The Flaws of Gravity

I generally request a book based on blurb and cover, and this one is no exception. I started reading this, and at first, I felt like I’d been plopped right in the middle of a series, so much so I went looking for the one before this one. However, I found out this is the first one. Knowing that, I settled in, and I went with the flow of finding out more about what was going on a little at a time, and I quickly fell into the rhythm of the book. I was so invested by the end of this book, I’m ready for more. This is a solid urban fantasy, and Jude is a great, slightly gray moral character who you come to really understand by the end of the book. I can’t wait to read more about this interesting universe in the next book. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Fairies lie. Humans lie. Half-fairy, half-humans lie. Jude’s not great at the whole honesty thing either. This urban fantasy throws us into a world set up human versus fairy with those claiming heritage from both sides are stuck in the middle. They have to pick a side. After being double-crossed by one of the few people she trusted, Jude is recruited to help the Fairies stop that same man from converging the two worlds together. But who can she trust, really?

One of the things I liked most about this book is our main character. Jude is not perfect and sometimes unlikable but not so unlikable that I don’t want to see her succeed. All the characters are so well done. I wish I could punch Aubrie myself. Abe is my favorite though. By far the most likable in my opinion.

This book hit the ground running and did not stop. Action from start to finish. You might think that would make the story a little busy, but it does not. The pacing is so well done. There’s a lot of characters, but nobody gets lost in the shuffle. I think all the characters are well rounded no matter how big a part they play in the story. I just loved the writing in this book overall.

You can read this as a stand alone, but the ending is set up perfectly for a sequel or series of books. I don’t know the author’s plans, but I hope we see more work from them set in this world in particular.

Fans of urban fantasy will love this action-packed tale, full of humor, engaging characters, and a take-no-prisoners heroine, set in exotic Montreal.

Let me start by saying this is my kind of story .I love this authors writing style she opened my eyes honestly i see the world differently now and i mean in a good way .This book deserves a 5 star and i am reading this authors books again cause wow this book was something and l loved it

The Flaws of Gravity is a non-stop action-packed ride from beginning to end. If you're a fan of urban fantasy novels with a heavy emphasis on action and adventure, this book is sure to satisfy.

Caye's concept is both unique and flawlessly executed. She offers a fresh take on the world of Faeries, revealing information to the reader on an as-needed basis without any heavy-handed exposition. The pacing is perfect, with background information expertly interwoven between the thrilling action scenes.

The story is primarily told from the perspective of Jude, the snarky and tough protagonist with a morally ambiguous streak, whose abilities to manipulate gravity are both fascinating and impressive. Although most of the narrative is first-person, we are also treated to a few third-person chapters from other key characters, providing essential insight into their motivations and actions.

The book's beginning is intense and violent, setting a fast pace that continues throughout the novel. Instead of a slow build-up, there is barely a break before Jude finds herself in another action-packed situation, making it an attention-grabbing read.

At times, especially in the beginning, I was a little perplexed because the information was provided sparingly. Although I appreciated the absence of an information dump, the intriguing world left me wanting to know more. Additionally, I think Aubrie's betrayal would have had a greater emotional impact with more background information or a flashback. Nevertheless, I quickly became engrossed in the story and could infer what was left unexplained.

I love when books are set in the city/country/Province I live in, so the setting of the novel in Canada, specifically Toronto, and later parts of Ontario and Quebec, adds a delightful local flavor to the story, with references to landmarks and locations adding to the book's authenticity.

Overall, The Flaws of Gravity is a well-rounded, action-packed adventure that is sure to satisfy fans of the genre.

The writing in this book was phenomenal. I would never believe this was the author's debut novel. The writing style has such a perfect flow with a great combination of dialogue and internal monologues. I also loved the way the plot unfolded, Beautifully written with good characters and dialogue. It's a very detailed book with interwoven characters with good character development. The driving force behind this though is the story, it moves effortlessly and is so engaging
