First let me say I am not a great cook and it is partly because I am not creative and don't feel as though I know enough to experiment, so I love a cookbook that uses little tricks, in this case using frozen ingredients to make the cooking time shorter and the experience smoother!

I especially loved that the recipes used the frozen ingredients in their frozen state and in some cases you were instructed NOT to thaw as it would help in the cooking process. I picked out a few recipes in each section that I would be interested in trying and am excited to incorporate them into our meal rotation in the next few weeks.

What a genius idea.
I’ll admit, I hadn’t really thought about how useful frozen foods could be in cooking. I buy frozen entrees sometimes like lasagna or pizza. But I hadn’t really thought of using frozen items as ingredients in recipes. The last time I tried, I nearly messed up a recipe with frozen hash browns. Thanks to this cookbook, I can already tell that I shouldn’t have thawed them first!

I think one of the recipes I’ll try right away is the steak fajita bowls. You can just use those fully cooked steak strips, cook them up and making a delicious looking steak bowl with other fresh ingredients.

The meatball and mozzarella stick sub sounds like a fun idea to try.

The individual cheesy potato casseroles also sound right up my alley.

I’ve bookmarked a number of recipes to try.

As always with a cookbook, I feel like this could use more pictures of the recipes.

This is such a great cookbook. It not only has great recipes and beautiful pictures of the recipes, but it also has tips on how to keep the food from getting soggy. I love that the recipes feature ingredients that don't have to be thawed out ahead of time. This would be so helpful if you have a day where you forget to take food out of the freezer earlier in the day.

I love the use of almond flower and coconut cream, this is great for non dairy eaters. They recipes are easy to follow and the photos look like what you make.

As a novice cook trying to learn on a budget during pandemic food supply issues, I found this book immensely useful. The recipes are good, but the best part is all of the tips on how to adjust cooking methods and times when using frozen vegetables. I’ll now be freezing what is still readily available for use later with confidence that it will be used well. The only downside is I wish there were more photos.

Life has taken quite a turn and people are staying home more than usual. For some, that presents an opportunity to dust off their cooking skills. For others, it’s been a time of reckoning with the need to acquire some cooking skills. This book will work for either person. The author has presented a variety of recipes and tips for preparing meals using frozen foods.

People who cook a lot may feel that using only fresh ingredients is best. However, there is a lot to be said for using frozen ingredients. Using frozen ingredients can save the preparer time and money while still providing a nutritious meal as many foods are frozen at their nutritional peak. In addition, for a person who needs to improve their cooking skills, this is a great way to prepare delicious recipes without the stress of needing a lot of food preparation skills. Furthermore, the variety of recipes provide opportunities to find meal ideas that will make this book great for personal use or as a gift.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided by the publisher and Net Galley. However, the thoughts expressed are my own.

It's a great book for who doesn't have much time to cook. Not all the ingredients are frozen, of course, just the fruits, veggies and meat. Some of the recipes ask for frozen fulled cooked chicken, for example, so you need to prepare some of these things before to save you time. Not all the recipes have photos though but the recipes are easy to read and easy to follow and they're all 30min recipes. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review

Finally! A cookbook that takes frozen foods and produces some great looking recipes. Frozen foods are much...much cheaper and have no less nutritional value. This book speaks from the heart as it introduces ways to produce meals in less than thirty minutes.

What did I like? I bookmarked a few recipes to try and I value this cookbook because let’s face it.... some recipes are hard to make during the winter months when fresh is hardly available. It’s easier to utilize frozen and this cookbook offers you some helpful tips to navigate the frozen cooking world.

Would I buy or recommend? This was a fun cookbook... not as many pictures as I’d like but still it has plausibility. I’d buy it and I’m definitely going to put together a few of these recipes. Bottom line is frozen food is not a bad thing... buy it... use it... eat it. Five stars for an out of the box cookbook idea!

I received a copy to read and voluntarily left a review.

I recently started working again after not working for over a decade of dedicating my life solely to taking care of my 3 kids. The last time I was working full time I was pregnant with my twin boys who just turned 11 a few weeks ago. I am finding it difficult to balance mom and wife life with work life, even though I am working from home. We are also renovating our house, which throws an extra challenge into me fitting in all that needs to be fit in to a 24 hour day. The 30-Minute Cooking from Frozen Cookbook makes meal planning even easier than regular meal planning cookbooks by including many recipes that are cooked from frozen foods which takes an extra step or two out of cooking and condensing time for people like me who really don't have any to spare. This will be a go to cookbook for the modern day busy person.

It is nice to be able to cook dinner in 30 minutes or less. But it’s even better to make dinner when I feel like eating it instead of right before the fresh ingredients are about to spoil. Enter the 30-Minute Cooking from Frozen Cookbook to solve both problems.

With 100 recipes, neither you nor your family will be bored eating the same old dinners anymore. Just based on my own preferences, I cooked three recipes: Tex-Mex Rice and Beans, Jerk Chicken with Mango Salsa, and Pot Sticker Soup.

All the recipes are delicious and varied tremendously. The Pot Sticker Soup has the umami flavor that I love. I have never used pot stickers in a soup. It is now both my, and my famously picky husband’s, favorite meal. Even though I wasn’t able to find frozen mushrooms, I used fresh and they worked fine. The Tex-Mex recipe is great too. It was perfect for Meatless Monday. The Jerk Chicken is very convenient and yummy. It tasted great with just a cup of rice as a side dish.

Overall, I'm looking forward to trying other easy recipes using mostly frozen ingredients from this book. The only negative was the lack of photographs for all the recipes. However, each recipe includes the calories and other nutritional information. 4 stars for the 30-Minute Cooking from Frozen Cookbook!

BOOK REVIEW
5 Star Cookbook!

This is my type of cookbook! meals in 30 minutes PLUS no need to thaw ANYTHING.

I really liked this cookbook in the fact it went into details about how to avoid Mushy frozen foods. My whole life I had always assumed you couldn't cook certain foods from frozen or if you did they would become to mushy or less flavorful. The 30 Minute Cooking from Frozen takes you through the steps fro non mushy greatness and flavorful-ness that last through the cooking process.

When searching for cookbooks, I have three things I look for. 1. Are they healthy recipes. This day in age, It is so important to find recipes to better your health as according to the Global Obesity Levels, America is one of the most obese countries (36.2% as of 3/27/2020). The second thing I look for in a cookbook, is if I can make the meals quick, but taste like you spent all day making the dish. People used to value their time in the kitchen, This day and age however, families are lucky if they get time as a family at the dinner table, But less have the time to prepare a healthy meal. These recipes are 30 minutes from start to finish! What a win!!! Lastly, I look at the recipes themselves. I like to find cookbooks that have recipes that I am familiar with, with easy to find ingredients. A huge turn off for me, is buying a cookbook and then getting home to realize, the recipes have a ton of ingredients you can't find easily in stores. 30 Minute Cooking from Frozen Cookbook. Is a simple cookbook but yet teaches you new techniques, brings lots of flavor and is ideal for the busy family. No more takeout because for forgot to thaw dinner out before you left for work!

Thank you to Netgalley and Adam's Media for providing this cookbook in exchange for my honest review. This book can be found to purchase on 10/6/2020!

I really liked this cookbook. It took some everyday ingredients and made them into things I haven't thought to try. I especially liked that they had nutrition information for every recipe and most of the recipes were easy to modify to different tastes.

What a handy book to have on the shelf for busy people -- especially all the people who may have stocked up their freezer or even purchased a second one in light of the COVID 19 pandemic. I have already earmarked several to try. I typically have some "emergency" proteins and veggies in the freezer, but usually prepare them in the most minimal of ways. This will give me the chance to make them shine.

The 30-Minute Cooking from Frozen Cookbook is a technique and recipe collection by Carole Jones. Released 6th Oct 2020 by Simon & Schuster on their Adams Media imprint, it's 192 pages and available in paperback and ebook formats.
This cookbook embraces an interesting (and appealing) concept: how to get tasty food on the table in 30 minutes using at least some frozen ingredients. The only times I had ever done that before were for things like frozen fish fillets, frozen pizza, french fries, and smoothies. Admittedly, smoothies are included in this collection, but the author presents so many more creative ways to incorporate frozen convenience foods in everyday meals.

The recipes are arranged thematically by chapters: breakfast, side dishes, chicken, beef & pork, fish & seafood, vegetarian, and desserts. Each recipe includes an intro description, ingredients listed bullet style (measurements in American standard only, metric conversion tables in the back of the book), and step by step instructions. Nutritional info: calories, fat, protein, sodium, fiber, carbs, and sugar, are included at the end of each recipe.

The recipes are what I would classify as "everyday fancy" - perfectly attainable and do-able but without hugely involved effort or expensive (weird) ingredients. The ingredients will be readily available at any moderately well stocked grocery store.

The photography is not plentiful. At a rough guess, probably 15-20% of the dishes are pictured. The photos which are there are clear and well done. Serving suggestions are appropriate and attractive. The lack of photos detracted a bit from the overall experience for me.

The recipes are varied and the ones we tried were all tasty and enjoyed by my family. Many of these would be great for cooks who are learning to cook on their own. This one would make a superlative choice for a newly-moved-out student or someone living on their own for the first time. Many of the recipes have large yields (6+ servings), so for singletons, some adjustments will need to be made for leftovers. (I saw that a lot of the recipes would lend themselves very well to meal planning/once a week cooking - so that's something to keep in mind).

Four stars.

This book is so helpful, especially if you are cooking for a crowd or you have picky eaters. There is something in this for everyone. The recipes are easy to follow. The photography is good. The monkey bread muffins, mini corn souffles, and philly cheesesteak sloppy joes were all delicious. There are many recipes in here to add to our rotation.

As a young adult, fresh out of uni, this recipe book is for me. Quick, delicious, make on the go with what you have because you have to go to work in 30 mins recipes.

definitely a book i'll be investing in to survive on actual food. Personal favourites? the poppyseed pancakes. Love anything poppyseed and for breakfast? even better. And the potato casseroles. Yum.

Not sure if it was the Netgalley app but the layout wasn't great. some images were chopped but otherwise very easy to read and the images helped choose what i was to make next!

Thank you for feeding all the twenty-something year olds. That said, this is good for any busy-body

My step mom grew up during the depression so the concept of cooking from my pantry is an easy one for me to get behind. This is how I learned to cook, and since COVID-19, it's become a fact of life. We need to prepare the best food we have with what’s on hand, and the timing is perfect for Cooking From Frozen.

Organized by meal times, Carole Jones provides a wide range of recipes within each category for many different tastes. There are some great ideas in Cooking From Frozen and I’m inspired to hurry up and fill my freezer.

I really enjoyed this cookbook and have tried a few of the recipes and tips in it. We are very busy and don’t always have tome or remember to thaw ingredients before dinner.

Let me start by saying I recently decided I love flipping through cookbooks for recipes my husband can cook for us. He actually knows how to cook and feels comfortable experimenting with recipes in the kitchen. I do not. Even when I cook for myself, I usually ask him to verify the chicken is cooked through and I'm not going to accidentally poison us. However, this cookbook made me feel like I might actually be able to master some dishes. I thought cooking from frozen would really limit the health factor in our meals, but it doesn't have to. Nor does cooking from frozen limit your options to what's in the bag. There are so many ways to be creative, and delicious recipes abound in this cookbook.

I am always on the hunt for quick, easy meals and this cookbook does not disappoint. The recipes are easy to follow, and this is perfect for both a novice and an experienced cook

Most busy people have favorite ingredients stored in their freezers so they can prepare dishes without going to the grocery store. The 30-Minute Cooking from Frozen Cookbook: 100 Delicious Recipes That Will Save You Time and Money―No Pre-Thawing Required! takes quick cooking from the freezer to a higher level. The author, Carole Jones, has presented over 100 recipes using frozen ingredients; the dishes take 30 minutes or less to make.

The great thing about this book is that it features recipes that regular people actually want to make. Jones has developed recipes with flavors borrowed from all over the world, and there is something for everyone here. One recipe that turned out perfectly and very delicious is Individual Cheesy Potato Casseroles; these take very little hands-on time, and once baked, go with everything from grilled meats, poultry, and fish, as well as some casseroles. Other recipes in this book worth looking at include Popcorn Chicken BLT Pasta Salad, Broccoli Almond Stir-Fry, Monkey Bread Muffins (Yum!), and Swiss Mushroom Steak Hoagies. There are appetizers, breakfast dishes, salads, soups, main dishes containing chicken, beef, pork, and seafood, as well as vegetarian dishes and desserts.

The one drawback to this excellent cookbook is the minimum number of photographs. There are so many delicious dishes, that there should be a picture of every one. The ones that are included are beautiful and mouthwatering, and that one weakness shouldn’t stop busy cooks from purchasing this cookbook.

Highly recommended, the recipes are written in a concise and easy-to-read manner, and can easily be followed by any cook whether beginning or advanced. This cookbook will be a good addition to any cookbook collection.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

Cooking from frozen always seemed so intimidating. Friends of mine have freezers packed with homemade meals, and mine seemed bare in comparison. This book was truly an inspiration with some delicious meals that make our evenings so much easier. 5*.
