I'll be honest, I'm not at all familiar with the Blackbirds RPG this is based on and I decided to listen to this purely because I saw that Joe Manganiello narrated it. I've also been generally in the mood for spooky, fall season entertainment, and this seemed like a great hour long audio to fulfill that need while I was doing chores around the house today.
The narration was great, he does a fantastic job and his voice is so soothing to listen to. He uses a variety of accents and really brings the stories to life.
The stories themselves were interesting. Even without having any context I still enjoyed most of them, although I bet they're more satisfying if you're a fan of Blackbirds. The final story was definitely my favorite.
5 stars for the narration, 3 stars for the content (again, coming from someone with zero knowledge of the source material), I'd say 3.5 stars overall.
Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for the review copy! All thoughts are my own.

I really enjoyed these short stories… but they were too short! Each one grabbing your attention from the start, but it only left me more curious into each tale.
