The World of Coral Reefs is a beautiful book! It is written in a clear and engaging way for children to feel empowered and educated about our Coral Reefs, as well as ocean. Excited to buy a hard copy. - Maureen Healy, author of The Emotionally Healthy Child and The Happiness Workbook for Kids

This is a short picture book about the biology of coral reefs and the way they have been affected by climate change and pollution. The illustrations are as vibrantly beautiful as you would expect a coral reef to be. Additional educational tools are included at the end of the story.

This colorful dive into coral reefs will be a fun interactive read with younger kids and engaging independent read for older elementary students. Images bring the text to life and provide examples to support readers in their understanding of new material. The glossary at the end of the book provides another source for kids to look up new bolded vocabulary in their quest for new knowledge. Resource links at the end of the book provide further reading on various topics related to the locations, biology, and conservation of coral reefs around the globe. Educator resources are also linked for those wishing to utilize this rich text in their classroom. This book is a great addition to any personal or classroom library!

Perfect nonfiction book for kids! Beautiful, detailed illustrations. Not too text heavy but full of information. The important words are easy to see in bright yellow and there are captions on most pages with extra information. I hope this becomes a nonfiction series.

My daughter, who adores sharks (and sleeps with a soft one), absolutely loved this book. She dips in and out of it, learning about the underwater world, but it could also be read as a bedtime story. There are interesting facts on each page as well as soft illustrations that appeal to children. As a parent, I also really liked the way the book encouraged children to think about their senses in order to improve their learning experience. I'd recommend this for any child who is interested in the seas!

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.

This is a beautifully illustrated book all about coral reefs. We learnt so much reading this and it is a lovely book to dip into and share together.
There are pages on the different types of coral and how they are formed, where to find coral reefs, which animals live near them and how to protect them.
The illustrations are stunning and really capture the coral reefs in all their beauty.
This would be a great book to have in a school library or classroom or just a lovely book to read at home together.
Thank you to NetGalley and Storey Publishing for this ecopy.

This book is incredible. The illustrations are so beautiful. Each page is a work of art that will cause even the youngest of readers to lean in. The content is well suited for older children or teens, With the gorgeous illustrations, you can hold the attention of younger readers too. This is a great book for classrooms and libraries. I would suggest it as a gift for elementary school teachers! This will turn every child into a marine life fan.

The publisher made a copy of this book available for review via Netgalley. This is my honest opinion.

The World of Coral Reefs is one of the most comprehensive books on coral reefs that I have seen for an elementary audience. The author uses scientific language, but supports it with in-text definitions and a glossary in the back. After all, if kids can learn Tyrannosaurus rex, they can learn mutualistic and zooxanthellae. Before reading this book, I didn't know what zooxanthellae were.

I know this book will be popular with students because of the bright, appealing illustrations, but they will also learn what a coral reefs are and what they can do to protect them.

Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What a fantastic children's book! The illustrations are so vibrant and engaging. Absolutely beautiful. As a science teacher I am blown away at the various different biological topics discussed in this book from ecology, biodiversity, microscopy, cellular reproduction. These topics were explained in a way that a child could understand without watering down the content or the vocabulary used. Fantastic book! Highly recommended!

The World of Coral Reefs is engaging and informative without feeling heavy. This book does a nice job of thoroughly covering a variety of reefs, animals that call reefs home, soft vs hard coral, and reproduction. Then the reader goes beyond animals to explore the connections between reefs and humans and how they are threatened. Overall this is really well written with soft, beautiful illustrations. This book would make a great addition to home and school libraries.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the Ebook ARC of The World of Coral.

I love books that allow me to learn as I read. The World of Coral Reefs is a wonderful nonfiction work about the coral reefs from creation, purpose, animals that live in the reefs, and how we can save them. This work covers it all. In many ways, it made me want to hop a plane for the nearest reef. Great information highlighted with wonderful illustrations. I highly recommend this book and will most likely purchase copies for my nieces and nephews.

Coral Reefs are an incredibly important piece of biodiversity, and Spencer was able to beautifully dilute the topic just enough to make it more understandable for younger readers without cutting down on the information. With lovely illustrations coupling the definitions and text, this is surely a success within the children's nonfiction section.

Even though this book was written for children, I learned a lot about coral reefs while reading it. Spencer did such a nice job compiling info about reefs, the different types of what they are made of, what kind of animals find nourishment and shelter in and around coral reefs, and facts about how climate change is affecting the oceans and reefs as well as what kids can do to help protect the oceans and slow or prevent climate change. The illustrations by Alexandria Neonakis were colorful and realistic, giving the sense that you are actually underwater, looking at the ocean floor. I really enjoyed this and will be sharing it with my young nieces and nephews. *Advance copy provided by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
