Description

The first time Cleo feared for her life was when she was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson’s at 23.

The second time is when she discovered she could travel back in time at 24.

While she is offered guidance from fellow time traveler Franklin, she is plagued by a fragmented message transmitting through white noise. Cleo’s best friend Bobby, a physicist, is recruited to help her and Franklin make sense of what’s happening, but despite their successes, Cleo’s constant jumping backward in time delays their progress.

Once the message is received in its entirety – and more than one harsh realization is discovered - the three friends race against time to right the wrongs disclosed in the cryptic message. But one of these friends is not like the others, offering an additional obstacle to an already impossible situation.

Burdened with an unlimited number of do-overs, Cleo McCarthy finds herself asking, how much time is enough?

Thanks Michael Poeltl, Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for this free ARC in exchange for a review.

Unlike some of the time travel novels coming out in recent years, this one goes a bit differently than expected, and that's a good thing.

One thing to note: There are several places where sentences aren't finished, so that should be fixed before the final release.

Overall this was a good sci-fi mystery that kept my attention, so I would read more from this author.

This was a interesting concept, I enjoyed getting to know Cleo and the use of time-travel. It left me thinking about if I would change things if I could time-travel. Michael Poeltl has a great writing style for this genre and how good the characters worked in this setting.

Fun read. Wasn't overly scientific when dealing with time travel which made this book very enjoyable. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book

In summary: Time travel with a twist.

I love this book! I loved the science ideas threaded through the story, I loved the characters, I loved the plot as well.
Cleo McCarthy is a time traveller with a twist. She can relive her life over and over from the anchor point of discovery that she can time travel. I liked the main character Cleo a lot. The author managed to craft a character that is interesting, give the character good plot arc with a satisfying ending. The only thing if I had to be picky would be the fact that Cleo has Parkinson’s disease. I wondered if cancer might have fit better in the mix. That aside, I still enjoyed following Cleo throughout the story.
I liked Franklin, the villain of sorts (he came from a good place, sort of anti hero) and understood why he did what he did throughout the story, it was a nice little plot twist at the end of the story. I liked the way the reader kind of figured out he was self serving villain at certain points, but disguised it well with being a guide to Cleo.
I liked the romance arc mostly. I felt that the romance between Cleo and Bobby could use some work. I wondered how Cleo and Bobby’s timeline did not change all that much through all the time jumps that occurred. For me it was a bit weak. I found I asked myself how do these two anchor themselves throughout all the time jumps other than being already friends before the revelation Cleo is a time traveller.
