The vocabulary and story line in this book are excellent! I can think of several ways to incorporate this book into my daily lessons, from learning to read, spell and define vocabulary, to utilizing as a companion text for lessons on science and social-emotional learning. In the midst of this pandemic of 2020, nothing could be more valuable and right on target than a story that informs and equips children with the tools to keep themselves centered, relaxed and calm through yoga. I highly recommend this book! -Carol M.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC of this book.
Read and reviewed by seven-year-old Amy.

In ‘Molly and Omari Learn Yoga,’ Omari tries to skip stones, but he keeps tensing up while throwing. Molly, on the other hand, can skip stones. But when she tries to catch a dragonfly, she keeps moving her hand as if she were going to swat it. That’s when a tree starts to talk! And the tree—Wanda—begins to teach yoga. Does the yoga help Molly catch a dragonfly? Does it help Omari skip stones? Read ‘Molly and Omari Learn Yoga’ to find out!

This book is a chapter book, and it taught me some pretty cool yoga poses. I even did them while reading this book!
One theme in this book is to relax. That’s what yoga is for!

I give this book 5/5 stars as I loved the poses, Wanda, the tree taught.

What a great book! My daughter and I loved this book, which is about a boy called Omari and a girl called Molly who learn how to do yoga after talking to a tree called Wanda. Wanda teaches them how yoga is about calming the body and the mind, to be in harmony with yourself and the environment. My daughter enjoyed trying out the different yoga poses, such as downward dog pose, camel pose, half tortoise pose, happy baby pose and tree pose. She was also interested in the breathing exercises, learning how trees breathe and she enjoyed learning the different hand mudras. This is a magical book, which is excellent and highly recommended.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a great first book in the series. I really liked how it was a chapter book with more writing than pictures. This will be a great series for new readers. I also really love the stories in each book of the series. There are not many books discussing mental health for children.

Never have we needed books like this more than we do right now. This wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated book introduces its readers in a easy, accessible way to yoga, breathing and mindfulness through great characters and story. The skills are ones which will help our children build resilience and inner strength. As an educationalist passionate about children's well-being I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

This picture book about friends Molly and Omari. They were both trying to learn something new. A tree heard their conversation and helped them to learn some yoga. I was very impressed by what yoga can do for your body, mind, and soul. My son read it and loved the characters in the illustration. The illustrations were lively, fun, entertaining, and colorful. I am looking forward to more of Molly and Omari's exciting Adventures. I recommend this book to young children and their parents; I give this book five stars.
