Hoping for More

This is a sweet romance between two friends who have both been wondering if their relationship might become a little bit more. It was a nice little romance without any major misunderstandings or problems to overcome.
I think that lots of people will love this one. For me, it was a little bit old fashioned and I had a hard time believing that the characters were in their 30's, not their 60's. Their whole outlook on life was very old fashioned, with our hero being worried about the heroine's reputation if locals realised that he'd spent the night with her. Didn't seem very likely to me. Their conversation was also a little stilted at times.
Overall, this was a fun read that left you feeling happy at the end.

This was a lovely story to read. Nice characters and good pace. I liked it.

Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Wynne who is an assistant library in Vermont is excited about Dr Daniel Stevenson coming to give a presentation. She likes him but is not sure if he is interested. I enjoyed the chemistry between Wynne and Daniel.

The book description appealed to me as an avid reader of clean romance. However, the story itself left me hoping for more...

So much of the book felt like teenage "does he/she like me" angst rather than two accomplished and independent adults.

Up to the point when one of them finally says something to put the other's mind at ease, it's just a lot of questions on both their parts, which grew tiresome after a while. I found it hard to connect with either of the main characters as a result.

And then, to go from finally saying something to being engaged as quickly as they were, I expected more development in their relationship. And it just wasn't there.

So, the whole thing just missed the mark of making me feel and share in their joy at finally being together.

Hoping for More (Deerbourne Inn) was a short but sweet romance. Wynne Buchanan was the assistant librarian in Willow Springs and managed the schedule for the community center. Dr. Daniel “Gene” Stevenson was a professor of history she had contacted over four years ago to make presentations for them. Over the years they have become friends so when Gene said he was coming early to Willow Springs, Wynne was surprised. She loved spending time with him and wanted their friendship to grow but wasn’t sure of Gene’s feelings. Gene really wanted their relationship to grow into a romantic direction but was worried he might be assuming she wanted it also.
This was a charming romance with lovable characters. The storyline was there but it got to be redundant and felt like it was going in circles with the character’s doubts. Maybe a few times would be fine but on every other page one of them was focusing on their doubts.

A sweet romance, small-town charming, and a little old fashion. We have Assistant Librarian Wynne and Professor Stevenson who come to town to speak about Willow Springs' history. Wynne, who has been setting up these talks, has become friends with the professor. Over the years, it has just been a friendship between the two, but this visit is different. Both want to be a little more, but neither knew how to act upon it. I have been enjoying the Deerbourne Inn novellas as they are light, quick, happy reads.

Hoping for More is a very well written romance. Good plot and character dynamics. I highly recommend this book. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.

I loved this sweet book especially because I tend to be a sucker for nerdy heroes. And quite frankly we need more nerdy heroes in books. With nerdy heroines we have plenty. Let’s give nerdy heroes a chance. I finished this one in a day. To me it was a great escape read.

A cute friends to lovers small-town read novella that was quick, fun, and lighthearted. A bit old-fashioned in the way the characters behave and some stilted interactions.

this was such a sweet little love story. i really adored these characters and the way the author wrote them. it really made me feel like we are all friends and i wanted to spend more and more time with them!
