Wildlife biologist Alex Carter leads a hike through the mountains of Wyoming, where treacherous landscapes, majestic wolves, and a staggering discovery await—only for the hikers to reveal deadly motivations and shifting loyalties.

When Alex Carter hears that a parcel of private land outside of Yellowstone is for sale, and the Land Trust for Wildlife Conservation needs help with their bid to buy and preserve it, she seizes the opportunity to help. She will lead a hike for wealthy individuals, show them how special the land is, and ask them to contribute to the land trust’s bid.

An affluent group of hikers, including old money billionaires, an A-list actress, and a reclusive tech mogul, set out into the beautiful wilds, with the particular hope of spotting wolves in their natural environment. But the elusive wolves are not the only secret that the landscape is hiding. Amongst the geothermal pools, rugged cliffs, and gorgeous pine forests, a killer lurks.

As natural and manmade dangers surround them, the tension between the hikers reaches a boiling point. Soon, all of their lives hang in the balance, and Alex is the only one who can bring them to safety—if she can determine who to trust.
