Description

Notoriously bad at peopling, Isadora Savoie spends most of her time in the greenhouse or at the local animal shelter, using her Conduit powers of growth and healing.

Content to remain in the background of the Savoie sister shenanigans, she’s reluctantly roped into the mystery of missing neighborhood girls. Now, she’s partnered with a flashy, flirty vampire to find them before it’s too late.

Devraj Kumar has seen and done it all. Three hundred years roaming the Earth as a Stygorn - a legendary vampire warrior who operates in the shadows - has its perks. But ennui has set in. That is, until he has a run-in - literally - with an intriguing witch while on a new assignment in New Orleans. Fascinated by her resistance to his charms, Devraj can’t help but push her buttons in an effort to get to know the shy witch. Fortunately for him, she’s been recruited by the Lord of Vampires to assist Devraj on the case.

Between a Bollywood marathon, supernatural dating app, secret package, and sexy driving instruction, Isadora is in over her head. And Devraj? After just one taste, he’s playing for keeps.

*I received an eARC of the audiobook from the author in exchange for an honest review.*

This time around I was even more excited for this book. The audio experience of Wolf Gone Wild had me pumped! Knowing that the same narrators would be back for Don't Hex and Drive, was a huge selling point. I just think they really bring a great experience to the table and I loved every second of it.

Isodora and Devraj are such opposites and when they come together it is a thing of beauty. They are so delightful in their banter and I love watching them overcome their differences to come together.

The Savoie sisters are a wild ride and you just have to jump on and hold on tight.

5/5 Stars

I love this book even more the second time around, this time as an audiobook. This is the second in Juliette Cross’s Stay a Spell series about the witchy Savoie sisters from New Orleans. Isadora Savoie, who’s special witch talent is a conduit (or a healer) teams up with Devraj Kumar, a Stygorn vampire (very powerful, enforcer amongst vampires) on the hunt to rescue some missing young women. The dual narrators allows you to fully experience the story from the point of view of each main character. I love hearing the male narrator, Aiden Snow, curse as Devraj. He just makes it sound sooo much dirtier!! And Johanna Fairview has a tremendous range of voices and does an excellent job as Isadora. Thanks to Podium Audio for the production of this series… I hope to eventually hear them all!!!

Isadora is the Savoi sister who prefers her gardens, greenhouse, and rescue dogs to peopling. And Devraj is a Bollywood actor who moves in next door with movie star good looks, fast cars, and swoon inducing flirtation skills. They end up working together to solve a mystery of girls going missing in the neighborhood, while both of them work on trying to dampen their flaming attraction and not end up with broken hearts.

I can not gush enough about this series! I am IN LOVE WITH IT! And it's been one of the highlights of my 2020 reading year. Juliette does sexy romantic comedy SO WELL while never, ever skimping on emotional connection, clever background plots, and steam.

I was honestly not sure how this couple would compare to my love for Evie and Mateo but I quickly was won over by the HEAT and longing between Isadora and Devraj!

This book is so much fun, with everything I want in a paranormal romance. A perfectly romantic and sexy read! Cannot wait for Witches Get Stitches! Summer 2021 can't come soon enough!

A ponderer with a passion for pansies and irrational fear of cars meets a beautiful Stygorn vampire with whiskey brown eyes and Bollywood perfection. Oh, what could go wrong? An *ass over teakettle introduction maybe?

Don't Hex and Drive by Juliette Cross has a cozy cottage/small-town vibe, yet the surroundings still elicit corners of danger. Devraj Kumar has come to town, at the behest of the ever-domineering Mateo, to help solve a growing number of missing girl cases. They are in need of help from the Savoie sisters. Isadora being Devraj's most sought-after sister.

It's a mixture of chemistry, longing, and mystery that makes Don't Hex and Drive my favorite type of read. It encompasses a sweetness yet, keeps the action running. Cross has such a beautiful way of conveying characters that come across as real. Even in a paranormal setting.

From the meet-cute to the amazingly 80's ending. I loved everything about this.

Last year I had the privilege of reviewing Don't Hex and Drive by Juliette Cross in ebook form, and when I was offered the chance to review the audio, I couldn't say no (especially after the awesome performance in the first book, Wolf Gone Wild.)

Don't Hex and Drive is the paranormal romance story following witch, Isadora Savoie, and vampire, Devraj Kumar. When Devraj accidentally hits Isadora (on her bike) with his car, he's immediately contrite and unexpectedly attracted to the reclusive witch. In town to investigate the disappearance of young women from New Orleans' bars, Devraj finds himself seeking out Isadora as their paths cross during the investigation.

This is my second time reading the book and it was every bit as good as I remembered, and just as steamy. (Invest in a good fan.)

The audiobook is phenomenal. After the performances of Johanna Fairview and Aiden Snow in Wolf Gone Wild, I knew we would be in good hands. They perfectly capture the characters of Isadora and Devraj (and many of the side characters, too). Their performance is so good that it almost didn't feel like the same two narrators from the first book, but it was just as good, if not better.

The audio is a fantastic way to read this story, and will be released early in July.

Hearing my favorite book in the Stay a Spell series come to life is absolutely EVERYTHING. I've been waiting for Don't Hex and Drive to come out on audio ever since I heard the narrators in Wolf Gone Wild. Talk about an elevated listening experience when you have amazing narrators.

From the opposites attract, witch and a vampire aspects in this read, you really can't go wrong. And their banter to off the pages sizzling chemistry, I mean what's not to love about Isadora and Devraj. For being so different, they complement each other so well.

And don't even get me started on all the steammmmmmmm, Devraj is definitely more than all talk and I was here for it ;-)

This series is the perfect blend of paranormal and contemporary romance, whether you're already a fan or new to this genre, there's plenty to love. And all the recommendations for the audio!

I am so ready for more!

This audiobook is absolutely fantastic!

Aiden Snow is amazing as Devraj. His voice is slow and sensual and the perfect tone of the man he is portraying.

I would like to give a standing ovation to Johanna Fairview. Right at the beginning of the book there is a scene where she has to voice all the sisters in once conversation really fast and I could tell the difference between each sister clear as day. It was amazing how she was able to set each woman's voice apart in it's own inflection and tone. And then she had to speak as Devraj with an accent! So well done. Bravo!

Once again Juliette's written a story that is a beautiful sensual romance with an amazing mystery plot woven into the same story. This audiobook is entertaining, well narrated and will have you on the edge of your seat.

This was a fantastic audiobook! I was a little worried with Devraj and his accent that the narrator would not get it right and it take me out of the story but Aiden Snow did great! Johanna Fairview was once again fabulous! I love Isadora and Devraj's story so much! Everytime I read a Stay A Spell book it makes me want to visit New Orleans so bad, Juliette's description of everything is just amazing! I can't wait for the next audiobook!

Listening to this audiobook was…everything.

When I read this book back in September of 2020, it WOWed me. Now after listening to it, I am blown away with how the amazingly talented narrators brought my favorite witch and vampire to life. If I hadn’t been in love with the fierce and powerful vampire, Devraj Kumar, I definitely would be after listening to this audiobook.

Aiden Snow’s velvety smooth voice does things… *sigh*…delicious things, to many parts of my body.

I thought this story was intoxicating before, but this…this audio rocked my socks off.

I absolutely loved the audio of this book.

I have already read the story, which is also amazing.
But both the narrators do a fabulous job in bringing the characters to life. I love hearing their words, their conversations, the steamy scenes....!!!

Devraj and Isadora are FIRE together. And just to make it clear, no, the narrator does not do an Indian accent. As an Indian, I don't mind it at all. Devraj is centuries old and has traveled all over. NRIs lose their Indian accent in a few short decades. Devraj not having an Indian accent is entirely fine by me. Also, I'd rather not hear dirty talking in an Indian accent.

Highly recommend this book in audio format!!
