Description

Fr. Joe Laramie, North American director of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, offers a nine-day retreat that draws on the wisdom of Ignatian spirituality and the Sacred Heart devotion to help you know God’s love and desires for you.

Love Him Ever More is a powerful encounter with the Sacred Heart of Jesus that will help you meet Christ in the world today and deepen your personal relationship with him.

Laramie leads you to reflect on your own heart, your wounds, and God’s healing mercy. He takes you on a journey of reflection on the Incarnation, the ministry of Jesus, and God’s call for each of us today. This personal retreat allows you to engage in Ignatian contemplation by using your imagination and five senses to encounter Jesus in the gospels and reflecting on your heart, the heart of Christ, and all hearts.

Each day begins with a quotation from the Spiritual Exercises and a grace to pray for, a personal story from Laramie, and contemplation on a gospel scene, and ends with reflection questions and a prayer.

Some books grab hold of your heart and don't seem to want to let go.

I found that to be the case with Love Him Ever More: A 9-Day Personal Retreat with the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Author Fr. Joe Laramie, SJ, has a winsome way of weaving together personal stories with the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. He also challenges the reader to engage in imaginative prayer experiences with a specific emphasis on the Sacred Heart.

As I prayed my way through the book, I found myself drawing closer to the Sacred Heart--a devotion which is actually close to my own heart.

I believe this book lives up to the author's prayer: "that the Sacred Heart of Jesus may set our hearts on fire."

Great book. I’ve always wanted to do an Ignatian Spiritual retreat but have been rather intimidated. This book is written in a way it can be meaningful and an opportunity for growth each time you read it (and I plan on reading it many more). As an novena it is accessible for a busy lifestyle and I enjoy the way it incorporates history, theology and personal experience.
