From stressful triggers to negative thoughts, help your teens cope with and overcome anxiety with these 5 simple steps…

In a world full of uncertainties, social pressures, and stress, it is the adolescents that take the biggest hit.

According to the World Health Organization, one in seven teenagers experience mental disorders globally – with anxiety and depression at the top.

This can manifest in various ways – from extreme self-consciousness and fear of being judged, to an explosion of panic due to the smallest of problems.

No matter how it manifests, anxiety can take hold of a teenager’s mind and adversely affect their health as well as quality of life.

As a parent, seeing your child suffer can be unbearable, especially when they become reserved, isolated, and visibly unhappy.

But due to their plummeting confidence and self-esteem, and their minds full of uncertainty, it can be hard to reach out, and it isn’t possible to just make their issues go away.

So, how can you actually take charge and help your anxious teen?

The answers to your pressing questions await you in this practical guide for parents, where you will discover:

  • A robust 5-step process to help your teen cope with and manage their anxiety
  • How to modify your parenting style – from communication strategies to understanding your role in elevating their anxiety
  • Effective coping strategies for your child – help your teen master the art of breathing, practice mindfulness, and embrace meditation to stay zen even in stressful situations
  • How to work against the panic – adopt a mindful way of parenting as you help your child identify and address panic attacks in a healthy way
  • The power of positive self-talk and how it can help your child eliminate negative thoughts using practical CBT techniques
  • How to overcome social anxiety and improve your teen’s confidence and self-esteem, equipping them to take on the world
  • Bonding through practice – get involved with various exercises and help your teen develop a personal stress-management plan

And much more.

Anxiety can open doors to other mental health disorders, and might even increase with age.

It’s best to give your teen the right tools to understand and manage their anxiety early on, before it gets worse.

Your teen’s future doesn’t have to be defined by their anxiety.

Let your teen rediscover their life by helping them understand and come to terms with their anxiety.

I love the way the author has broken down the book into two parts, the first part to set the scene on anxiety and what it is and the second part on how to operate as a parent and coping strategies, really useful and highly recommend for any parents who have teenagers"

Overall, this is a good book for parents who’s child or teen has anxiety. I am a mental health professional and work with parents and children and I found this book filled with information that I already knew and understood well; this is great for parents as it is easily read and understand. This book includes helpful tips on how to treat and talk to your teen. Overall, I can see myself recommending this book to parents looking for information about anxiety in children.

Lots of useful tips that are good not only for teens, but also for young adults who struggle with anxiety. My teenager said that they found some good ideas in here, and as a parent, I found some good ways to interact and engage with them when their anxiety levels are high.

We don’t have a “teen” with anxiety, at least not yet. We do have a toddler with anxiety and much of this book was still very useful! It was well written and the author seemed very knowledgeable.
