The Release of Jonathan Flite

I totally loving this series and am so happy that netgalley helped me discover it!!
In each book were getting closer and closer to proving what happened to the Idle County Seven. I love the way it switches from the past to present and how in each book while there are mutliple persepectives ,the main ones we get are of Jonathan, and one of the kids that went missing.
I love seeing him finally being believed and really growing as a person., and each time he tells someone one of the memories he has it give me goosebumps..

I was so happy to see that there are going to be an addtional 4 books in this series.. I just need more of Jonathan and I can't wait to see whats going to be revealed next!!

The Release of Jonathan Flite is book 2 in the Jonathan Flite series and man is it a good one. I was worried that it might taper off from book 1 but it keeps right on flowing. It is fantastic. We start where we left off after book 1 with Jonathan living with his mom and Jimmy and Sounder are along for the ride in most instances. He is still struggling with getting people to believe the memories of the kids from MN as well as having religious nuts trying to off him. We also go deeper into Molly and Elijah's characters. Both are really a highlight of book 2. They have a helper who is a local librarian named Ms. Grimes. As seems to be the theme in all the books so far, there is much more to her than meets the eye. I just love how all these characters connect in some way, it is such clever writing. The story is getting better and better. I still can't believe I was unaware of these books until now. It is a fantastic series. Off to read book three now. :)

Thank you Netgalley for the copy of this great book! A perfect following to the first tome, we follow the same characters and discover deeper a few others. I liked that the author added reminders here and there (as when mentioning one of the 3 FBI agents, "the blonde ") so that we don't get mixed up between the many many characters evolving between the pages, the different years described and the so finely intertwined plot lines. I was quite shocked by Damon, who does unspeakable things yet somehow manages not to be locked up right away and to get even deeper in his madness. I liked that some chapters of the same year are not told in their chronological order and that Shelly doesn't know more than we do about what happened so that the suspense hangs almost the whole length of the book. My only annoyed comment would be that the titles of the different tomes are very similar and I need to Google the series before opening the next book to get them in the correct order. Please add a book number to the title or the cover! I can't wait to read the next books!

Overall this was a fun, exciting book that gave me several hours of escapism and enjoyment. Id definitely read other books released by this author.

The Release of Jonathan Flite is a novel that’s hard to place as it falls into the realm of time travel, psychic abilities, action, and “fitting in.” This is the second in the series and I wish I had read the first as it was difficult to pick up what was going on seeing as there were so many characters.

Jonathan has the memories of seven children who all disappeared in Idle County ten years before he was born. Everyone thinks he is crazy, and now, on the cusp of his 18th birthday, he is being released from the centre where he was kept for the murder he committed. The memories come and go, and it’s as if he was right there at the time when things happened to the seven. With parallels being drawn between the memories and a nuclear terrorist attack the previous year, things are beginning to be taken more seriously than before.

Jonathan will be faced with a divided public when he gets out – some will believe him, and others will fear him due to the religious and scientific implications of the actual memories. Memories that could have consequences for the company that seems to be behind so many things that are “good for the world” yet…

On my second readthrough, I appreciated the book more. Initially, I had found it fascinating to start, then it hit a patch that made me slow my reading and I got confused, and then it speeded up again. There are so many character dynamics in the story and to be reminded of the angst felt when younger about fitting in to the world, it brought memories back to me too (just not the memories of the IC7 though).

I found the book dealt with a lot of different issues in a very open way, and covered things like bullying, homosexuality, blended families, feeling alone, where you fit in in your family, and different takes on religion. The characters came across on the page as so “real” that you could feel the emotions as they felt them. As the story progressed, you were fed bits of info that felt like they didn’t connect, and then all of a sudden, you’d realise where they fitted and it would be an aha moment. I liked that the book concentrated on certain characters and I think the same thing will happen in subsequent ones so that each main character has their own story.

The writing was very fluid, and the chapters being divided up between timelines didn’t interfere with the comfortable flow of reading. The chapters labelled with the infinity sign helped to join it all up.
I look forward to seeing how the characters progress in the next instalment (yes, I have it!) and where this journey is taking us.

Jonathan Flite was born into a wealthy family and raised by a nanny. He was late speaking and then talked in French instead of English. When he talked about the memories of seven teens inIdle County, his mother is freaked when she is able to find out about the seven dead teens existed. She doesn’t know how to cope with his memories so she speaks to psychiatrists and has Jonathan incarcerated as she thinks he is insane. A Dr. Lumen, a psychiatrist, becomes interested in Jonathan’s story for reasons unknown besides known. Elijah is one of the seven teens that Jonathan has memories of. While Elijah was being bullied, Molly Butler comes into a bullied incident and stops it. A friendship develops between Molly and Elijah. Why?

The novel is the second in a series. The author has written an excellent story that has three storylines which are skillfully interwoven. The novel is a mystery, parent-child relationships, death and more. It is creepy and unnerving at time. The novel is fast paced with action throughout. The characters are well described. I felt as if I know the characters and understood what happened in this novel. I can’t wait to read the next one. I am hooked on the series!

Book 2 in a trilogy that will definitely leave you looking at the news differently. Jonathan Flite is a serial killer, loose on the streets and ready to kill again. The story brings together victims, witnesses and law officers to build a story that will keep you reading long into the night.

I really enjoyed book 1, so I was excited to be able to read this one. Beier picks right back up from where he left us, and doesn't stop until the very end. Once again, he has written a complex, tangled story that grips the reader from the very beginning and doesn't let up until its over. Definitely one of those that gives you a reading hangover.

I thoroughly enjoyed book 1 in this set so was excited to read book two and it didn’t disappoint. Fast paced, enthralling and unexpected in parts. I really think these books are superbly written. Thank you.
