This novella is engaging and fast-paced. Despite some rivalry and awkward moments when they first meet, Evie and Jake fall for each other pretty quickly. Evie's had some bad experiences with men, and she's skittish. Fortunately, Jake doesn't give up on her.

I'm a sucker for the fake dating trope so I knew instantly that I would enjoy this book.

"People separated by time, but not place" "History was everywhere. All around"

I absolutely loved Sally's description of Ireland and the history within the city of Dublin. The way the buildings were described was beautiful.

The characters were well written and the character development was great. I appreciated that the older characters, Eleanore, Felix and Rita, were written with so much life and not reduced to their ages.

"Home wouldn't be home without you in it."

The relationship between the characters was cute, there were some scenes that were dreamy. The spice was fade to black/closed door but it suited the book. I want to call this an enemies to lovers trope too, but their initial relationship wasn't too hateful despite their first meeting and Jake's assumption that Evie was taking advantage of his grandmother.

Evie moves in with her elderly neighbour when her rented place is being sold. When her grandson comes to visit, as he is in town for business, he thinks she may be trying to take advantage of his grandmother. They are both very wary of each other to start with but when Jake sees Evie with his grandmother he realises how much she cares for her. Jake is obsessed with work and having major issues with the new deal he is trying to broker but he loves spending time with his grandmother and with Evie. He asks her to help with the deal by being his fake girlfriend she agrees and they become closer. They have both been hurt in the past, but they are also both quite closed off and this doesn’t help when things get in their way. I liked how they both took risks and opened up each other eventually and loved the feel the inclusion of his grandmother and her friends brought to the story. I would have liked more information on what happened with Jake’s work I felt as if that part of the story ended a bit abruptly. I loved Evie’s special moment at the end.

I always feel slightly apprehensive when I first start reading a book by an author that I'm unfamiliar with. Will I enjoy their writing style? What if the text is riddled with typos and grammatical errors? And worst of all, what if it turns out to be one of those books that I don't want to finish—yet feel obligated to?

Fortunately, these fears quickly dissipated when I began The Home Share by Sally Clements. In fact, I ended up so engrossed that I finished the entire book in less than a day!

Evie is searching for a new place to live and isn't having much luck. That is, until her elderly neighbour Eleanore, with whom she 'shares' her cat Cleopatra, suggests that Evie live with her. Evie has her doubts at first but it's not long before she feels like she's finally found a real home.

Complications arise when Eleanore's estranged grandson Jake comes to the area on business and decides to crash the home share. Although their first meeting and initial interaction is far from auspicious, Evie and Jake become friends and eventually find themselves pretending to be in a relationship.

The line between fact and fiction becomes blurry as Evie starts to realise that this suspicious, uptight businessman is also thoughtful, compassionate and utterly charming. But the secrets that Jake is hiding might be too much for her heart to handle...

It would be remiss of me to not give a shout-out to Eleanore's character. I love reading about older characters who live happy and fulfilled lives.

Final thoughts: I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet, hilarious and utterly endearing story. A must-read for anyone who enjoys romantic comedies, cute kitties, and infuriatingly attractive men.

Evie and Jake are adorable. I related to Evie quite a bit. I’m not one for confrontation. I love Eleanor and how she meddled. I to would like to be part of all her clubs. I would have loved to see how he made it up to Evie for missing her birthday, although I did enjoy ABBA night after shutting down Global.

I absolutely loved this book. I didn't know the writer, therefore I went with no expectations but it was really great. The writing style was really simple, but beatiful, the book and the characters were written in a way that made me love them. I liked everyone, since the main character and love interest, to the cute grandmother and friends. I must confess that, after reading the description, I was waiting for a "enemies to lovers" kind of book, and sadly for me (an "enemies to lovers" lover) it wasn't that prominent. That being said, the book has one of my favorite tropes: fake dating. I loved how the relationship between Evie and Jake (the main characters) became real at each step.
This is an amazing closed door romance, great for beginners, who want to start with the genre!

I definitely loved this cute rom com! I found it to be a super easy read and I always love a fake relationship story. I love how sweet Jake was and how he was super ambitious and easy to love. I also loved the side characters, I found them to be really thought out and extremely well-written. There truly wasn’t a single character in the story that I didn’t like. I just really enjoyed it. The perfect summer read while I was watching my kiddo play in the backyard.

This book was so sweet! A closed door romance about a sweet couple, Jake and Evie. I loved the meet cute! Sally did such a good job tying those lovesick emotions, from the build up of tension in the fake relationship to the explosion of frustration when the miscommunication became apparent to the reader. The side characters were a blast to read, and if they weren't octogenarians I would want them to have their own stories as well. The book didn't draw me in and consume me, nor did it have any spice/heat which I like a bit of. Overall, a heartwarming, quick and easy read that I would most definitely recommend to a friend.

I enjoyed this cute romcom. My first read from this author did not disappoint. Jake and Evie were so cute, so much chemistry and a great couple. Lots of laughs - the perfect beach read.

Evie, a lovely pet owner decides to move in with her neighbour Eleanor when she had to move out from her previous one. The jovial old lady, Eleanor, was more than happy to accommodate her and especially Cleo, Evie's cat. Enter Jack, Eleanor's very hard working and serious grandson. He suspects Evie of taking advantage of his sweet-hearted grandma and decides to stay with them to keep an eye n her. However, situations change drastically and they find themselves in a scene where they have to maintain a fake relationship in front of Jack's clients- for him to acquire a business deal.

The messy relationships and complicated characters were relatable and well written. The plot was kinda unique with the whole 'home-share' concept. Though the narration seemed dull at times, the story was good and enjoyable. It was fun, cute and heartwarming.

I absolutely loved this book! First it had so many things that I love in it...cats, book clubs, vikings, romance, theme nights and more! I mean the author Sally Clemente totally had me hooked with the cover and the first few lines with the cat and how they call her Cleopatra.

Im pretty sure my favorite character though is Eleanore. OBSESSED with her! She is what I would have as a grandma, so fun and loving. Always having a good time. Of course I love Evie and Jake too. They have a slow burn romance that neither of them thought was going to happen. This is one of my favorite tropes as well, well two them I guess you could say. Enemies to lovers and fake dating. Evie and Jake both don't want to admit they have feelings for each other but it inevitable.

So if you love good romance book with a fun grandma that includes a cute cat and a couple of the most popular book tropes, then this is a must read. Im so glad I gave this a chance and read it. I will definitely be looking for more books from Sally Clemente in the future!

This book has some of my favorite tropes - forced proximity and fake dating, and I really enjoyed this. I loved Jake for the loyal caring person he is. I really enjoyed how his relationship with Evie evolved. It was obvious that, once they worked through outside factors, their relationship would work out. So there wasn't as much tension there, but it was still an enjoyable read for me!

An amazing story . Evie is looking for an apartment which allows animals and she can't find any so her neighbour Eleanore asks her to home share . When Eleanore's grandson Jake comes to Dublin for work from London he doesn't feel good about their home sharing . He thinks she will take advantage of his grandma . When he need to win some clients he ask her to help him and when they think they are couple they start pretenting to be a couple . But pretenting makes them realise that they really want to be together . What happens when the company he works is corrupted and he has to keep secret from her ?

This book seemed to have so many themes that I really enjoy in romances including fake relationships, different living situations, conflict and reconciliation. I really enjoyed the characters and found them to be relatable and entertaining.

A great read. Evie needs a new house and her neighbour offers her a place to stay next door. Jake, grandson of the neighbour, is not too happy, but they end up in a fake relationship so will this lead to more?

I adore faking dating book so this book is right up my ally when it come to books.

I finished this book in one sitting, and I highly enjoyed it! It’s an easy read, and I felt like I was able to relate to and love the characters very early on. One of my favorite lines from the book was “They dissolved like instant coffee grains in boiling water,” I felt like this was a great visual, and showed at that moment how they, Jake and Evie, meshed together. I love Evie’s job, and that the first interaction between the characters was a distant interaction where we don’t realize who he is at first. It wasn’t the job I was expecting, and I think that’s what made it so great. I adored the fireworks moment. I mean who doesn’t love a cat in a story? The side characters are written so well, and I love all of Eleanore’s groups that she welcomes into her home! I’m a sucker for a cartoon cover on a romance book, as well. I can’t wait to look into other Sally Clements books after this one!

Evie has no place to go because all places that she’s looking at won’t take cats. Evie drops off her cat at her neighbor Eleanor watches the cat for Evie while she’s at work, which moves them into having Evie and Eleanor being flat mates. All of a sudden Eleanor’s grandson shows up and sparks fly.

I enjoyed the story telling from Evie and Jakes side plus everything that happens.

I received this book via NetGalley following its release on August 19th. I loved meeting Evie, Jake, and Eleanore, and being welcomed into their home. A truly lovely romance with a little bit of fake dating, a touch of miscommunication, and a lot of found family. I fell asleep reading this book because I didn’t want to put it down, and dreamt I was inside this book.
The writing was well done but the characters really drove this book home for me.

Loved this book could of done with more instead of ending when it did but honestly could not put it down

This was cute and fluffy and sweet, with enough substance to keep you engaged.

It took Evie about 2.3 seconds to win Jake over, so that’s out of the way almost immediately. It’s an insta-love (basically) kind of read, which is perfect for a light palate cleanser read for when you want something cute that isn’t also going to make you sob your eyes out.

Evie’s relationship with Eleanor is so sweet and loving, and the fact that her cat has just selected both of them to become friends makes it even better. This was adorable and so so sweet.

This was a fun, breezy book that I was able to read fairly quickly.

A cute and quirky novella. Very fast paced with a few plot holes and some things completely ignored. However, I very much enjoyed this romcom and would have loved for it to be a bit longer.

Evie has just moved in with the 85yr old Eleanore next door when she meets Eleanore's grandson, Jake. He also happens to be the person who got roared at by her "Duck" tour bus, making him spill his coffee all over himself right before a big meeting.

The story is told in a dual point of view but in the third person, which normally I don't like but it worked for this story and there was no confusion at any point as to who's POV we were reading from. Evie and Jake start off in a pretend relationship in order to impress Jake's clients but it quickly turns into something real for both of them, but as neither are particularly good at talking about their emotions and Jake is distracted dealing with fraudulent activity in the company he works for, there are plenty of misunderstandings.

I think my favourite character in the book though, was Eleanore. She was brilliant and everything you could wish for in a grandmother - she should definitely get her own book!

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a light-hearted, easy read where both characters clearly want each other and without too much drama are able to find their way to a relationship that works.

Evie and Jake meet while Evie is living with Eleanor, Jake's grandma. I didn't mind the book but feel there were a lot of loose ends... like what happened to Global, how does Evie and Jake's family take it with them living with Eleanor. Jake's mom's involvement in everything...etc.

I really liked this book. It was a quick easy read and I loved the characters. Evie needed a place to live and Eleanore gave her just that. I love that Cleo connected the two of them and they became like family. Eleanore is a sweet grandma who has a very busy daily life with her various clubs. I can tell from the very start of the book that Jake is such a kind hearted man and I love that you continue to see that throughout the book.

This is a first time read for me by this author and I would be glad to read more of her work. The home that Evie is renting is being sold so she needs to find a new place to live. Her elderly neighbor, Eleanor, could really use the rent money, so they come to an agreement and Evie moves in with her. At the same time, Eleanor's grandson, Jake is back on business, and he is suspicious of Evie, so decides to move in with his grandmother as well to make sure Evie doesn't take advantage of her. It's a bit crowded with the three of them living together, a d Jake seems to be in the way of everything. But Evie can't deny how sweet he is with his grandmother. When Jake's business is in jeopardy, she agrees to help a d becomes his fake girlfriend. But the line between fake and real quickly begins to blur, and although they are ready to embrace it, there are a few obstacles they will need to first overcome.
A quick and fun read with an enjoyable plot and likable characters. This was a sweet and charming that I was glad to have the opportunity to read.

I really enjoyed this story. After having to move out of her home due to no fault of her own Evie’s elderly neighbour Eleanore asks her to move in with her. Her grandson Jake thinks she is taking advantage of his grandmother and ends up house sharing too. The banter between all of them is very good, and then the fake dating between Evie and Jake becomes more involved a happy ending is natural.

This is a sweet fade to black love story and I really enjoyed it (I usually prefer spicy, so I was surprised how much I didn't miss it here). The little bit of business intrigue was a nice change up, too. Lovely, quick read

This was a cute romcom. Evie ends up moving in with her elderly neighbour when her roommate moves. It works well for both of them but Eleanore’s handsome grandson worries Evie is trying to take advantage of his grandma so he also ends up moving in. Since it is a romcom they of course develop a romantic relationship. The characters were fun and quirky and I enjoyed this book.

A very sweet, girl meets boy next door, enemies to lovers romance.
The story is centred around 3 main characters - Evie, Eleanor and Jake. Evie and Eleanor are neighbours and Evie's rental house is being sold, as she is unable to find anywhere suiting her needs (and her cat) and with no family, her elderly neighbour Eleanor says she can live with her for a bit. Then Eleanor's grandson decides he is coming back from Dublin and moves back in with Eleanor as he is suspicious of Evie's motives. Eh go the enemies to lovers romance kicks off between Evie and Jake. Things escalate when Jake needs Evie to fake date him when a business deal falls through and sparks start to fly.

This book was so cute and fluffy. It was easy to read . Definitely RECOMMENDED 👍🤍

I liked Evie and Jake, while they could have been developed slightly more I didn’t feel it took too much from the story. I did love Eleanore though!

A fairly predictable, opposites attract story, you know where this is going and for fans this is well written with enough additional story telling to make it quite enjoyable.
