Thanks to the Author & Netgalley for allowing my review of this book.
I am pagan and used to be Baptist. I have since then been researching different religions and spirituality. I want to be one with the universe and more spiritually connected.
That is why I wanted this book as Taoism has been something I've looked into for quite some time. I loved how this book has an easy to follow format. Very descriptive and felt complete in answering a bunch of my questions. As I am not an experienced Taoist, I can't speak to validity of all information, but for my purpose it was an interesting read and will refer back to it and use for future spiritual guidance.
Definitely a perfect five star read! If you are someone who’s been looking for a book that would give you everything about Taoism, just grab this book when it comes out!
I do feel the book is written after a lot of research and editing (you will see for yourself when you read the book!). It’s incredible.
The book has 20 chapters which are filled with exceptional information about Taoism, its origin, importance and most importantly on how we can apply the concept.
Well written and well presented, a must have book for the libraries and every book shelf.
Thank you, BooksGoSocial, for the advance reading copy.
This is the book I would recommend to anyone who is looking for all there is to know about Taoism.
In twenty chapters the author explores different insights and approaches to Taoism and it is what I would call a knowledge/information bank.
I was curious about the book and got to read it thanks to the publisher and Netgalley.
This is a fascinating read combining history and theory and practice. Giving information on the various strands of Taoism. This is a highly recommended book for those looking to explore the subject.
A wonderful well researched book on Taoism, full of history, theory and practices. Well explained and it was a joy to read.
I always enjoy learning different religions/philosophy. This book does a great job of explaining Taoism to someone who is just starting to learn and has no prior knowledge.
Very nicely done. This is probably best as in intro text or for those that haven't read a lot on the topic. For those that pick it up, it will likely be very helpful.
Thanks very much for the free review copy for review!!
A great introduction to anyone looking to learn about Taoism. Gives you the whole picture - the history, principles and how to practice it. Loved learning about the rituals and ceremonies that are carried out and the chapter on medicine and diet was fascinating. Well-written and easy to read.
