Jimmy, known by his friends as Meathead, is struggling to keep a secret, he wets the bed. Together with his dog and his pet ferret, Meathead rides his Big Wheel to misadventures and shenanigans in the gully, a swampy stream that cuts through his neighborhood. Following older kids leads him into trouble. As usual, Meathead only learns his lessons the hard way. With his secret exposed, he realizes that catching frogs, riding bikes, and impressing friends seems important, but it’s nothing compared to the precious lives of his beloved pets.

Advance Praise
Praise for Book One - Growing Up Meathead:
Growing Up Meathead – a 2020 NYC Big Book Award Distinguished Favorite - Preteen and Teen Fiction
“Meathead is a well-earned nickname because, if there’s a dumb choice to make, Jimmy will make it. These stories are about being a kid, about dealing with peer pressure, about having a logic system with priorities completely alien to an adult mind.” –Dr. Jane Lindskold, New York Times bestselling author of the Firekeeper Saga and many other works
“Meathead stories are a fun read about all the things kids try to avid growing up and still turn out to be decent. Thankfully, Jimmy went through it all and was cool enough to share it with us. Read it!” –Kirk McEwen, 98 Rock in Baltimore
“The Meathead stories are thrilling, hilarious and dreadful as he stumbles experiencing losses, celebrating victories, and searching for absolution.” –Jonathon Scott Fuqua, author of The Reappearance of Sam and winner of a Booklist Editor’s Choice
“A sweet snapshot of a 1970s suburban American childhood.” –IndieReader
