Thank you NetGalley and Gean Penny Books for a copy of "Esther Eagle Can't Soar" in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is a colourful book with cute characters that will appeal to children. Esther is bored. She feels she goes to the same school, home, tree, rocks, basically everything in her life is the same.

The more she thinks of boredom, the more it grows. She wants to soar but her mother just tells her to sit and be pretty as she can't leave the habitat. When she is laughed at she decides that she doesn't want to be pretty, she wants to soar.

She is sad and refuses to budge until her father finds a way for her to soar and live her dreams.

Esther is a young eagle and she is learning to fly and soar. She is showing off for some people and tries to soar but learns a terrible reality, she is in a habitat and can't soar. She so wants to soar. Her parents tell her she can't soar so she pouts. She pouts and pouts for several days because she can not achieve her dream of soaring. The her dad gets an idea and helps her achieve her goals of soaring. A great lesson for kids that sometimes you need a little help to soar and achieve your dreams. And when you do achieve them it is worth it.

thanks a lot to NetGalley for giving me the advanced copy of the book and to the author.

This book, although a children's book, also serves as a help, as the eagle didn't give up for being able to soar, and this book gave us a teaching "We can do it".

Esther has not tried to fly. Her father wants her to try but mom says no. Due to boredom, she decides to up the tree by jumping on one branch to the next. When Esther reaches the top of the tree, she decides to try flying. Does Esther fly?

The author’s simple prose is perfect for the picture book’s story. The illustrations are colorful and fun to look at! It’s a great story that shows Esther’s bravery and self-confidence.

Esther Eagle is a young eaglet that wants to soar through the sky uninhibited. She dreams of a time when she will be free to do so. Unfortunately she is fenced inside her habitat and her dream cannot be fulfilled.

Her mother has no patience with her and tells her to be still, preen, and look pretty. Esther is bored with her life, dislikes that people laugh at her, and finds that nobody understands how much she wants to break away and soar except.... her loving father. He works with the Zoo staff and together they create a way for Esther's dream to come true.

This book is inspiring and its positive message encourages kids not to give up but believe that their dreams actually can come true. The book highlights Esther's bravery and finally, at long last, her self-confidence! The illustrations are colourful and expressive. I only gave four hugs because the author doesn't follow through and let the reader know how her Dad achieved Esther's ability to soar. I think that would have been a perfect ending.
