Description

Raccoon finishes his book and is ready for his own adventure—he wants thrills, excitement and to conquer the sea!

He borrows everything he needs from his friends: a boat from Badger, who insists on coming along because you should never go on an expedition alone. Fox packs them eggs for the omelette—then must join to be the cook. Bear insists on coming to scare away the jellyfish, and Crow says he should be lookout.

The friends sail through rapids, collect sweet blackberries, chase away bees, and play soccer, until a little rain and thoughts of home bring their excursion to an end. That, thinks Raccoon, was the most thrilling magnificent adventure with friends I've ever had. Let's go again soon—and next time we'll bring the chickens.

In this heartwarming follow-up to A Perfect Wonderful Day with Friends, Waechter shows how life is better when you bring along your friends and take what the day brings.

A group of animal friends set off on an adventure to travel the world by boat. Each friend brings their unique skills on the trip, and together they have a wonderful time.

This story was fun, and the illustrations were engaging. We really enjoyed how each character was so unique and each contributed significantly to the adventure in their own special way.

My kids thought all the animals were so silly. A lovely little story showing how an adventure may not go as planned but is always fun with friends.
The books felt like Little Bear story and my kids have already read it twice. Highly recommend!

I received an electronic ARC from Gecko Press through NetGalley.
Charming story of a raccoon who wants an adventure for himself after reading an adventurous book. He sets off to journey around the world via the ocean. Along the way, he shares with friends and they each offer reasons they should join in. The friends travel on the river and have a delightful day. Once it begins to rain, they decide their ocean adventure was long enough for a first voyage. All agree they want to do it again with more provisions.
The artwork is a joy to study and enhances the text for younger readers. This is wonderful read aloud for families and classes (especially before heading out for adventures of their own.)
