Morgaines life long dream has been to go to the Circle of Light Academy and become a COL agent. Her father has had a different plan in mind, for a witch with status to join the COL would look bad upon the family.

Since her mother’s passing her father the high priest has been wanting to get Morgaine and her sister Brielle out of their home by Different means, which creates makes Morgaine discover dangerous secrets that can get her and her whole coven killed.

Thankfully Morgaine isn’t alone.

Very exciting book with twists you don’t see coming!

First time I read anything from this author and I will be looking forward to more in the future. Would make an excellent script for an action movie. Easy to read in one sitting. Ends in a cliffhanger so I hope the next one in the series comes out soon.

This is Ahisha McGregory’s debut book and I really enjoyed The Demon’s Pursuit of Mor.

The magic system and world in The Demon’s Pursuit of Mor is very interesting as well as well done. I really enjoyed seeing different people being represented in the book.

I always enjoy reading books that have strong female characters and Morgaine definitely is one. There is other female characters throughout the story and they compliment Mor which was amazing to see.

Overall I did enjoy The Demon’s Pursuit of Mor and I look forward to reading more from Ahisha McGregory.

Thank you Netgalley for a copy of this book! I can’t wait for the next book in Mor’s story the writer has a lot of talent I found it very easy to connect with the characters straight away and I was never put off with the changing POV’s like I am with some books. The author actually made me hate the villains which I usually don’t do and I found the world-building and the magic system intricate but easy to understand in the story. The cliffhanger at the end was well executed and if I hadn’t already known I wanted to read the next book then I would’ve after that! I love the representation and the strong female characters in this book and Mor's dialogue was very well written. My only issue with this book was the timeline I feel it could benefit the readers if there had been some indication of time passed between chapters as sometimes one chapter took place straight after the one before and sometimes months or weeks had passed. Also due to this, I feel like we lost out on seeing some relationships develop. Other than that I think this author has done a wonderful job and I highly recommend this book

I had never read a book by this author before, but the blurb on this book intrigued me enough that I thought I’d give it a try. Come to find out, this is the author’s debut book. I really enjoyed this book as it’s well-written, has good characters, and the plot twists were fascinating. Now there were a couple things I found a little troublesome. We had periodic jumps in time of a couple/few months, and I don’t like to be told about happening, I like to be shown them. I also found her final love interest a little quick. We didn’t get much of a build-up because of the time jumps. However, besides those, I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

After starting this book I had conflicted feelings. I liked it, then I didn't, then I did again.

The beginning felt a little slow which definitely contributed to me being unsure about it. The relationships (especially Mor's with her first love interest) didn't seem that strong and it took me half the book to start feeling some sort of attachment for the characters.

I almost skipped the first couple of chapters that weren't in Mor's P.O.V. because the characters (other than Oliver) weren't as relevant to her story yet. I think we could've benefited from getting to know both of them some more before throwing other characters into the mix.

Other than the initial slowness, something else that bothered me were the time jumps. You blink and suddenly it's been a few weeks/months but the characters sometimes act as if no time at all has passed and yet they also do? Maybe some filler chapters would've been better or telling the reader upfront that there was a time skip instead of inserting it in the middle of the chapter.

The second half is definitely better. WE GET CAGE. He reminds me a bit of John Constantine from DC's Legends of Tomorrow (and his own series).

I loooooveeeee Cage and Mor's weird relationship, it's so cute. That's one place where I don't mind the lack of details. It's the small little things mentioned that really make it work.

Eventually I did warm up to the rest of the characters. Their support for each other is very sweet.

BUT THAT ENDING. WHAT WAS THAT? A very confusing cliffhanger that could've ended at the "paper" scene.

That kind of ties into another smaller issue where I wasn't sure if some scenes were flashbacks or dreams until I read them in full. The ending wasn't written like that (as in Italic script) so I guess it really happened? BUT HOW WHAT HUH??? SO MANY QUESTIONS.

Questions that won't be answered until book two. Sigh. This is so mean. Is there even a release date? Please say yes.

I really enjoyed this book! The worldbuilding is very intriguing and the characters are either likeable or despicable in the right way. The story was well paced and pleasant to follow and the different points of views were well exploited. However, I did find dome descriptions a little too long and the style was sometimes not very smooth. Apart from that, it was a fun and exciting read and I'm really excited to see what the author has in store for the sequel!

A thoroughly enjoyable book. I will be keeping an eye out for book two, especially considering this book left on a cliffhanger. The plot was intriguing, though I found the small time jumps toward the end a little odd- wanting more of the relationship development among the characters.

First of all, can we all appreciate the beauty of this cover? It's stunning!
The characters are interesting and the world-building is sweet and slow (not TOO slow though!). I did have a difficult time getting into it for the first two chapters, but once I forced myself through it I was immersed in the life of a kick-butt female character!

First of all this book is very underrated! It’s really a hidden gem! At first the story was kind of hard to get into. Mor was a little bit annoying at first! But a few chapters in the story kicked off and I really enjoyed it! Overall a very nice read!

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley. I knew it was available via NetGalley because of interacting with the author, Ahisha McGrefory, on Twitter. I promised to review the book, though I'd hoped to have it done at least a month earlier than I have. The delay starting the book is because I was still reading other books for my book group. The delay finishing the book and writing the review is because January 2021 has not really been any better than most of 2020 for reading and focusing.

To get 5-stars from me requires the book to be one of my favorites. This book didn't quite make the cut. For the first half of the book, I wasn't sure why the title was The Demon's Pursuit of Mor, but the woman on the cover appeared to be a different character in the book. The book could have used a better story editor. There was a lot of worldbuilding and information, and much of it came in the form of exposition and slight info dumps.
The title itself is a mystery for much of the book. Who is the demon? Which demon is pursuing Mor? I spent most of the book searching for the answer to this question. McGregory constructed her characters carefully. They drive the narrative. Additionally, all her characters are morally grey, which is a popular choice right now. She does an excellent job. It's a relatively fast read.
I recommend this book if you like witches and supernatural stories with morally grey characters. There is a lot going on and a lot of world-building. I'm interested to see where the series goes!  (Especially since it left off at a cliff-hanger.)

It has been so long since I fell in love with a witchy world but I absolutely adored this one!

With well written characters and an amazing plot this book had me hooked and left me craving the next one.

This is one of those books that I got because of the cover, and you must admit that it looks so good!

The best parts of the story were the world-building, the magic system, and of course, the plot twists. It has a slow start, but be patient as the story picks up and is much better-paced in the second part of the book. It's intriguing as if you can see the author honing her craft throughout the book. It was the second part of the book that made me truly connect with the characters and root for them. I particularly enjoyed Mor and Cage's relationship.

Overall, it is a good story, with morally gray and relatable characters. We get multiple POVs, including the antagonists which was refreshing. I wish there was a little more showing than telling, but all in all, I loved the story.

Although the slow start took me some time to get going, I thought that this was a very promising start to a series and will be looking forward to reading the next parts. I especially enjoyed Mor's character, and found her especially realistic and relatable but I thought that parts of the story were a bit confusing due to the time jumps. All in all though a very good read.

The writing in this book was phenomenal. I would never believe this was the author's debut novel. The writing style has such a perfect flow with a great combination of dialogue and internal monologues. I also loved the way the plot unfolded, Beautifully written with good characters and dialogue. It's a very detailed book with interwoven characters with good character development. The driving force behind this though is the story, it moves effortlessly and is so engaging
