The book was beautifully written. The author made careful word choices that were very impactful. Overall, the book was well written and I did really enjoy it.
This is a handy little book for kids to offer practical tips for safety in the great outdoors. It calls it a survival guide. The first topic addressed is what to do if you get lost in the woods. Then they tell you how to make water safe to drink. Then how to make a fire. Then how to make a shelter for the night. Then what to do if you are lost in the desert. Okay I don't know about eating the lizards. Getting liquids from the cacti yes. If you meet a bear. Don't look them in the eye. They might see that as an invitation to attack. Walk slowly away. If you met a buck try and hide but if you can't try to become bigger than they are. Never approach a swan. In the woods stomp your feet, clap your hands, beat two sticks, use your voice or have a noisemaker for scaring wild animals away.
