Description

Bachelorette fan-favorite and New York Times bestselling author Hannah Brown delivers the perfect beach read with her fiction debut—“a fun, fast, epic rom-com" (Abby Jimenez, #1 New York Times bestselling author).

Emma Townsend can sum up her situationship with hot-as-hell romantic red flag Finn Hughes in one word: almost. They almost dated in high school. They almost hooked up after college. They almost took things too far one magical night. Their whole story is one series of “almosts” and “nearlys,” and now they just kind of can’t stand each other. Like, at all.

But this weekend, one of their mutuals is getting married . . . and Emma and Finn will have to pretend they don’t remember how disastrous it was the last time they were in a room together.

Emma’s doing a stellar job of playing it cool—until the bride goes missing. Now, with two days before the wedding, Emma and Finn are hitting the road in a sweet vintage sports car in hopes of salvaging someone else’s happily-ever-after.

Yet somewhere between Emma’s breakfast burrito throw down, a high-stakes kayak chase (it can happen), and an outrageous Vegas detour, these sworn enemies are crossing more than just state lines. As old feelings spark once more, Emma begins to question whether risking your heart is ever really a mistake.

Loved this book! The relationship between Finn and Emma was fun and sweet with a great banter. I liked the humor of the road trip and the wedding theme mixed in with Emma confronting her past. It brought more depth to the story without losing the overall lightheartedness of the book. Read like a true rom com. So fun and a perfect light, breezy summer beach read!

Hannah Brown's debut Rom-Com didn't disappoint. I loved the strong female relationships, the cat and mouse game with her almost lover Finn, all set around one of her bestie's wedding weekend. This one will keep you LOL and hurting for the female lead.

Overall the book had a good storyline, even though it took me a minute to get into the characters. I wish she had started with more background on why the four were friends as I think it would have made the plot stronger and the reader more invested in the relationship of the girls. I would still say this is a smashing debut!

Alright, I really enjoyed this, I’m a huge Hannah Brown fan, and I stand by that her season of The Bachelorette is some of the greatest tv I’ve ever watched. While I really liked Emma & Finn, if I were Emma there’s zero chance Finn would have gotten another shot after everything. I found the bride to be insufferable, but I suppose it’s her shenanigans that brought us the budding romance between Emma & Finn. I also particularly enjoyed the focus on self healing and coming to terms with the past.
Like I said, I really enjoyed this, it was a quick and easy read - now if may, I need to know what Sybil was up to and what happened at her wedding?!

{For my Bachelor/Bachelorette fans, I’ve heard a lot of questions on if Finn was based on Tyler C. (Although in the author’s note, it’s stated he’s not based on anyone in particular), I personally got the Luke P. vibes, you know, if he was nicer - because we all know that’s who she wanted to pick!}

I was so pleasantly surprised by this read! I'm a big HB fan but was a bit of a skeptic going in, and ended up delighted at the writing style. A fun, sweet, fast read that will bring out the wanderlust in you. My only gripe is that we never learned what happened to Pilar?!!

I thought this book was light and fun. I felt like Hannah really got inspiration from herself for the fmc.

I will definitely recommend this to the rom com and the bachelor lovers.

Did I say up until 2 am to finish this book? Yes
Do I regret doing that? Absolutely not!

First and foremost, thank you NetGalley, Hannah Brown: and Forever publishing for the arc of this book!

This book had me hooked very quickly into it and I fell in love with Emma and Finn even quicker. Through out the book I would literally feel a pressure in my chest from my heart breaking or growing because of their relationship and found myself crying quite often during their time together.

This was one of the few romances I wouldn’t describe as corny. It felt very authentic and the “cheesiest” part could be said to be the debate team arguments but I truly found those to be so charming and fun (lol).
Also, there was actual long history between the two characters and that is what really pulls me into a romance.

I am not sure everyone would love this book as much as me but it was definitely a book that hit home for me. I have also been in a slight reading funk so this helped pull me right out!

Hannah, I hope you write more of these because I truly enjoyed reading every word of this book!

This book was really cute! I loved the main characters fierce love for her people. The book was quick and easy to read. I loved the ambiguous ending and hope that means there will be a second book about Sybil’s marriage and life. Hopefully it would include all her secrets and where she ran away to! I would definitely read another book in this series!

Emma is her friend group’s go-to gal when it comes to planning, organizing, and fixing. If Emma’s involved, you better believe there will be a color coded hour by hour itinerary involved! When her best friend turns into a runaway bride a few days before her wedding, it’s up to Emma as the maid of honor to save the day, as per usual.

Although I’m familiar enough with Hannah Brown from the Bachelorette and know her reputation for being lovable and feisty, I wasn’t sure what to expect from her writing.

It’s so evident that Hannah’s personality and humor translate to print perfectly. The first few chapters of this book had me completely GIDDY and laughing out loud from the start. I loved getting to know Emma and Finn and experiencing their banter and competitiveness! I thought their story being told through present tense with a few flashbacks was so well played.

I adored the additional themes of friendship, mental health rep, the roadtrip setting, and the secrets that unfolded along the way. Although the ending wrapped up pretty well, I do wish it was developed with a little more details and not so quick. I did really enjoy the epilogue and thought it was the perfect addition!

Overall I really enjoyed this book!
