—JENNIFER HARTMAN, THE US REVIEW OF BOOKS
"Paris Secrets . . . combines a pun-filled culinary adventure in Paris, France, with a historical family mystery from World War II. This is a fast-paced tale of intrigue. . . . Readers . . . will be riveted by this impactful story about friendship and valor, past and present.”
—D. DONOVAN, SENIOR REVIEWER, MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW
"The story’s tragic historical background is dramatic and includes tales of inspiring heroism while also shedding new light on Jake’s complicated family, a throughline in the series. “I thought I was just Irish, and now I might be French and Jewish, too,” he muses. Suspenseful action scenes take readers through the sights of Paris while the baking contest is lighthearted fun. . . . An entertaining adventure that blends several tantalizing ingredients."

Teenagers Jake McGreevy and his best friend, Ben Meyers, are in Paris to participate in a televised baking contest at the Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School during their spring break. Jake also wants to solve the mystery of a family picture from 1940 taken in Paris that belonged to Jake's mother who died when he was an infant. The picture leads them on a adventure involves treasures of Jewish families hidden from the Nazis by Jake's great grandmother and her network of brave people who helped get the elderly, the sick and and children of Jewish families to safety. Jake finds family he didn't' know he had and new friends along the way. While this book is written for the young adult, it was very entertaining and also gives you an appreciation of what was going on in Paris during World War II and the courage of everyday people.
