Description

Everything Alex has struggled to create is about to come unraveled…

Nothing has gone to plan since she joined the PTF. Now mysterious "natural" disasters are happening all over the world, and all signs point to a fae attack. But by whom? And why now?

In the midst of this chaos, she faces Purity protesters, coworkers looking to undermine her every decision, and werewolves who can't stop snapping at each other long enough to prove they're safe to work with.

Now is not the time to abandon her fledgling alliance for an off-the-books mission, but if she doesn't… the fragile peace between the Realms may shatter.

This was another great entry in the Magicsmith series, I was glad it felt like the same series going on from the other five books. The characters were really well done and I had enjoyed everypart of the journey. L. R. Braden has what I was hoping for in this type of book and look forward to reading more from L. R. Braden.

"Your distraction was more than adequate.” I propped myself up on my elbow and leaned over, pressing a long, deep kiss to his mouth. I snagged his lower lip between my teeth when I pulled back, giving it a playful tug. “But we can’t just have sex forever. The real world is still out there . . . . . . waiting.”

Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of CHAOS SONG (Book 6 of the MagicSmith urban fantasy series) by L.R. Braden in exchange for an honest review. Well, Alex managed to negotiate a cease fire between humans and paranaturals, but now she's responsible for making it stick. When an enemy from the past causes a stir, the humans in charge rashly break the treaty. Can Alex convince the paranormals to work together one-more-time in an effort to stave off war one-more-time? Golly, a girl appreciates having a job, but saving humanity from its stupidity is getting exhausting.

I liked the book and enjoy the series. Urban fantasy with an ongoing quest.

The plot was engrossing and action filled. Alex is on an unrelenting pace to legitimize paranormals against Purity's quest to eradicate all magic users. Beneath the hate is a para that is creating chaos that is undermining advances as Alex strives to bring everyone together. Well written leaving you wanting more. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book from Netgalley.

I have come to really like this author, and I was excited to see another book in this universe. Alex is such a strong character, and she is good friend to everyone. Once I started this book, I didn’t want to put it down. We see some old enemies, some old friends, and some great action. The author is so good at her characters, I really, really wanted to punch two of them for being such dirt bags. LOL! If you aren’t reading this great urban fantasy series, you are definitely missing out. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

This author's books are always entertaining, in-depth and well written. I enjoyed this epic fantasy to the last. So many different species with different agendas brought to a battlefield most don't expect to survive. The battles and all the challenges Alex faces collide in a remarkable read.

This gripping series continues as Alex and her friends attempt to stop a disaster caused by prejudice and fear. The world building is extensive and the characters are multifaceted. The relationship between Alex and James is complex and deep rooted. Readers will be drawn into this adventure and want to continue.

Chaos Song was everything I hoped for as this gripping series continues ! Alex is fierce and coming into her own. As she navigates uncertain times and struggles that seem beyond her control Alex not only never loses hope she finally embraces the loving group of friends that have become her family and realizes she not only needs their help she wants it. Alex has grown so much and she has become more then she realizes. I am excited for what comes next as a new dawn rises. Can Alex forge the peaceful future she dreams of or will the war so many want finally come to pass? This is a riveting world filled with amazing characters and a tightly woven plot. I highly recommend it and I find it a must read! Once you start reading you won’t be able to put it down.

Another enjoyable read in the series! Alex, James, and the rest of the gang are back along with some new friends and enemies. With Alex having a new role and working with PTF, she has more on her plate than she can handle. Not to mention Shedraziel is still on the loose and causing chaos wherever she goes. Alex and the others need to stop her before she further damages the relationship between humans and fae even further than it already is. But Alex is having a rough time and nothing seems to be going right. Things get worse and Alex finds herself in a difficult situation. She wants to keep the peace between the humans and fae, but with some many against her, how can she succeed?
I received this novel from net galley and the publisher as an ARC. Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely love this series and just enjoy taking my time whilst reading it. I think what particularly strikes me is the fact that these nefarious Fae are not necessarily beautiful or even pleasing to the eye. They might use Glamour when required but they hold true to their natural forms and dare I say proclivities ? This time we meet Water Fae which truly are astonishing but perhaps even more deadly foes are about to be unleashed because humanity might just be ready for war !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

This was a wild ride from start to finish. My heart was in my throat the entire time.

Alex is now the brand-new Deputy Director in charge of Paranormal Relations at the PTF, but her co-director isn’t very welcoming or supportive at all. An inspection by delegates from the Unified Church can potentially overturn everything that Alex has worked so hard for. The werewolves are having a hard time forming a cohesive team. And when Alex is given an off-the-books assignment to stop another possible war with the fae, tensions at the PTF run even higher.

At the end of the previous book, Of Mettle and Magic, Alex had made all kinds of deals and promises to all kinds of people to prevent a full-scale war and now she has to deal with the awkward aftermath. Her position at the PTF is hanging on by a thread. Alex may have grown more in power, but she still lacks the necessary cutthroat skills to navigate the political waters between all the species. Although this seems to be an advantage in some situations. But above all, Alex knows how to adapt quickly.

It didn’t take long for something to go wrong and then it was non-stop action with some respites for both the reader and the heroes. The big battle was absolutely breathtaking. One thing I’ve always loved about this series is how detailed the fae worlds are described, making them seem very real. The connections between Alex and James, and Alex and her friends, are growing ever stronger and I loved how they worked together and supported each other.

I can highly recommend this series if you like action-packed fantasy. The romance between Alex and James is subtle and continually growing. It is definitely best to read the books in order.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Once again Alex and James take on the evil Shedraziel. Lots of action and supernatural powers. I had not read the previous books so took me a bit to catch up. You don’t have to read them but I suspect it would have helped.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
