I really enjoyed the plot and characters and their journey. I liked where the author took these two and the way they got to their happy ending was a wonderful thing to read. I hope to read more by this author very soon.

WoW this was a good book! Not gonna lie I was a little iffy! But it turned out to be great!
This book will suck you in... Its very unique and fun. Something different from what I usually read!

At first, I would like to thank Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for allowing me to review this book. Keep in mind that my review, however, is my true opinion on this book.

This is a fun, loving, and exciting book. I really enjoyed reading this.

I love Liv as a character and especially her charisma. She is a hardcore businesswoman, but has her soft moments and sides as well, which is very suitable for her.

I have to say, however, that the first few chapters did not really catch my attention. So what I am saying to you is: Be patient! You have to give this book time, and I am sure it will live up to your expectations when you get a few chapters into the book.

Here, we have a story about dreams and a story about hope. "Leaving me behind" is furthermore about love and finding love in the most random and unexpected places.

thank you to the publisher and netgalley for the free copy in exchange for an honest review! all thoughts and opinions are my own.

i really enjoyed reading this book! i liked reading about the main character, liv, and watching her slowly get used to the spanish town as well as her lover. she really goes through a lot of character development throughout the novel, and i loved seeing her figure out her life goals and realize what she wants to do.

despite his hopes to go official, liv is always hesitant and dismisses his offers to accompany him to dinners. they are both crazy about each other, but liv is scared and sebastian won't back down. they spend secret nights with each other, and pretend that they don't know each other during the day. liv feels terrible from keeping the secret from her friends at the coffee shop, but they continue. her group of friends are great, because they are all unique but all supportive of liv no matter what.

sebastian is a fantastic male protagonist, and when they first meet, liv is convinced that all their relationship will be is a great one night stand. but sebastian defies her expectations and shows up at her doorstep, ready to continue their relationship. he's kind, patient, good-looking, and very supportive of everything liv does.

also, i didn't like the conflict with lola and kai. i think that it was hypocritical of both of them to have another person in their lives. i think that the situation that happened between liv and kai was executed oddly and awkward. it felt like the only reason that it was included was just to create conflict.

overall, this was a good contemporary romance novel! it was a casual read that i really enjoyed reading, and i would recommend.

4 stars overall!
This book was a pleasantly surprising new adult rom-com that snuck up on me in so many astonishing ways!

30 year old Liv has struggled with self identity and crisis throughout her life. With the constant struggle of family approval and self love, her worldliness is disappearing. Deciding to put her life together as many women her age have already done, she journeys to Spain in order to find herself again where she meets an abundance of new found friends and her passionate romance with Sebastian begins

The found friendships and banter with all the characters was AMAZING and definitely something I wasn’t expect to love in the book. The characters where well developed and had so much depth to them that if truly felt like I was living life along side them. The love interest, Sebastian was truly remarkable and what you wouldn’t expect in a steamy new adult standalone (I love him)🙌 I couldn’t get enough of the heartwarming (and steamy😋) scenes with him.

Liv’s journey of self discovery was impeccable and I related to her in so many ways. Throughout her many experiences we see in the book, they all came together and not only taught her how to accept herself but made me love her character even more.

The authors writing style was simple but detailed, easy to follow along and overall captivating! I can not wait to dive into more of the authors works in the future, this did not disappoint!

This is a great beach read! How many of us dream about starting over in a beautiful country, and this book takes you through that. Thanks to Netgalley for the digital ARC for my honest review!

It's my first time reading a novel from Sigal Ehrlich. Honestly, I enjoyed it! I pretty much devoured it in one setting!
The premise is very interesting. I mean, aren't we all, at the bottom of our hearts, want a fresh start/getaway in an exotic European coastal town? And try new things, especially the things the old self won't be doing?

Mostly for me, that's why I enjoyed this book. The book offered me a getaway! The whole vibe is fun and relaxing. A perfect beach read! There are great friends and great "one night stands". The heroine's thinking processes and choices are very relatable. It's not over dramatic and HEA guaranteed.

I would totally recommend it to my friends for the summer to come!

One thing I think could be better are the sexy scenes. Probably because I've read too many romance books. The writing of their time together kinda falls flat for me. Like they're pretty much the same type and similar choices of words as many other romance books. So while I was reading these scenes, I feel like" okay, they are doing it, they're hot, I get it." instead of " Wow, they have really great chemistry and connections there!"

Anyways, love the book in general and would love to read more books by Sigal Ehrlich!

Leaving Me Behind was a perfect quick read. It's the type of book that I couldn't put down. This novel is not just about romance but also true friendships and finding yourself along the way.

Liv is a woman who decides to do something life-changing in order to not lose herself completely. She's really brave to choose that path of life. She seems to be an unpredictable woman. Until Sebastian came into her life. They both found happiness in each other's arms.

As easy to read it can be but this book has an emotional impact wherein it tackles a path in life where you are in a crossroad, and that you have to choose something eventually. Liv chose herself, self-love is important. I adore Sebastian's point of view where he said that when the time where you find yourself standing on that crossroads, you have to choose the path that will make yourself happy and not to please anyone. Life is too short to spend it too much on pleasing and obeying other people's command. And finally, Liv was where she was meant to be all along.

Liv also mentioned the word "hiraeth" which means a longing to a home you can't return to. It's my favorite word and I was so happy to finally see it on a novel. The word itself was perfect to describe Liv's emotions that time.

Overall, I love this book very much. It's one of the books that will keep you motivated in life when you read it. Jam-packed with finding yourself and at the same time being able to share it with someone special. Leaving Me Behind is a novel that is captivating from the beginning up until the sweet ending.

I really enjoyed this book! I’m new to the romance genre and I really loved that there was so much emotional depth to this book—not just the firey stuff if you know what I mean.

Liv, a successful businesswoman, up and leaves her life to do some soul searching in Barcelona. She meets an intriguing man and the story is off and running. Will she give up everything back home to stay with this man?

Quick read, steamy, well written. Perfect for summer. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!!

Great characters, and an amazing story. This was such a wild ride and I enjoyed every second of it! Fun and adventurous, Liv's life is fabulous.

I completely loved this book and will be recommending it to my friends.

Liv does something that I have thought about doing myself that I would love to do. She took a look at her life and thought ... what if I just jump on a plane and run away, never to look back? Just go start over someplace new. Find new adventures, new friends and passion. Live thinks about doing these things every day. She fights the desire to give up her wonderful job that has made her financially comfortable.

One day she finally decides to just do it. Give it all up and start over in a small town just outside of Barcelona. This is a story of self-renewal and self discovery. Liv's mommy issues is something that I could completely relate to. These issues made me like the book even more.

This is definitely a must read. One that will make you keep reading to find out what happens next.

Really enjoyed this! I love both the character and relationship development. Liv being so emotionally guarded is something both relatable and realistic, and it was so nice to see her open up to Sebastian, who just wants to support her as she gets further in her journey of self-discovery. I also love the ANGST of Liv being afraid of making herself vulnerable to Sebastian and trying to pretend there is nothing going on, when there obviously is! I liked that this story delved a bit deeper with messages about self-love in addition to the great relationship. This was a great summer read!

🌅Slow bloomer but got there in the end💓

I'm glad I kept reading because the last half of this story was worth slow progress through the beginning. It's much more focused on the steamy side of the relationship between American expat Liv and the smoldering Spaniard she takes up with, particularly in the first half, than I had expected (or needed). I will admit to skimming most of the extended intimate scenes to get to the dialogue and the emotional journey Liv undertakes in her search for a satisfying life. Liv's deep-seated issues with her mom are hard to avoid, even with a continent between them, and added a layer of complexity to her unwillingness to let down her barriers even when romance comes banging on her door.

But her newfound clique of women friends anchors the women's fiction side of the story. Her regular confabs with cafe owner Vivian and the women in her cooking class were welcome intervals between the heated scenes with Sebastian.

I ended up liking Liv's story of growth and fulfillment; her persistent suitor/seducer Sebastian was a large part of the draw.😉

Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

A delightful book full of adventure, action, and thrills. Fun to read, engrossing world building, and very descriptive imagery made it feel like it was cinematic. It's hard to resist the story as it drives forward. Would recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley, Sigla Ehrlich, and the publisher for an E-arc of this book in exchange for an honest review. I loved the idea of someone being able to pick up their life and just move to another part of the world, especially since this was set in Barcelona (I love Spain!!) This was a sexy, and steamy read that would be a perfect summer read or a good read if you want to transport to somewhere new. I loved how much the author took me to Spain with her vivid writing and I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

I'm a sucker for an older-woman-younger-man romance and this one did not disappoint. I also loved the setting in Spain.

I thought I was reading a thriller and delightfully found myself in a sweet and sexy romance! Liv quits her job and moves to a seaside Spanish village to spend a year finding herself. She soon meets a quirky cast of characters at the local coffee shop who become her closest friends. She also meets and falls in love with the hottest guy in town, Sebastian. This story is super steamy, and us thriller readers aren’t used to that, so I just closed my eyes and gave them a moment because this story was really rich, multi layered, and enjoyable to read during these last couple of rainy days. Thank you Netgalley, BooksGoSocial and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. Available now!
