Welcome to Professor Ewe's classroom, where you’ll embark on a delightful journey through the fascinating (yet grossest) functions of the human body.

Professor Ewe is an Einstein-like female sheep who shares just as much excitement for the intricacies of the human body as she does for the art of teaching science.

And be sure to look closely at the illustrations – there are delightful and humorous treasures on every spread, skillfully crafted by the talented Janne Maru, Illustrator.

I love this sheep. The book was amazing. I have a grandson who was engrossed with everything science from an early age. He would have loved this book. A fun, cute way to learn the basics about body functions. The illustrations were friendly and fun. I was given an ARC to review. My review is unbiased. I hope to read more books about science things by this author. Great job. Outstanding book and illustrations.

Hooray for a book which explains normal bodily functions in a way that makes them understandable to kids. When you’re young, you need help learning about all the rather weird and sometimes scary things your body is doing. I hope parents will discover this nonfiction book, share it with their kids and answer any questions they might ask. Maybe some will even get interested in entering the medical field when they grow up to learn more about how bodies work.

This book is cute and very cleverly narrated. The author uses language that translates well to tiny humans and peaks their interest in all the "gross" stinky, slimy bodily functions we all experience. This would be a great book to use in a Storytime about bodies, I can see littles giggling their way through this read. Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for access to this ebook.

The highlight of this book in my opinion is the charming illustrations and artwork! It is a great expression of positivity surrounding your body, and uncovering the mysteries of the body. I would gladly incorporate this into my preschool "all about me" curriculum.

This is such a clever book explaining how the systems of the body sometimes excrete things, such as mucus, poop, gas, etc. I think kids will find this book funny and it helps make the excrements less disgusting.

This was not a book I would normally buy, because how your body functions does kinda gross me out.
My kids however, loved it and I think if I were to of been exposed to books like this, early on it might of changed my outlook.

The pictures were great! They weren't too detailed where I wanted to look away. I didn't really get the rhyming but the line "It's not ewwww it's you" was a great way to use a different voice and make it extra theatrical, which kids seemed to love.

I also loved the little glossary at the back of the book, that explained further the body's functions. Sometimes it is hard to explain events or things in a way kids will understand, so this is nice.

This book is a fun take on the disgustingly beautiful human body. I think it would be a great start and get kids into science, explain what's happening with their body, and be silly with stinky poos and yucky stuff. The animals were cute and I think there is just enough information on each page.

This book explains what purpose each gross body function has. Poop, farts, saliva, mucus even ear wax. The story is a super easy read at the beginning and becomes more technical towards the end. I think some of the technical could have been added into the initial story, but on the other hand if you find that all too boring you can just skip it since it's at the end of the book. Illustrations are bright and cheerful. I can't wait to share this book with my son and grandson.

This book did not go well into my kindle fire. It had whole sections of the book that were whited out. It came over fine in my Netgalley app. Not sure if that's the book or my kindle.

It’s Not EWWW… It’s You! by Sharon Leya

K-2 | PDHPE | Human Body

Summary: This picture book explores the “gross” human bodily fluids that help our body to function. Professor Ewe the adorable sheep teaches children to marvel at our incredible bodies.

Illustrations: The illustrations were well designed and eye-catchy for children to look at.

Appropriate for: K-2 (NSW Australian Primary School children). The vocabulary that students will learn is fundamental for these students to learn. I do believe you will need to read this to the right group of students as it is funny, but the vocabulary of (urine and poop) could cause an out-of control situation.

Review: I think this would be a great book to use as an introduction to the human body. I like the vocabulary as it is scientific. I do think it needs to read to the right group of students. The last page of additional information is also fantastic for those students who like to learn at a deeper level.

4/5

This book was so adorable, I loved everything about it, the illustrations were so well done, they suited the book perfectly, the story was amazing as well. I’m sure the kids are going to be just as enthralled with this amazing book as I was. I will definitely recommend! Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this early copy

I thought that this book was excellent!

It is pitched just right for the age group and I can see it being a huge hit as to be honest, you will be hard pushed to find a kid that isn't interested in the gross things!

The book is well laid out, I loved the illustrations, it is bright, clear, easy to follow and informative - I loved the facts and as a parent I love this kind of book that teaches about the topics in a different way

It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!

This book reminded me a little of the magic schoolbus, a series I greatly enjoyed as a child. This book would be wonderful in an early classroom to include as part of the science ciriculum about our bodies. The book wonderfully shows how some of the various body functions we consider gross are important and how they work. I hope that after reading this book children will understand that sometime things seem gross, but they are actually our bodies ways of looking after us.

I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley. Opinions are my own.

This was a cute one that helps explain some of the bodily functions to young kids. The pictures were nice and colorful. I enjoyed the play on words with the sheep.

I actually thought this was really cute. This book seems like it’d be great for kids who are starting to find humor in some of our normal and necessary bodily functions. It did a good job of acknowledging that things can be silly and important simultaneously.

This was a cute story. It was a fun way to show that our bodies aren’t always warm and fuzzy but sometimes are gross! But our bodies are still amazing in the things they can do.

A great book to have some fun while talking about important things. Talking about body fluids can be a tricky business for parents and kids. This book makes the topic fun and engaging with silly illustrations.
Great for preschoolers.

What's not to love about this little picture book? It's cute, the language is clever (and rhymes!), and it makes science easy. Most importantly, it's about gross stuff. I never met a kid who didn't enjoy talking about gross stuff, and this book goes through several parts of your body to talk about the gross stuff and how it's just natural.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this

First, I LOVE the illustrations in this one. They are cute and appealing and perfect for the age group that the book is targeted for. Professor Ewe was adorable and the gross things highlighted in the book are actually done really well.

As for content, this was a great way to normalize the things our body does to keep us safe and healthy - think boogers and poop, saliva and farts. Even ear was was included which is not normally talked about.

My five year old enjoyed it - of course boy think poop and farts are funny - but it was the perfect way to talk about how that stuff is normal. One of the best pages was the last page that gave a very age appropriate little paragraph about each bodily fluid (because that's basically the theme of the book) and why the body does it. Science without being way above the heads of a little guy. Perfect.

This book is a bit of an “eww” to read, but it’s informative content is what happens to us all. A cute way to teach kids about the everyday bodily functions.

I loved this book! The illustrations are cute and whimsical. And the story was funny as well as educational. I especially had a blast with the topic of gas. The sound effects alone made me laugh out loud.

It's Not Ewwww...It's YOU will make a great addition to a child's library. Parents as well grandparents alike will enjoy the educational humor. Five stars.

I received a DRC from BooksGoSocial through NetGalley. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.

Like the catchy title and the catchy rhymes. Always makes things stick in your head better. My three year old enjoyed the read. Found the first couple of pages a little tough. They don't roll like the others. Generally thought the illustrations were fab, however, would recommend getting rid of the teacher holding the cotton bud inside the ear. Kids might copy and it's not considered safe to clean your ears this way. Teacher needs to teach correctly. We would definitely buy this book.

I love this book so much! It was such a great book to show the littles in our life about homonyms and germs! Love this combination for my non-fiction patrons and daughter.

***I received a free ARC of this e-book from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.***

💨 This book is about all the “gross things the body makes”, which includes poop, but also boogers, farts, earwax, and more. The information is presented in a fun and informative way, and it is a great introduction to young readers about how the human body works.

🩸 The back matter contains a section that provides further explanation about some of the words used in the book (like mucus, saliva, and blood).

💩 The illustrations are fun and enhance the reading experience a lot!

💨 There is so much to love about this picture book! I predict kids will laugh out loud while reading about poop and boogers and our other icky bodily functions… but they’ll be learning something, too! Can’t beat that!

Thank you @netgalley and BooksGoSocial for an eARC of this book, which I have read and reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Such a clever topic for a kids book. We for equal parts giggles and focus waiting on the next part. Great to have for preschool and early elementary kiddos.

Thank you to BooksGoSocial and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book for my students. Ok this is an adorable but also well informed on our more disgusting topics. It also helps my speech therapy students with the sound "ooo" in words. However, I would say know your audience when it comes to this book because some kids are not going to behave when it comes to this silly book so be careful. Otherwise, though I would highly recommend it. 4 out of 5 stars.

A funny and well-explained children's book about the body and what it does for us. The illustrations are cute and the text is funny. No doubt it will be appealing to kids and make them learn new things!

This book is fun and it’s about the gross substances in one’s body. The illustrations are fun, but I do wish the cover was punched up a little bit more. This book is interesting entertaining and kids will really like it, but without a more engrossing cover kids will never pick it up.
