Description

Get ready for a heart-stopping ride as Jack Alexander returns in the highly anticipated third instalment of the thrilling Jack Alexander trilogy, "Ruthless".

After narrowly escaping the clutches of his nemesis Catherine Frazier in the previous book, "Payback", Jack finds himself unwittingly embroiled in a deadly takeover plot that threatens to destroy everything he's worked so hard to achieve.

As one of the Divisional Presidents of a powerful company, Jack's world is turned upside down when his boss, the company's CEO, is nearly killed in a brutal car crash. But that's just the beginning of his troubles. A close friend, an FBI special agent, is charged with bribery and sexual harassment, and Jack is shocked to learn that he, too, is implicated in the scandal.

Determined to clear his name and save his friend, Jack must navigate a dangerous web of lies and corruption while staying one step ahead of those who seek to destroy him. But when Armando Santos, CEO of rival company OMS, enters the picture, Jack's problems escalate to a whole new level.

Packed with pulse-pounding action, shocking twists, and unforgettable characters, "Ruthless" is a standalone novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

Don't miss this epic conclusion to the Jack Alexander trilogy!

After reading “Ruthless” I was angry! Angry that I didn’t think of this! John Wendell Adams creates a world that is so vivid, and so alive, it is mind blowing! This is a textbook of what great writing is. Want to read a book? “Ruthless” should be your choice!

Literary Titan - 4 out of 5 stars

Even though this is the third book in the current trilogy, it is easy to follow along and understand without having read the previous books. As new characters are introduced, Adams does a great job of slowly introducing them to you. The friendships and relationships in the book are simple and realistic. I loved seeing how they all connected and related to each other. I can not wait to see what John Wendell Adams writes next. 4 out of 5 stars "

this was such a great third entry in this series, I had enjoyed the previous two a lot and I was excited to continue this series. John Wendell Adams has a great writing style for the genre and a beautiful way of creating characters. It does what I was hoping for in a mystery genre, and I was invested in what was going on. I look forward to read more from John Wendell Adams.

"Jack realized this was not a negotiation. He was being informed of the decision the board had already made. Now it was time for him to develop a strategy. “The board wants an answer and I need a few days to think about this.”

I need to go back and read the other books in this well written series which offers both an interesting story and some very engaging characters.

This book, Ruthless by author John Wendell Adams, had a great and intricate storyline. It kept my interest and I was eager to read to its conclusion to see how the book would end; however, I felt the author should have limited the in-depth background on a character to just the major characters in the story, or if their background noticeably influenced their behavior. Unfortunately, I felt the story bogged down when he gave an in-depth background on the minor characters. While I love when authors give the reader good background information for a character, having characters that were only in the storyline for approximately two paragraphs and getting background on their childhood and what brought them to that particular place in their lives was, I felt, unnecessary. It made for a laborious read in those parts—I almost wanted to skip through, but didn’t know how important the character might end up being in the story so read every word.
Would I recommend this book to a friend—yes, I would. As I stated at the beginning of this review, it has a great storyline and you do get caught up in following the twists and turns that develop as the story moves along. (I was given a copy of this book from NetGalley for my review of this book—even so, I would gladly pay to read this book.)
