Description

I know who you are...

Laura Sharples has worked hard for every penny she's earned, and is now a successful businesswoman who runs a handful of designer fashion boutiques. But it wasn't so long ago that she called herself Crystal and worked the streets of Manchester. Though she's put her past firmly behind her, she's never forgotten what it took to beat her addictions and raise her daughter, Candice, to expect better.

I know what you did...

Candice is proud of how her mum turned her life around, but when her boutiques are targeted in a series of attacks, the stress takes its toll on Laura. Candice fears her mum may be falling back into her old habits in order to cope, and it's driving a wedge between them. Luckily, her boyfriend Thomas is on hand to support her, and her troubles don't seem to have put him off.

I'm coming to get you...

As the attacks escalate, the police have no leads and it's making Laura paranoid. It's clear there's someone else out there who hasn't forgotten who she used to be.

Someone who knows what she did...

Someone who won't stop until she loses absolutely everything...

I know who you are...

Laura Sharples has worked hard for every penny she's earned, and is now a successful businesswoman who runs a handful of designer fashion boutiques. But it wasn't so long ago...

This book is book 5 of the working girls series and it lived up to everything I thought it would be .
It is very fast paced and gripping. Heather burnside has managed to tie in these books so well .
I honestly do not think this series gets the credit it deserves as this writer is up there with all the amazing thriller writers that are out there just now.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book I've read by Heather Burnside but this book is the 5th in the Working Girls series. I feel like it works just fine as a stand alone book but I definitely want to read the others.
This book is perfect for when I need something gritty and engaging but not too deep to read. It's somewhat predictable but does throw in some twists.

Every time I thought I had things sussed, along came another surprise!! So rare for a story to catch me out, so well done to the author. I LOVED IT!!! Clever, beautifully written and entertaining. And, what is unusual in the mass market of contemporary domestic noir/psychological thrillers, characters you actually care about.

Another fab book in the Working Girls series. This instalment focuses on Laura (Crystal) and her grown daughter Candice. Fast paced but quite predictable. Nonetheless a very enjoyable read.

Fab fab fab!!!

Heather Burnside pulls another cracker out of the bag, I was totally engaged and engrossed throughout, who is it, who is it!

Laura, formally Crystal has turned around her life and is now business owner, her past catches up with her and someone is out to destruct.

This can totally be read as a stand alone but highly reccomend you read Crystal to get the background story of Laura and daughter Candice.

High five from me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Crystal gave up her life on the streets to make a better life for her and her daughter Candice. Just when she thought it was all behind her the past comes back to haunt her and demesne is trying to sabotage her legitimate businesses. But when she discovers who it is, will anyone believe her? Brilliant read, with a good twist.

This is the fifth book in the Working Girls series but it reads great as a standalone. This is, I think, the third in the series that I have read and the author needs to be applauded as she uses everyday language to progress the story and she has a great way with the way she writes dialogue as you feel that you are in the room listening to a conversation. Obviously we are talking gritty crime about working girls here so the details have to be there but the author deals with them with compassion and understanding and there are a few twists and turns along the way. The characters grow on you and you begin to hope that things work out well.
Don't be afraid of the subject matter as this is an enjoyable book that is difficult to put down
