I along with pretty much everyone am always looking for ways to rid myself of bad habits and start settings patterns to achieve my goals to developing good positive ones and keeping them that way. I love the way the books is broken down into topics. My particular favorite ones are How to adopt the habit of enjoying your life forever & How to stop the habit of blaming others and take complete responsibility for you. it was clearly written in an easy to understand format and I flew through it. Can’t recommend it enough!

I wanted to read this book, as I personally struggle with bad habits and I wanted to see how Dr. Dan S. Hudson would address them in this book. I loved the chapter about negative self-talk, as that is something I've always struggled with. It was so interesting to see how Dr. Dan S. Hudson described our internal negativity and how we develop it, as it is a product of year's worth of listening to negative opinions from the people around us. I had never really thought of it that way, but this book truly opened my eyes to not only that, but also a couple other things. I also loved what Dr. Dan S. Hudson had to say about responsibility. A highlight for me, was his revelation that the first step to improving things in your life is to accept responsibility, as it's the truth and sometimes we don't always want to see it that way. Overall, I really liked this book and it's definitely an eye-opener for sure! Dr. Dan S. Hudson has such an easy way of explaining things that may seem simple, but are inherently complicated. I absolutely recommend this one!

Whilst the book does reiterate what a lot of other self help books suggest, you can’t get away from the fact that most of what is written is just plain common sense, a thing that is rare to find these days

I got more than I expected from this book. Some days I do feel like the title. But, after many self -help books as this one, I am learning to just STOP all the nonsense about the getting older and just LIVE.

While the information included isn’t novel enough to give you any “a-ha” moments, this IS an excellent collection of well-written good sense advice. For example, the lost skill of accepting responsibility for your actions is always your best way forward. Reading this gave me renewed energy to change some habits, and do what I can to make life better. Overall this is a quick, positive, and helpful read.

My thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for access to a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for this ARC. This was a short but sweet book, I really enjoyed the passages on compound habits and replacing old habits with new ones. Overall, a quick read and more philosophical than concrete, but inspiring and motivating to replace the old with the new.

A very nice book about habits. It is not a collection of clinical research or stories of great personalities. It is a revisit to various habits that we do daily. Anxiety. Procrastination. Negative thoughts. Envy. It discusses tricks and methods to control these habits. How can we develop new habits while reducing bad ones. A useful book. Written in simple and informative language.

I really liked the humility and humor in this. I’ve always been aware of the phrase old habits die hard and I’ve always thought it to be true. Replace me I am Old helped me realize that some things CAN change but you just have to get to the root of why they occur.

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

REPLACE ME AS I AM OLD is a self-help book that helps readers struggling with bad habits to replace them with more rewarding habits. I found this book to be helpful with realistic suggestions to replace old habits. I didn’t find all the tools really relatable, but for the most part this is a book that could help anyone looking to replace habits.
