Description

Finally! An interactive, fun and timely celebration on the art & science of kindness. Aaron Ableman and Justin Wilkenfeld came together for something special with this remarkable celebration of a global movement toward loving-care. Inside the pages of this book are science-backed practices opening the heart, mind and body to how kindness can transform every aspect of our lives. Centering 40 stories of humans who have enlivened themselves, others and the planet with basic goodness, this book challenges us to not only "look for the helpers", but also become one yourself! Whether you are black, white or green, you can be kind.

These rebels of kindness are as old as time and as numerous as grains of sand on a beach. They are everywhere goodness lives. Living and sharing their message is a task for all of us, as we metabolize their wisdom and example into our own lives.

Advance Praise

“Rebels of Kindness strikes a mindful balance of science and creativity. Ableman & Wilkenfeld spotlight leaders from every walk of life who are changing the world through compassion while providing thought-provoking narratives and practical exercises to turn inspiration into application. This counter-cultural mindset of kindness is necessary to help to create a better world.”

—Houston Kraft, Author of Deep Kindness

“Rebels of Kindness is a book I wish America and the world had many decades back. At this difficult time in our history where violence and hatred and division and mean-spiritedness have become as natural as breathing for many, it is so clear to me that what we need are different kinds of blueprints for our humanity, for our collective soul. This book, through its real-life stories, takes us on a fantastical journey of what is possible for you, me, for all of us, if we simply overstand, as we say, that kindness—and love—is a practice worth practicing every single day of our lives.”

—Kevin Powell, civil and human rights activist, poet, filmmaker, author of 16 books

“Rebels Of Kindness combines cutting-edge science, human values and joyful creativity, all with the simplicity that anyone can vibe with! This book explores all of that through the epic stories of those behind an increasingly mainstream movement toward altruism. As any post-apocalyptic meme maker or storyteller knows, we need a mainstream “reSTORYation” across all sectors. Doesn’t love, compassion and kindness seem like good places to start? Please join me in supporting the important work of Mr Ableman and Mr Wilkenfeld as they write the next pages in a more beautiful and fulfilling book of life!”

—Ryland Engelheart, Filmmaker and CoFounder @ Kiss The Ground

“Aaron Ableman's heart is ablaze with activism. Weaving in music, art and his infectious love for Mother Earth, Aaron joins forces with Justin Wilkenfeld to make wisdom accessible and entertaining to all ages. Rebels of Kindness is a how-to-change-the-world book, asking us each to simply stretch beyond our comforts and fears and water our own communities with more compassion. Be careful; wherever you see this book, there's a revolution afoot!”

—Jon Marro: Artist, Author & Creativity Coach

“Our dear brothers of the planet gently walk us into the lap of love. For true love is love-in-action. And this type of kindness is most accessible through a loving heart and still mind. Each story in this book gives both adults and children a chance to be moved by human goodness and then literally practice it through meditation, reflection or action. It’s a creative and inspired approach to teaching the most powerful human virtue: compassion. One story a day from Rebels of Kindness is just what your heart may want and definitely what the world needs.”

This is definitely a book that should be on the curriculum, I would say it should be on every bookshelf but these days everyone is so self centric that they would not take the time to read and consider it. I would love to see this book be a great success and prove me wrong about today's society.
