Description

An against-all-odds & forbidden rockstar romance

After surviving the long and excruciating recruitment process, I thought I would end up working for Madonna or the CIA at the very least.

Boy, was I wrong.

Even in my wildest dreams I couldn't have imagined what I was in for. What my heart was in for.

I couldn't have possibly fathomed the lifestyle, the responsibility, how much it would take out of me, the inner battles, and mostly, the emotional whirlwind.

I could never have imagined, prepared myself for, or anticipated…

Him.

It was supposed to be a job. Just a temporary job. Just a few months. Just a short stop before the journey I was about to take to follow my dream.

It was supposed to be a lot of things...but not this.

Little did I know it would be the one event that would shape me, would change me, would bring on such a shift in the balance of my world.

Would bring...

Him.

Would bring…

Them.

Both.

Into my life.

*UNPLUGGED is the first part in a two-part series; it has a cliffhanger-ish ending.

An against-all-odds & forbidden rockstar romance

After surviving the long and excruciating recruitment process, I thought I would end up working for Madonna or the CIA at the very least.

Sigal Ehrlich is my new favorite Author.

You know you're reading a wonderful book when you aren't even halfway through it and check Goodreads to see if there is a sequel. You also cancel any upcoming plans and lock your door. That is how good this book is.

Ivi Kert has traveled to Los Angeles from Estonia to be a Nanny for six months. She needs to raise money for a trip she is taking with her organization to build houses for those who have lost houses because of a tornado in a South American country. She meets Jeremy first, who is really the star of Unplugged. I picture him as the wise little boy in The Ring Movie. He is incredibly smart and aware and wins over ivi right away. But once she meets Tyler Lee Adams, world famous rockstar and father to Jeremy, is when her world is turned upside down. That very first scene with Tyler Lee is alternatively hilarious and a little frightening.

This is a beautiful romance. There is a slow burn that is realistic and definitely keeps the reader on their toes. I love that sometimes you want to hate Tyler and other times you can't believe great he is. Ivi is unique as she is Estonian and has grown up to take care of herself and not let anyone take advantage of her, including her Boss. Sigal Ehrlich knows how to develop her characters into proper people that the reader wants to get to know better.

This book ends in a cliffhanger, but don't worry! There is a sequel that you will begin reading immediately.

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

What a refreshing change of pace this bok was and got me out of my 2-star slump.

Ivi has left Estonia for the bright lights and big city of LA to become a nanny for a 10-year-old where the people around him are trying to keep him out of the limelight of his Rock Star Father Tyler Lee Adams.

At 12% in which is about 5 chapters, my thoughts were what a complete and utter arsehole Tyler is. What a quick and stupid judgement I made there. Although their first meet I think would put everyone in the same place I was.

As much as I like Ivi and Tyler, I had to say like Ivi, I fell in love with 10-year-old Jeremy. He was so quick-witted and intelligent sometimes it was easy to forget just how old he was.

The romance in this was swoon-worthy. It didn't take long for Tyler to get over himself and let Ivi know the real him. It was adorable when she mentioned her passion in passing, and he went away and looked it up so they could have a conversation about it. Honestly, at some points, my ovaries felt done for.

This is a book I would highly recommend and will give you cavities.

Ivi, in between charitable missions, goes to work as a nanny for six months. When she realizes that she is the nanny for a rock god, Ivi is excited but Tyler sure does not want her to stay. Over the six months that she nannies for him, they grow closer together and feelings get blurred. At the end of her time though, she must leave to go on her mission.
Opinion
Who doesn’t like stories about music legends? We’ve all dreamed of being the one to catch our idols eye. This story tells how a normal woman does just that. Getting to live vicariously through Ivi was a fun ride.
With book two coming out at the end of the year, I look forward to finding out what happened after the mission trip.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

A really nice feel-good and wholesome rock romance, with low angst, low steam and an all around cast of great characters. Both main characters, Ivi and Tyler and level headed and fun to read about. Unplugged is told solely from Ivi's POV and it is part of a duet and ends in a cliffhanger.
Ivi is a simple, fun, smart girl coming from a small town in Estonia. She does a lot of volunteering work all over the world, helping fight against poverty and human trafficking. In order to save some money for her next mission, she takes a 6-month job as the nanny for Tyler's 10 year old son. Tyler is a famous rock star, just getting to know his kid.
This book has a bit of everything: witty banter, hate to love vibes, passion, funny moments. There are a few communication issues but I liked how down to earth and self confident Ivi is. She decides to live in the moment and that is very refreshing.
I also apprecited the commentary on inequality, poverty, the need to volunteer. All in all, a very entertaining and fun book!

Wow!! I picked up my Kindle a few hours ago and I read the whole book.

Ivi leaves her small town in Estonia to become a nanny for a celebrity's kid for 6 months in order to raise money for her true passion. Never did she expect to be the nanny to the unknown son of Tyler Lee Adams, rockstar legend. Upon their first meeting, he stumbles in thinking that she spent the night with him, and now he wants her out. When he finds out that his manager hired her to watch his 10 year old son he never met, Jeremy, while the boy's mom is on a business trip; he's shocked.

Ivi has no problem taking care of Jeremy, but dealing with Tyler and the rest of his entourage, is something else. She creates a "swear jar" for everyone to contribute to when they use unacceptable language around Jeremy. She loves Jeremy, but getting father and son to connect is a big goal of hers.

What she never expected to happen was to get to know the real Tyler and fall in love with him as well.

When Jeremy goes back to his mom's, Ivi gets ready to travel to Nepal to help after an earthquake. Will he ask her to come back to him in a month? Or will what they shared together be a once in a lifetime affair?

A must read!
