wake of the rescue of two American journalist, and their fellow captive Sister Maria, from the Venezuelan cartel. Gabriela Marquez (aka Sister Maria) has worked undercover in Venezuela for close to eighteen months but her abduction and that of two American journalists has forced the CIA to call in outside help. Enter Dylan Cruz, a member of the Cobra International Security Team and the man with whom Gabriela will fall in love. What ensues is the rescue of, and cross country journey between Gabriela and Dylan, and the potential fall-out as our couple remain the target of some very powerful men, and Dylans inability to commit towards a future or happily ever after.

Gabriela Marquez knows a thing or two about going undercover but never expected to find herself the victim of an abduction, with her life hanging in the balance. Disguised as a nun, Gabriela remained in character until threats against Dylan Cruz meant Gabriela had to reveal just enough to arouse suspicion. Dylan Cruz’s attraction to Gabriela Marquez in the guise of Sister Maria was immediate but Dylan struggled with job at hand. Saving the life of the woman with whom Dylan would fall in love, our hero found himself on the receiving end of torture and threats, until said woman said the life of his own, in return.

The relationship between Dylan and Gabriela is one of immediate attraction but Gabriela was off limits in more ways than one. Dylan Cruz doesn’t do relationships having been burned in the past but something about Gabriela melted the ice surrounding his heart. Upon their safe return to America, Gabriela was willing to walk away knowing Dylan believed he wasn’t worthy of love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include journalists Dianne Connelly, and Tim Yang, several local Venezuelan and Columbian residents, as well as numerous members of the local cartels. We are reintroduced to Derek Tower, one of the co-owners of Cobra International Security.

HARD EDGE is a story of resilience, betrayal, survival, rescue and love. The premise is fast paced and engaging; the romance is seductive; the characters are strong, energetic and dynamic. HARD EDGE is a hard hitting, and heart pounding addition to the Cobra Elite series.

Hard Edge is crazy good and Clare gifts us with a female who is a total badass. Gabriela and Dylan fit together and I hope to see more from them in the future. The author's writing style lends a cinematic vibe to her books and she feels you from the first page.

Gabriella and Dylan are such fascinating characters. There is a lot of action and suspense in this book. This is book number 4 but it’s a standalone. I did not read the previous three books and had no problems reading this book. The author did a wonderful job with character development and setting the scene. I enjoyed this book very much! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Dylan and COBRA think that this newest mission is just a quick grab of a couple of abducted journalists and a have-a-go-hero Nun who tried to stop the abduction. But there is far more going on than meets the eye.

Gabriela (aka Sister Maria) may a green CIA agent but she is uniquely talented for this particular role. She really didn't mean to get snatched but she couldn't stand by and do nothing when someone was being abducted. Now she has to use all her trade craft, common sense and ingenuity to keep them alive until help arrives.

Dylan finds himself adrift from his team during the rescue and its up to him to get Sister Maria and himself to safety. Along the way he realises that this Nun ain't no nun and it seems his weird attraction to the young nun may just be reciprocated!

Gabriela and Dylan were equally badass! Gabriela may lack first hand fighting experience but she is a mini power house. Dylan may be all gung-ho action hero come to life but he has a sweet centre. He's been burned by love and team-mates before but he still finds the strength to try romance once more - even if his timing could be better LOL.

I love this diverse and dynamic team of operatives! I'd be happy to wake up beside any of them but as always a certain Scotsman (see book 3) will always have my heart!

Hard Edge starts off with everything reader love about Romantic Suspense novels but soon ends up with the two never leaving their hotel room, falling in lust and when the action picks back up it pulls readers in keeping them locked and loaded. The ending is predictable. The author tries hard to get readers to connect to Gabriela families and the loss she has experienced but it falls just short of what readers might have wanted.

The story is a quick fast hot read for those looking for something yummy next to the pool side but make sure your kids are not looking over your shoulders.

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for a copy of Pamela Clare Hard Edge.

3.5 stars for this fast-paced adventure. The plot of this one is really intriguing, and the storytelling is implemented well. It's clear the author has done her homework and/or has the background knowledge to not only make this believable but educate readers on the turmoil in Venezuela. I didn't feel much of a connection with or between the characters in this one, but that might just be my disconnect from life in general right now. I liked Gabriela and Dylan, but I was more invested in the story than in the two of them together. That being said, the story is captivating, and I definitely recommend the read because we all connect differently with characters.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for providing an ARC for review.

Pamela Clare writes intense, emotional, complex and thrilling romance and the entire Cobra Elite series is a shining example of her wordsmithery!! The story was such a spectacular one, with so many twists, turns, hot moments and an abundance of sitting on the edge of my seat, yelling at my iPad and author. I was completely immersed in the story that when the ending crept on me, I was disappointed, not because I didn’t like where it ended, but because it ended and I wanted to keep reading. Need the next book right now. Please!! So go one click this book and entire series today, you won’t regret it, I promise. Happy reading everyone!!

Gabriela Marquez is posing as sister María a Franciscan Nun in Valenzuela she works for the CIA which no one knows and she is gathering evidence drug cartel. Everything seems to be going as planned until one day two reporters show up at the church and when men from the cartel take those two, she puts herself into harm's way. Now the Cobra Elite security has been given the task to come up with a plan for rescue. Dylan Cruz who feels a connection with María goes to her when the plan goes into action. When the two of them are left behind it is then that this story really takes off.
Going through different towns trying not to be caught and staying ahead of the cartel they must gain friendships along the way to make it possible. Also, must trust each other and will he find out her true identity. Why is he feeling attracted to the Nun he knows that is wrong also? So many things going on in this story only adds to this book and makes for a very entertaining book. I really liked all of the characters and done so in a way that made it believable. A very good book. I received this book from Netgalley.com

Hard paced action that will keep you on the edge of your seat:
Wow, another excellent book. I was drawn in from the very beginning and found the pacing excellent.
When Gabriela and Dylan are stranded together after an op goes bad, they have to work together to make it out safely. In addition to fighting off mercenaries, they also have to fight their growing attraction to one another. The problem is Dylan believes she's "Sister Maria" and thus strictly off limits and she needs to maintain her cover.
I really liked that while there was the obligatory action and suspense, we also got to really know the main characters on a personal level. I loved their complexity and you could really feel the chemistry and connection between them.
While part of the Cobra Elite series, it could be read as a standalone; yet all of the books are so good you'll want to grab them all!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Huge fan of the I-Team series, Colorado High Country and of course, this Cobra Elite series.

Pamela Clare has a knack for writing an intense, thrilling and sexy book. Dylan Cruz is the sexy Cobra operative sent in to help rescue Gabriela Marquez - a CIA agent undercover as a nun- one Dylan would love to get under the covers with. Sister Maria (Gabbie) is a fierce protector which lands her in hot water when she comes to defend two journalist and then they all 3 end up kidnapped. These kidnappers are connected to a huge drug cartel, but thankfully are clueless that Sister Maria is not simply a nun. When Dylan and Gabbie team up to escape it becomes a hotter than hot story of these two unable to keep their hands off one another- of course that's after Dylan discovers this fierce fighter is not a nun!

The suspense and mystery make for an excellent read. Dylan and Gabbie's struggles to escape Venezuela entraps you and you feel you are with them rooting them along the way.

Loved this book and is course I cannot wait for what comes next!

As usual there is lots of action, suspense, and romance in this latest addition to Clare's Cobra Elite series. Dylan, a Cobra operative is sent with his team on a mission to recover two journalists and a nun who have been taken hostage by terrorists. What he doesn't know is that the nun, Gabriela, is actually an undercover CIA agent. Gabriela is fearless in her protection of the journalists, often standing between them and their captors. Dylan and Gabriela make a great team as they work together to escape certain death. Excellent.

I have always loved reading this author’s books, but I have to say, I really really love the Cobra team! This is Dylon and Gabriel’s story. Gabriel is a nun, or is she, who intervenes in the kidnapping of 2 reporters and gets herself captured. Dylan is sent in to recover the reporters, and the beautiful nun! How does he deal with his feelings for a sister of the cloth? Who’s rescuing who!

I haven't read a lot of romantic suspense, but this book definitely delivered. I was intrigued from start to finish, and I absolutely love Spanish-speaking countries. The ending felt a bit too quickly resolved for me, but the characters were sweet, the plot was engaging, and I felt satisfied at the end. I'm definitely glad I stumbled upon this book!

This was a high octane thrill of a book with lots of action, peril and excitement and a kick ass, extremely competent heroine.

Sister Maria Catalina is a young nun who works in a mission in Venezuela feeding the poor and hungry, she is deep undercover as an CIA operative, she is really Gabriela Marquez, using her cover to keep an eye on the local drug cartels. When two American journalists are kidnapped from the mission, Gabriela let’s herself be taken too, to try and protect them.

When Dylan Cruz and the private elite security team he works for are detailed to rescue the journalists, he is immediately attracted to the beautiful nun in the picture he sees, but he thinks she is a real nun. Sister Maria is able to give them valuable intel, as most of her captors respect her vocation and the Catholic Church.

She is used as a hostage when Dylan’s team attempt a rescue, and when he rescues her they get cut off from the rest of the team. They have to work together to get over the border and evade the criminal gangs and police who are pursuing them.

Will Gabriela be able to drop her cover and reveal her true self to Dylan, can they make it to the border, and will they succumb to their mutual feelings?

So, the best bit about this book was the calm, collected and competent heroine, I loved her. Dylan’s reaction to her was seriously hot, and the intimate scenes were done well. I also loved how Dylan admired and respected her competence. He didn’t dismiss her because she was inexperienced and a woman. When she also rescues him, his fate was sealed.

I’m going to read the previous books in the series based on the quality of this book. Recommended

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

I have read several books by this author and they rarely disappoint. This was no exception. I enjoyed Hard Edge from the very first page all the way through to the last. It had action, romance, heat and intrigue. The characters really came to life and their interactions were hot and thrilling. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am a huge Pamela Clare fan - thank you so much @netgalley for providing me with ARC of Hard Edge in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book about Gabriela Marquez (an undercover CIA agent keeping a close watch on local drug trafficking - she poses as a nun) and Dylan Cruz (an operative with Cobra International Security). Dylan gets himself trapped in hostile territory with Gabriela (or Sister Maria as she's known) and as they escape to the Colombian border passion ignites between them -especially once Dylan realizes she's undercover (I am a sucker for this trope). As the desire between them ignites, what should have been a straightforward mission of evade-and-escape turns into a fight for survival against a murderous cartel boss who wants them both dead.

This book is Pamela Clare at her best: it's emotional, well-written, steamy hot hot hot - I always grab one of her books when I am in need of a sexy suspenseful escape. I honestly can't wait for the next one in the series!

I LOVED this book. Gabriela Marquez is working undercover for the CIA posing as a Franciscan nun in Venezuela. When she is taken prisoner. along with two American journalists, by a dangerous cartel, she must find a way to escape without blowing her cover. When Gabriela crosses paths with Cobra operative Dylan Cruz, the real excitement begins. The two must work together to find their way back to the U.S. despite tremendous dangers at every turn.

This book was non-stop action, cover to cover. There isn't a slow moment in the book: plenty of danger, bad guys, and twists and turns to keep the pages turning. I enjoyed this couple; they were a great match, and this was my favorite in the Cobra Elite series so far.

Pamela Clare masterfully blends both romance and suspense to create a fast-paced, enjoyable read!

Hard Edge by Pamela Clare is book 4 in the Cobra Elite Series. This is the story of Dylan Cruz and Gabriela Marquez. I have not read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Gabriela is in Venezuela working undercover as Sister María for the CIA. Gabriela is trying to gather information about the drug cartel. Then she and some journalist get kidnapped by the very people she is trying to gather information from. Dylan is working for Cobra International Security when he is called to Venezuela for a rescue mission. Dylan was a Seal Team operative so he knows danger and what he is heading toward. What he doesn't expect is to be drawn to María/Gabriela. Dylan does have some trust issues that does enter into their relationship but right now they are just working toward surviving and getting to safety. This was a action pack drama/romance.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I always look forward to when a Cobra Elite book comes out and I am never disappointed after reading it! This book was full of action and romance so I could not put it down and stayed up late reading it to the end.

Dylan and his Cobra team are sent down to Venezuela to rescue a journalist and photographer who were kidnapped and are being held for ransom. Along with those two, a nun was grabbed and the three are in a basement held by a cartel that is out for a quick buck or millions in this case.

Sister Maria is really Gabriela, a CIA agent, who is undercover trying t o get information on the drug cartels and looking for all the key players involved. Since Cobra was not informed about Gabriela's real identity, she does not either and keeps pretending to be a nun.

This leads to distrust and hard feelings but after they each save the other from pretty bad situations, they really start to fall for each other. You start to wonder if they will get their HEA when Dylan has been burned so badly in the past that he just won't trust another woman with his heart. Not to mention that they live on opposite sides of the U.S.

I won't give away details but of course they get their HEA, and if you have read other books in the series, you get to see some of the other Cobra guys. Now, I am going to have to read Nick and Holly's story again and Derek and Jenna!

The men of Cobra just keep getting better and better. This book had some amazing action. I stayed up all night to finish it because I had to know what happened next. Gabriela was incredible and handled everything that was thrown at her like a seasoned warrior. She and Dylan had great chemistry and worked well together to survive in impossible situations. I can't wait to read more.

Buckle up for this sexy, high adventure romantic suspense! Sister Maria Catalina, who is actually undercover CIA agent Gabriela Marquez, is kidnapped by a drug cartel along with two American journalists. Dylan, and his fellow members of the Cobra International Security, are tasked with trying to rescue the victims. What I really liked about this story was that Gabriela was equally capable in saving Dylan as Dylan was in saving her! No damsel in distress here. Throw in some spicy romance and non-stop action, you won’t be able to put this book down. While this is the fourth book in the Cobra Elite series, this is a stand alone.

"He dropped the small bag of supplies on the bed. 'Okay, Sister Maria Cuss-A-Lot - or is it Our Lady of Krav Maga? Or maybe Saint Maria of the Tinder Date? Who the HELL are you, and what are you doing in Venezuela?"

Gabriela's cover was blown. It was time to come clean with Dylan. Dylan the secret operative from COBRA who came to rescue her and 2 other US hostages. For almost two years, Gabriela has been under deep cover as a nun in Venezuela. Things become a total mess when she tries to intervene during the kidnapping of a reporter and her camera man.

Dylan thinks this mission is the same as any other one he has been on. But from the moment he sees a picture of "Sister Maria", he feels drawn to her. This attraction only increases once he is meets her in person.

Together, Gabriela and Dylan have to find their way out of a very dangerous country. Things continue to get complicated. They can't fight their attraction to each other. As they try to figure out there escape, they realize they will do anything to save the life of the other.

Pamela Clare amazes me again with her fantastic writing. Her attention to detail and wonderful characters kept me glued to each page

4.5Stars
It's been a long time since I read such good Military romance. A good story from the beginning. Both Gabriela and Dylan are great characters and likable in the instant. Their story is full of suspense action and attraction. I loved the mystery of how attraction grows trough the story. I couldn't be more proud of Gabriela when she rescues them both. Great enjoyable read
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley

HARD EDGE is book four in the Cobra Elite series by Pamela Clare. I’ve enjoyed Clare’s books in the past, but this new series is still warming up to me. I’m not sure if it’s because of the characters or if it’s because I’ve read more Romantic Suspense since I’ve read Clare’s I-team series, but I don’t feel like these books hit as hard as her other books have for me.

This book features Gabriela Marquez who is working undercover as sister Maria, a Franciscan nun. When she is taken as a hostage, that’s when the real action begins. Honestly, I never really warmed up to the heroine that much in this book. I’m really not sure why since she is obviously strong and intelligent, but something about her personality didn’t click with me. As a result, I couldn’t sympathize with her emotions as well as I have with past Clare heroines.

The same can be said for the hero, Dylan. Although he had all the aspects of a great hero there, something felt like it was missing from this book. It was missing a spark. So while I enjoyed the attention to detail, I wished that the romance was more focused on because I think I would have enjoyed this book a lot more.

While I enjoy Clare’s style of writing, this book didn’t quite meet my expectations. However, I am looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

Pamela Clare has a definite talent for writing edge of your seat, gripping romantic suspense stories. Dylan and Gabtriela's story was no exception. Loved every page. If you enjoy Romantic Suspense, I definitely encourage you to add Pamela Clare to your TBR pile. You won't be disappointed.

I literally say this all the time, but y'all this book was amazing! It caught my attention from the start and surprised me at every turn. I love the action and suspense. I was literally on the edge of my seat several times. I absolutely loved it and finished it in like 2hrs. I adored Dylan, he was literal perfection. He was sweet, sexy, and brave. Gabriela was pretty awesome too. She is my new favorite heroine-smart, brave, and badass. This books had the right amount of action and romance.
