Description

You have the right to remain...sexy.

As sheriff of Redwood Ridge, Parker Maloney has learned to bite his tongue at the ridiculous antics of the town's matchmakers. He's just grateful they've never messed with him before. Except it kind of seems like he's their next target. They keep sending him on one wild goose chase after another with a single common denominator--Madeline Freemont. Whatever. Maddie spent their youth terrorizing him and he has zero interest in reopening the claw marks. No matter how beautiful or intuitive or funny he finds her. Nope. He's laying down the law on this one. Yet there's something to her hot-as-hell spine of steel act he can't figure out and she's beginning to unlock the cell on his restraint.

Maddie Freemont's no newcomer to the cold shoulder. Most of the town never warmed up to her. Or tried. So when her ex leaves her high, dry, and so in debt she's forced onto the street, it's no shock there aren't any offered helping hands. She's making due by taking any odd job she can to scrape by. Even though she would've done anything for Parker's attention once upon a time, the last thing she needs is to be on his radar now. Why they suddenly keep crossing paths is a mystery. But it's becoming increasingly difficult to ignore his handsome, subtle charms--and how he's working his way under her resolve to expose desires she long ago shoved aside.

What I liked best about this story was how thoughtful and mature both of the main characters were. There were so many places where they could have just acted, or reacted, rashly but instead they really tried to think through things and act like kind, respectful adults.

Maddie was an interesting character--I liked learning about how she became the person she was and I definitely grew to admire her. Parker was a little less developed, but he was a nice guy who valued his friends and family and it was easy to cheer for his happiness. I appreciated the chemistry and steam between the two of them and I also liked that the end was settled and hopeful, but also somewhat realistic and respectful of them as individuals who have just reconnected. This is a very sweet, fun diversion that makes for a nice pick-me-up!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Kelly Moran, what have you done?? You broke my heart into a million pieces and put it back together again, with each page I read, in this absolutely amazing, emotionally gut wrenching, incredibly beautiful, romance read.

Parker and Maddie destroyed me and I have absolutely zero regrets. From the moment I started this book, I was emotionally invested in their enemies to lovers story and NEEDED them to get their happily ever after, like it was my job.

I can’t even begin to tell you how hard I fell for both Parker and Maddie. He’s a man after my book loving heart and she is the strongest, most honorable heroine I have ever come across. There were parts of her story that gutted me and there were moments I wanted to reach into my kindle and throttle some small minded, asinine people who deserved a punch in the nose. But by the end, my faith in humanity and love was restored.

I won’t be forgetting this book anytime soon - 𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘 just may be my FAVORITE romance read to date - I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

Under Pressure was a very good story, full of humour and emotions.

This is the last book set in the small town of Redwood Ridge where everyone knows each other and there are no secrets.
This city is ruled by three women who like to help cupid, playing matchmaker for the young folks.

I’ve enjoyed to read how Parker, the handsome sheriff, and Maddie, his beautiful and unattainable counterpart, page after page overcome their hurdles and many doubts in order to find happiness, love and approval.

I’m going to miss this bunch of characters but I’m sure Kelly Moran is already at work to give us more of her words and our next favourite novel.

Well, another great book in the Redwood Ridge series (full disclosure: only my second though this is book 5). I read the book in one sitting, and though it didn't give me all the feels--like Residual Burn did--it gave me about 85 percent of them. Maybe 90.

Here we have Parker, the good-natured and hunky small-town sheriff and the former town mean girl. Maddie has been back in town for about three years but has been living under the radar due to largely unearned town antagonism. For the most part, the town shuns her for the grave misdeeds of her father and former fiance--unfair--though a fair number of them had been victim of her rich-girl meanness back in high school.

For some not quite believable reason, Parker had no idea she'd been back in town for years, and he'd probably still need in the dark if not for the machinations of the obligatory small-town matchmaking busybodies. Once he finds out, he's on the fast track towards an HEA with Maddie in the starring role. Maddie resists a little, but soon falls under his spell.

I am probably a little judgemental because, like the townspeople, I'm a little bothered by her past, in spite of the very good explanation of why she was the way she was. Having been victim of mean girls myself, I know it just...sticks with you. Maddie really does go all out in trying to redeem her mistakes (and those of her father's and ex-fiances), and I found myself liking her. But maybe I just wish she hadn't been described as SO bitchy in the past.

I also wasn't completely sold on the way the conflict resolves. I feel like she and Parker needed more time together, without any need for grand gestures. In short, I'm happy it resolved, but it didn't make me happy cry like the previous book did. Still, I'll definitely read more by this author.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion. Thanks!

The last story in the redwood ridge series, Parker and Maddie get their HEA, despite setbacks along the way. Well written romance which can be read as a stand-alone.

I received an advanced reader's copy of Under Pressure (Redwood Ridge 5) by Kelly Moran from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this novel. The main characters, Parker and Maddie, were adorable together. I liked their witty banter, the pranks Maddie played on Parker and his good humor towards them, and their story arc. This was a solid romance novel and I found it to be well written. The plot was engaging and the pacing moved swiftly.
