Description

An emotionally intelligent guide to setting boundaries with clarity, confidence, and kindness…

This powerful how-to approach to boundaries provides simple, effective guidance to help you know what you need, be confident that your needs matter, and get your needs met while having healthier, happier relationships. Plus, you’ll learn why saying no means saying yes to what you really want.

Good boundaries are essential for healthy relationships. We need them to thrive in our friendships, partnerships, and work life. We need them so we can be more fully ourselves. We also need them to be adaptable. And, we often struggle with knowing how to set boundaries – say no, or state what we need – without stepping on someone else’s toes or risking a relationship. That uncertainty can stop us from setting boundaries where we need them or cause us to sound harsher than we’d like.

One of the most influential teachers in the field of Focusing, Ann Weiser Cornell, shares a remarkably compassionate guide to setting the boundaries you need while creating healthy, happy relationships. If you’d like to set boundaries with kindness and compassion, this book is for you.

Filled with best practices from Focusing, a research-based, body-informed therapeutic technique for creating powerful life change, 21 Days to Better Boundaries helps you identify what you need, know that your needs matter (a lot), and explore kind ways you can communicate your needs to others.

Exactly the kind of book I needed. Sometimes I get too caught up in what people want and what I actually want. It's exhausting and tire you out easily.
This book mentions some amazing points of setting boundaries without anger as well as feeling guilty.
Thank you Netgalley, publisher and author for the arc in exchange of honest review.

Need help setting better boundaries? Take 15 minutes each day for 21 days and you'll be on the path to healthier relationships with Ann Weiser Cornell's book.

This guide provides simple, effective advice on how to identify your needs and get them met while maintaining healthier, happier relationships. Cornell's approach is based on emotional intelligence, and she emphasizes the importance of using kindness and compassion when setting boundaries.

I particularly enjoyed how it was focused on daily 15 minutes commitment which is just the right amount for me to build a habit. It gave me all the tools to find the balance empathy for others and complete self neglect.

21 Days to Better Boundaries is an easy read that is filled with helpful tips and techniques. Cornell provides case studies and exercises to help readers apply the concepts she discusses. The book also includes a section on how to say no, which can be especially challenging for people who have difficulty asserting themselves.

Overall, 21 Days to Better Boundaries is an excellent resource for anyone interested in creating healthy boundaries in their relationships. The advice is practical and easy to follow, and the author's approach is both compassionate and empowering. Make sure you're taking care of yourself first by reading Ann Weiser Cornell’s 21 Days to Better Boundaries.

In a world where we are in each other's business and faces through our connection to the internet, reading this book gave me the subtle reminder that I can draw the line and went a step ahead to suggest how best to do so with kindness and compassion.
It's meant to be read daily and you get to reflect on each step as you go. What I loved most about this book was not in the very beginning, but what came more towards the end- on the most important boundary and that of the self, because it may be easy to draw the line for people, places and things but what about the voices in our heads, the lies we tell ourselves, or the fears that limit us from living an abundant life- how do we identify what is a feeling and what is not?
It's an encouraging read. Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.

I received an electronic copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I wish I could bring the advice contained in this book to my younger self--that self that was conditioned to be a people-pleaser--and give her the courage to stand up for herself, to build those boundaries.

Filled with tips to help you figure out when you need to erect some boundaries, how to do it, how to understand where those who don't like those boundaries may be coming from, and how to respect their feelings while standing your ground.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

21 Days to Better Boundaries is a self-help book for anyone who finds it hard to say no, maintain boundaries, not give in and people pleases. This was such a helpful book to read and as a person who does struggle to maintain boundaries at times in worklife and homelife and often gets walked all over by people who take all they can out of you, I found it a great resource. I'd have preferred this in physical format so I could refer back to it again going forward as I received the e-Arc from netgalley.
This book gives you tips and advice on how to recognise when you need to set some boundaries in place as well as how to do this, how to respect others feelings whilst instilling these boundaries and also understanding the people who may not like the boundaries you are sitting in place and why they don't like it. I found it a great angle to help you understand the other person's view point too.

I love self-help books and think there is nothing better than continually working on improving ourselves, so it is great to see so many new authors and books on such topics. This was a great one on setting personal boundaries, something I think a lot of us can struggle with. Whilst some of it is common-sense material, it is helpful to see lots of examples here. Would definitely recommend.

Personal boundaries are an essential component of a healthy and fulfilling life. They help us to communicate our needs and expectations, protect us from harm, and empower us to take control of our own lives.

By setting and enforcing personal boundaries, we can create healthier relationships, reduce stress, and improve our overall quality of life.

So an inability to set and maintain boundaries can cause real problems on several levels. It often shows up first in our relationships, but I regulary see the knock-on effect in the workplace, wellbeing, and the choices people make. From experience (I'm a psychologist), I'd say poor boundary-setting underpins many of the problems my clients talk to me about.

Self-help is often dismissed as cynical, but I'm a strong advocate for doing something for yourself when you are challenged by many of the issues we commonly struggle with. 21 days to Better Boundaries is a book I happily recommend.

When someone or something is imposing on you and infringing your right, it's easy to think that if you decide to take control by setting (or resetting) some boundaries it will lead to confrontation. One of the things I find persuasive in the book is the compassionate stance it takes. It shows how to protecting yourself doesn't have to mean confrontation or conflict.

This book is exactly what I needed. I think it should basically be a coffee tablet book in everyone’s life and something to reference back to occasionally when you get stuck or need help breaking a pattern. I feel like every person in America could benefit from at least a weeks worth of days in this. Thank you to Ann Weiser Cornell for writing it and NetGalley for providing it. These are tools I will carry forward with me.
