If you're looking for a good gift to help
your child's or grandfather's Faith grow then I'd recommend Jesus Listens by Sarah Young, in this book the author of Jesus Calling helps children talk to God every day. Kids will learn how to pray honest prayers and know that Jesus is always listening to them.

This book will equip parents who want to teach their kids how to pray and talk to God, reassure their children that God is always with them help their kids to read Bible verses every day. Children will learn the daily practice of reading God's Word and talking to Him. They will know that they can talk to Jesus about anything and come to Him when they are afraid, anxious, or worried learn how to thank and praise God and take Him their requests develop the habit of prayer.


I give Jesus Listens five out of five stars!

Jesus Listens: 365 Prayers for Kids is a cute way to teach and encourage kids to pray and read their Bibles. My 9 year old has been wanting to pray more on his own, but was not sure how to do so. This helped him to really break that barrier he had put up and freely pray and talk to God.
We really liked the way this book was organized. The daily prayers are organized by months, with a page marking each new month. This made it easy for my son to find where he left off if his book mark fell out of the book. Each of the devotionals starts with a verse (which my son would read over and over so he could commit it to heart), then there would be a prayer that is written to Jesus that was easy for kids to read and understand. My son says that he feels so close to God while going through his devotion.
Sarah Young is known for her books Jesus Calling - and I loved that this was geared toward kids. It’s well written and backed by Bible Verses. The reading level is geared toward kids ages 8-12. My sons are 9 and 11 and enjoyed this book very much.

This devotional is a great book to encourage children into prayer, to spend time with Jesus, build a relationship with Him and learn how to keep Him front and centre in their lives.
It is a resource for a parent or carer to use every day, to pray with a younger child, perhaps discuss the content a little. Or for an older child could go through it on their own, which would be a great discipline to forge.
Children will learn a lot from the prayers about the nature of Jesus and why He can be an important part of their life. Most of all how much they are special and loved.
There is one for every day of the year, with a Bible verse to introduce it, a prayer to read through and some suggested additional Bible reading to follow up.
It is a gentle devotional that will help to build lifelong habits of prayer and Bible reading, packed full of truths and encouragements that will provide daily sustenance.
