A feud that has lasted through generations has kept Isabel Falcon and Micah Wilde apart. When their eleven-year-old daughter, Lucy, doesn’t arrive home from school, panic sets in as the two families begin searching for her. Lucy had recently been injured in a school bus accident that killed two of her classmates and left one in a coma. Since the accident, Lucy is afraid to ride the bus and is dealing with regret that she could not save her friend Annie. When she awakens, she is locked in a room with no idea where she is or who has taken her…or why. When Isabel receives a strangely worded note that Lucy is safe, is she trying to give them a clue and if so, what? When they finally have an idea who might be involved will they find Lucy in time and will the danger truly be over? A fast-paced and entertaining read. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Born to be Wilde by Patricia Rosemoor is a cowboy thriller/romance revolving around the kidnapping of eleven year old Lucy Falcon. Her mother had just missed the bus, but Lucy wasn't in the house. Isabel then called Lucy's friend who told her Lucy had not been on the bus at all. He next call was the police and the one after that was Lucy's father, Micah Wilde. Micah and Isabel had never been married. Isabel had gotten pregnant while she was in high school. With feuding families, solving the problem through marriage was a hurdle too high to leap and so the romance was over. Neither had ever forgotten the other, but the hurt went too deep... Now Lucy was missing and she needed Micah to know, to help her find their daughter. The clues were few. They couldn't even find a witness-at first. But, things slowly cam together and they thought they knew where she was.
They had been young and unable to communicate. Plus, their families hating one another made it all so much worse. There was plenty of bad blood and no one seemed to care about young Micah and Isabel. They did all love Lucy, though and would pull together for her. Isabel had overcome her lack of education and was a professional photographer who worked for the newspaper and independently. Micah worked his grandfather's cattle ranch: the only thing he'd ever wanted to do, except make a family with himself, Isabel, and Lucy. Isabel was impulsive, quick to anger, quick to act. Not always quick to think. Micah was a hard-worker and an honest, reliable man. This was a fabulous story, told only as Rosemoor could tell it. It kept the reader on the edge of their seat as Isabel and Micah went from one scenario to the next, always with their hearts in their throats. It is not great literature, but it is an enjoyable, intelligent read. I recommend it.

Born to be Wilde by Patricia Rosemoor is a well-written, steady paced and intriguing story that following an estranged couple and the ridiculous feud that has lasted far too many years. Isabel and Micah through all their differences have strived to be good parents to their daughter Lucy, but when evil enters their lives and takes their precious child, past hurst must be put aside to ensure Lucy’s safe return. Born to be Wilde has everything from suspense and mystery, twists and turns, and heartache and regrets in this emotionally charged story, so if you want to be thoroughly entertained and kept on the edge of your seat, then this is certainly the book for you! A fabulous start to what will hopefully be a new series by Ms Rosemoor.
This was a good book in terms of emotions, regrets, mysteries and twists and turns.
Isabel and Micah are good main characters who are still in pain and that's even before their daughter, Lucy goes missing. And the Wilde-Falcon feud is continuing and just making everything worse. The M.C.'s think the feud is stupid but haven't been able to stop it to this point. Will anyone ever be able to?
There are other people who are interesting in the story. Their number is not overwhelming and the story is easy to follow. Well, that part is but the mystery of what happened to Lucy won't be quite as easy for the reader. Mainly because the that part was written really well.
And I found the ending to be a good one.

Wow fantastic read. The feud between these two families has been going for over three generations, even when Micah and Isobel fall in love and have a daughter, they are determined to keep them apart, when 11yr old Lucy disappears the families have to unite to work out the mystery of who/why, find her and bring her home. This is a wonderful detective story filled with moments of suspense, intrigue and of love enduring against the odds, I really enjoyed this and will be looking forward to reading more from this author.
