This is the Bible of intermittent fasting. I loved how it not only explained various options but it also explained the why. It gave great information that is based on research. Honesty the only book on intermittent fasting you will need complete with ways to get more active

The book is a very fast read: straight and to the point. It lays out the different fasting types, why one might be better than others depending on your body's needs, and the health benefits you receive from that regimen. There is a segment on appropriate fitness for those fasting. The section covering women is fairly thin - the focus here is getting you up and running on fasting by providing the options in a very abbreviated (but understandable) manner.

The fasting sections are useful but the 'extra' exercise routines are pretty useless (ever try to exercise from written words?). The gist of the exercise section is that walking is your best friend. If you are looking for something quick and easy but not too in depth, this is a decent read.

I have tried intermittent fasting before for a short while but life got in the way. Now retired (and no need to eat inbetween working hours), I intend to try again. This book is the best companion, cheerleader and advisor I could have. Full of informative and sensible suggestions and tips.

A beautiful look though how to utilize your inner light in life and how to make your life brighter.Highly recommend. Really have been wanting to get back into IF and this encouraged me to do so while answering a lot of questions and shedding light on a lot of myths. Especially loved the reflection to true life to humanize my feelings and relate. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A helpful resource for people who want to understand the benefits and details of intermittent fasting. As someone who is trying to make healthier choices, but not necessarily fast, I still found this very useful. Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is perfect for anyone who is interested in intermittent fasting. It has facts from experts. It explains how it works for your body. And goes into detail about each different intermittent fasting type.

I have recently read five intermittent fasting books for beginners. I can honestly say, this one is the best. I love that it has a focus on women. It outlines the metabolic differences with intermittent fasting between men and women. It covers myths related to intermittent fasting. A large portion of the book is also dedicated to the importance of exercise and types of exercises with actual exercises explained. There is a focus on the importance of foods eaten and what food to avoid when breaking your fast. The only thing I would maybe add to this book is a section on recommended fasting based on age. I would recommend this book to any one looking to start intermittent fasting and want the information to be easy to understand and relevant.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook of this title, received in exchange for an honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Definitely worth looking into if you wish to lose weight
I have been doing my own version of intermittent fasting for a good few months now, not intentionally though, but I have in fact lost weight. Years previously I’ve tried the 5:2 diet but not with much luck. I’ve also lost weight by healthy eating and cutting out alcohol, and whilst doing that I’ve subconsciously cut out eating during the day, and have in fact found myself doing 18:6 fasting a few days a week. I’ve then read this book, which I must say I found very informative, lots of ideas and tips and tricks. One thing I didn’t find out was if 18:6 is something you do 7 days a week, or just a chosen few days. I’m interested to know, and having read the book, I’ve looked into joining the associated social media group to find out. Highly recommend if you want to look at the different ways you can enjoy this lifestyle.

The author is very thorough in detailing what intermittent fasting is all about.

- How intermittent fasting works for women in particular
- What intermittent fasting is, why and how it works
- How intermittent fasting affects key hormones
- Advice on how to get started and some tips and tricks to make it easier
- Popular types of intermittent fasting - Advice on how to combine intermittent fasting and exercise
- A bonus section with tips and advice on how to walk yourself to your ideal weight
- Why a healthy diet is so important, and which diet is the healthiest and easiest to follow in the world, as well as how to adopt it?

I think the explanation could have been condensed to less pages, but overall it's a great starter book for anyone not sure if this is something they can do.

One of the newest ways of eating is intermittent fasting. I have heard people talking about this but wasn't sure about it. On the podcast Feel Better Live More a renowned cardiologist spoke about his patients using intermittent fasting were living longer and better after suffering cardiac issues. He mentioned that fasting for women was different than men though and didn't go into detail. Leaving me confused and wondering what to do. Healthfit Publishing stepped into that gap and wrote a whole book called Intermittent Fasting for Women.

If you thinking of trying fasting this is a great place to start. The different types of fasting are explained and how to get started and what to do when you hit the maintenance stage.

My mom and I were never able to lose weight until we tried Intermittent Fasting. She lost 20 pounds. I've lost 15. For several years nowwe've kept them off by sticking to the 16:8 fast. Mom is in her 80s, and I'm going on 60. Again, no diet or exercise regimen ever helped us shed the weight that most women gain after age 50, but daily fasting did, and it comes with a host of other health benefits.

This book lists those benefits. I won't repeat them all here. There are also potential drawbacks that may keep some women from adapting this lifestyle change. Pregnant, nursing, underweight, or anorexic women, you can skip the first half of the book. The second half explains how walking is the perfect companion to fasting, and walking can deliver the same cardiovascular and muscular benefits of running, and we all know running is not for everyone. It's high-impact and hard on the joints.

So, it's simple: eat during an 8-hour window and fast (water only, zero calories) for the other 16 hours, and walk every day, and you can lose weight and be more fit. If the 16:8 method doesn't work, there are others. It may sound daunting and the first few days may be challenging, but it doesn't take long to get used to eating only one or two meals a day.

Wait, fasting and walking are good, but we can do MORE, and we must! We need to eat healthy food (the Mediterranean diet is highly recommended) and cut way back on processed foods and junk food - and in addition to walking, we can do calisthenics, yoga, pilates, isometrics, weight lifting, lunges, and other exercises to make sure we really are in good shape.

Oh, there's always a catch.

Well, it's still a useful book, and a good lifestyle for most of us.

Intermittent Fasting for Women must be a really hot topic. Typing the words into the Goodreads search bar, at least a dozen books popped up with these starting words, followed by whatever distinguishes one book from another on the same topic. In this case, it's "Intermittent Fasting for Women: :A Guide to Creating a Sustainable, Long-Term Lifestyle for Weight Loss and Better Health! Includes How to Start, 16:8, 5:2, OMAD, Fast 800, ADM, Warrior and Fast 5!" - a lot of words for a title! - and so far, I'm not finding it at Goodreads.

So, you can find any number of books on this subject. Is this one better than others? I haven't read enough of these books to say which one is the best.

NOTE: I received an Advance Review copy of this book via NetGalley.

Woah! I have been intermittent fasting for the past couple of years but this book filled all of the gaps in my knowledge (which I didn't even realize were there!) Heavily research-based which I appreciated. I would highly recommend this to any woman looking to begin intermittent fasting for herself.

Like many, I've been hearing a lot about this lifestyle. This is a very informative, comprehensive book. I have a much better grasp on intermittent fasting after reading this. It's easy to understand and a lot of the information makes sense. I particularly like that it doesn't make outrageous claims.

I thought this book was very good at explaining fasting and how to do it. I have never tried but I know a lot of people that recommend. I found many helpful tips in this book, but have not tried out yet.

As someone who has struggled with weight all my life, I am interested in the latest and greatest, or so the hype always says. I liked the way this book did not come out and make wild unsubstantiated claims nor did it recommend courses of action that would be threatening to life and limb. After a lifetime of looking at the various plans, the old adage is true. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Over the years, portions, choices and exercise have been the three anchors of any sustainable program. Even in the midst of explaining what intermittent fasting is and how to do it, the author still went back to the basics. Without those three fundamentals, nothing, not even intermittent dieting, will work long term.

It also looked at the fact that we all are different. We lead different lifestyles and we have different tendencies. The beauty of this program is it can be tailored to what works best for you. As someone who already does not snack after my final meal and likes to complete the day’s intake long before bedtime, the 16:8 would be no problem. Others might prefer a total fast day twice a week while others might like a short food window. Whatever suits is what has the greatest chance to succeed.

It may not be the panacea that we so often desire but it does provide some interesting information and some solid ideas of how to better manage your weight. Four purrs and two paws up.

The metabolic differences between woman and men were outlined in a simple to understand way.

This book has helped me begin my intermittent fasting journey and I would recommend it to any newcomer such as myself .

I wanted to learn about intermittent fasting so I eagerly agreed to read and review this book. It has a lot of excellent information about fasting including the different types of fasting, how to start fasting, exercises to help boost your fasting, a comprehensive table of contents, and a list of references at the end. I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted to learn more about how and why to intermittent fast.

This book is a great beginner's guide to different types of fasting, as well as exercise suggestions. It is a "how-to" for fasts of several different types, clearly explained. If someone already knows a lot about fasting, then this book probably won't add much to their knowledge, but this book is perfect for someone just starting to learn about fasting!

Fasting is something me and my husband do about six times a year but it’s part of our faith. So I know I can do it because I have. But I wanted to investigate he ups and downs of it. So I was thrilled I found this book.
This book break down the different fast and what I can actually eat or not it. And it dispelled all the silly myths and there are many. I felt like this book gave a great overview and what happens to a women’s body while fasting. Very informative. It was realistic about how to start and why. And always stressed a healthy diet with exercise. It has quit many exercises (strength training ) and tips if you’re having trouble with the exercise. It even had treadmill yoga walking poses❣️
I think it a great book to starting intermediate fasting and I highly recommend it.
Thanks Healthfit Publishing via NetGalley.

I was really looking forward to reading this book and learning more. It was an interesting read but a lot of the information has already been posted online and in articles so it's not all new. However it is interesting to have all the information together in the book to go back and check

Thank you, NetGalley, for an e-ARC of Intermittent Fasting for Women by Healthfit Publishing.
This book delivered exactly what the description promised. A guide for intermittent fasting designed for a women's body. The book included a lot of information about intermittent fasting as well as practical advice for being successful.

Excellent resource of you are considering intermittent fasting. A lot of great information to help you make your decision. I can’t wait to start and see if I get any results.

This was an interesting read overall. As I am one of those people who always struggled with weight gain and loss after pregnancies and other health issues, this was interesting to read as in what would work for me at this time and other new things are nutritionists pers coming up with to help us being more healthy in a safe way.
I must admit that I flat out refuse to do some of these diets as they seem to strict and I know I will not be able to keep at them unless I end up in the hospital because no calories at all in 24h seems to much for me.
There are however many tips and other tricks that are proving to be beneficial and doable so I’m going to try that instead.
Overall it’s a great informational book that many readers will find it useful in my opinion

This book delivers exactly what the title promises. It was a great guide on fasting and although I don't think fasting is for me, it was a nice and quick read.

I really liked this book but there were a few things that I didn't understand. Some of the dietary recommendations
or deductions from the diet had no explanation as to why, even though a lot of them were healthy.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for a fair review.

I wish I found this book years ago! I dabbled in Intermittent Fasting in the past, relying on a combination of websites, YouTube videos and Facebook Groups for my source of knowledge -- I know, shame on me! This book saves you the time, the question and wonder when it comes to Intermittent Fasting.

This book is very transparent that IF may NOT be for you. It strives to give you all of the knowledge you need to make a decision going forward. It also breaks down the different types of IF, who it is best for, how your own personality type may come into play and how to make the most out of this lifestyle.

I found it informative, knowledgeable and honest.

This was really useful and a great assistance to me as I am doing intermittent fasting and trying to lose weight to help me with my long covid symptoms.

All in all really really good.

I was given a free copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.

Intermittent fasting has become such a big thing, that curiosity got the better of me, and I picked up this book. It's easy to read, and informative, but I'd want to do more research and talk to my Dr before I tried any fasting on my own. I do like the variety of plans included, and all the different suggested exercises. Not sure if it's something I'd follow word for word, but a good starting point if you're curious about intermittent fasting.
