Absolutely love the idea of owning a baby dragon 🤩 and can imagine the chaos that would follow from taking it out and about. I did go to a cat cafe once and was mobbed by a gang of tabbies. Nobody was scorched though!! If dragons were real then a dragon cafe would be great fun!!

I liked the idea that Saphira had had a dream that she worked hard to build for herself no matter the hardship. She's a great character who you can't help but like. Her love for baby dragons, particularly Sparky, takes her on a great journey of self discovery and live. Her love for her grandmother and the need to keep her memory alive is sweet and endearing. Family is so important and despite her losses, Saphira does her absolute best to celebrate family.

The story is a slow burn that's filled with detail that keeps you interested throughout.

Aiden is initially an odd character and I was worried we'd have turbulence as a result of his initial reluctance to engage. However, things progress nicely and it ends up as a real feel good story.

Definitely looking forward to more in the baby dragon series....

I love Aamna and everything she writes, i had so much fun reading it, the plot was beautiful, the writing gorgeous and flowy like always and characters absolutely adorable. I genuinely can't thank Aamna enough for writing and making predominantly white concepts for brown girlies, Her books are truly what every single 12 year old desi girl needs.
Starshine Valley is a place i wanna live in, the dragons, the incredible people and the stories already have my heart. This is one of those romantasies where you are happy and giggling through out the book and even though it's all fluff the characters are really well written, their personal arcs so beautifully put together that i wanted to keep on reading forever.

The Baby Dragon Cafe is the cutest cosy fantasy.
I loved Saphira's bond with Sparky and Aiden. I was originally drawn to this book because of it's name and the blurb had me intrigued. It follows Saphira who own's The Baby Dragon Cafe as she helps Aiden train his new baby dragon Sparky. As you can guess, sparks do fly between Saphira and Aiden but it is so well done. I didn't want to put it down.
I'm so glad that I got to read it as it was just as cosy as I suspected.
100% recommend this brilliantly cosy read. Definitely looking forward to both The Baby Dragon Bakery and The Baby Dragon Bookshop.

This book is the perfect combination of ‘The Pumpkin Spice Café’ and ‘Fourth Wing’ !!! Seriously, a café for baby dragons? TOO CUTE!!! 🥰🥰

I loved the main characters, the typical Grumpy x Sunshine! I enjoyed watching their romance and the characters develop. I loved Sparky, the grumpiest and cutest baby dragon ever. This story is set in spring and is perfect for the beginning of the year! 💙
I loved the ending and the epilogue was even more perfect!

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that they were interrupted about 5 times when they were about to have their first kiss haha

I think this was a very cute pleasant read, its a slow burn romance, there isn't any spice for people that prefer there stories spice-free then is the book for you. Its a small town setting with mentions of other mythical creatures too.
Its about Saphira who owns a Dragon Cafe (which i would love to be able to do by the way), she is unable to have a dragon of her own, so this is her way to be closer to them, until she gets a great offer from the local heart throb Aiden, who is abit of a grump, to train his dragon.

Binged this book in two nights, it was such a cute read!

I loved the two main characters and their chemistry developing between them was *chefs kiss* I adored Sparky, he was so adorable and cute, I loved how he brought the couple together, he was the real mvp, I hope we get to see them again in the next book as well!

Wonderfully written and a fantastic book to read to get me out of my reading slump, I'm looking forwards to The Baby Dragon Bakery next year!

Saphira was such a sweet character, you could see her dreams and feel how much she wanted to accomplish them and she was so easy to root for! Aiden was such a sweetheart too. he was a shy, anxious little thing ahah and I really liked seeing him gain more confidence throughout the book. I thought their chemistry was fab and I was relived to see them communicate rather than hold it in and it cause problems at the end. they supported and helped each other thought out and it built a really nice foundation for them. I just loved how drama free it was!

the baby dragons, aww so cute! such a cool concept too. sparky was filled with such attitude, he was hilarious.

it's a perfect cute, quick little cozy read. its not too heavy, its the perfect combination of fluffy and meaningful.

The story was chilled and calm with a gentle pace to the reading (but was devoured easily) and you felt a real connection to the characters!

I love sparky the dragon I completely understand why sapphire feel in love with that dragon alone. Aidan was so shy and how he opened up. It was so cozy and magical. I love Lavina and theo and can't wait for there story and didn't want to finish the story as felt like it such a comfort read and definitely would buy of her again. If your thinking of reading this book I 100 percent can't recommend enough.

This was so different to anything else I have read and so much fun to dive into!! There were so many moments I had a chuckle or outright cackled to myself, either from a witty line or from the baby dragons antics 🤣 They were so adorable and I just want to SQUISH one!

I loved the way the story progressed and the writing style was just brilliant. My only issue was with the formatting on the netgalley copy, as the paragraphs and sentences swapped lines in places that made it a little disjointed at times, but that is the ONLY negative I have!

I enjoyed reading this so much, I absolutely loved our FMC and I am so so jealous of her life. Take me there pleassse I need a Dragon Cafe in my life!

This is a delightful story that follows the hardship of starting up a dragon cafe (not to mention all the breakages that come with dragon cafe ownership), the relationships with her customers and the trials of not being from one of the Drakkon families. Tasked by a customer to help train their dragon, Saphira finds more than she’s bargained for.
Qureshi truly brings this cafe to life and I can’t wait to see what the next books in the series bring. Heartwarming and easy to read and follow. The characters are like family that you’ve met before.

I am so excited for this one to come out! "The Baby Dragon Cafe" has the perfect amount of low stakes fantasy and romance.

I unfortunately was not able to finish it due to the formatting errors in Netgalley, but I am excited to get my hands on a physical copy. I will be recommending this to everyone.

Let’s face it we are all picking this us because BABY DRAGONS ! The romance is just an added bonus !

This starts off really strong , it’s easy to fall into the story and I just want to give a baby dragon lots of kisses ( though i suspect that is not a great idea )
If you love animals this is probably a great pick for you.

Overall the romance plot line was good I liked the fmc and mmc together. I do feel like there was a little too many tropes squeezed into the ending of this. The spice is minimal but there is a small scene without too much detail.

This was such a cosy, lighthearted fantasy and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. It’s similar to THE PUMPKIN SPICE CAFE but honestly, it’s so much better! The romance is a slow burn, but it felt more natural than it being rushed.

All the food and drinks that the cafe had made me wish that it was real so I could try it all!

I am looking forward to the next instalment in this series!

This was such a cute book!!

Saphira opens a “Baby Dragon Cafe” in her town & quickly finds out that owning a dragon cafe gets pricey. Aiden ends up paying Saphira to train his baby dragon for him, which helps her pay for all the damages ensued by the dragons.

This definitely gave me “Pumpkin Spice Cafe” vibes but this was executed better. I loved reading about all the South Asian desserts served at the cafe, as well as all the unique coffee drinks Saphira makes! I also loved the cafe & its environment- it felt cozy & warm.

This book started off very strong for me. The magical, fantasy elements were so interesting & I loved its integration into a romance. However, this book could have been shorter to me. It also had a very rushed ended imo & had so many tropes mixed into the plot.

The baby dragon cafe is the cozy mystery meets hallmark movie mashup I never knew I needed!

We follow Saphira who opens a cafe that’s friendly to local riders who have baby dragons they’re raising! As cute and sweet as this sounds, it comes with risks. Saphiras skirts are being constantly singed by little fire puffs and bites, her espresso machines broken, and insurance won’t cover any of it. So when local dragon rider heir Aiden comes in asking her to train his dragon for an exorbitant price, she can’t say no!

We follow Saphira as she bonds and trains with the dragon, Sparky, and her blossoming friendship with Aiden.

I enjoyed this! It does have some baby talk to the dragon that may not be for everyone, but it wasn’t too bothersome for me. This is definitely cheesey/happy go lucky vibes and with that in mind I think everyone could enjoy this! It reads quite YA but if you know what you’re going in to, it’s fantastic. Definitely intrigued to read more from this author!

Omg this book was absolutely ADORABLE!!!!!! I was not expecting to love it as much as I did. It was a really cute feel-good story with magical creatures and uplifting characters. Ughhh baby dragons?! Yes please!

“…It feels like everything leading up to meeting you was just the prologue to my life; after meeting you, the real story began…”

The love story in this one was simply beautiful. It did not feel rushed or manipulative. It built up over the course of the entire book, and it was precious. There is no spice in this one, so don’t come at me for loving it anyway because spice isn’t always necessary if the plot is good enough. I definitely would have liked it more with a touch of spice thrown in because I’m a spicy girl, but it wasn’t really necessary…like I said. There was some build-up there, though for people who love that!

Tell me why I pictured Toothless for Sparky the entire way through this book?!? I pictured a baby version of Toothless from the cartoon dragon movie, and I couldn’t get enough of his cutie personality.

This was a very fast and easy read, and it was not very easy to put down for work, chores, life things…even though it feels like a YA read, it also did not because the characters are in their 20s (not teen years). The writing style itself was definitely YA, so those with an advanced pallet may not LOVE LOVE it, but in my opinion it just made it a quicker read. I’m not usually a fan of adults using words like “tummy” but at least it was not during spice scenes 🤣😬 cuz that gives me ick vibes. Again…there is no spice in this one!

I think the only change I would have liked to see would have been to change the chapters into first person pov instead of third person the entire book. I’m not a huge hater of third person, but I would have felt WAYYYYY more connected with Sephira & Aiden if they were written with their own chapters in first person POV format. That’s just me though. This was still a solid 4.3 stars from me! I really loved it, and I didn’t want to put it down at all!

Don’t skip out on this one! It’s truly a feel-good read! ❤️

Saphira has always wanted a baby dragon of her own. When she opens a café for people to go with their pet dragons, Saphira wasn’t expecting life to be so difficult. The baby dragons are costing her a fortune in repairs between broken appliances and burnt furniture.

Aiden is the owner of a baby dragon, but is not particularly interested in spending any time with it. So, he asks Saphira for her help to train his baby dragon, Sparky and offers to pay her, in order to help keep the café afloat.

As Saphira starts to train Sparky, the more she falls in love with him, But as her happy-go-lucky attitude is more annoying than anything to Aiden, is she able to convince him to spend more time with Sparky, without falling a little in love with him too.

When I was sent an ARC of this book, I was originally drawn to its title, as come on, who doesn’t love baby dragons. As soon as I started reading it, I fell in love with Sparky. I absolutely loved the way in which he bonded with Saphira and their bond grew stronger as the book progressed.

The relationship between Saphira and Aiden was well written. Unlike other books I have read recently, the progression of their relationship wasn’t rushed. There is no spice in this book and I would have been quite disappointed if there was, as the story was strong enough on its own.

This was a cosy, feel good read and is due for publication on 16th January, 2025.

I can't say enough good things about this book! Such a magical and perfectly written comfort fantasy. I'm glad I got the opportunity to read this and it is definitely a favorite. I can't wait for the next book form the this author.

My first 2025 release read and I know that I have just read the next cosy fantasy smash hit read - everyone is going to be talking about this book.

I mean, how can you not love this story - a ball of joyful sunshine who runs the cosy coffee shop of my dreams, a reclusive grump with a hyperactive dragon who just won't listen and a world where having a baby dragon is ACTUALLY a thing?!

I loved Saphira and Aiden and Joe they both learned to grow and develop together. There were also so many wonderful side characters who added their own charm to the story. And what can I say for Sparky other than I love the bones of him, scales and all 😍

I can't wait for more people to read this book and experience this absolute joy wrapped up in one of my favourite covers of recent years!

Oh my goodness this book was so cute!! If you liked “The Pumpkin Spice Cafe” and you like Dragons I think you will adore this book. As who does not love, a cozy cafe, and some baby dragons, isn’t that what readers truly love.

As I began this book I felt magically transported into a world that felt oh so special. Throughout reading this book, you can completely tell that A.T. Qureshi really found this niche in the cozy fantasy genre. As when I read the blurb, it felt exactly what the cozy genre needed. I hope that as this book gets closer to the release date that this gets more exposure, and reaches more people. As everyone deserves to be brought to a cozy cafe where baby dragons fly about… while you have your own pet dragon. I was thinking up names while reading this book for my own dragon, and what they would look like… that is how dialed in you get with this book.

Our FMC Sapina runs a cafe, but not just any cafe… one where the humans can bring their pet dragons. What could be more wholesome?! She runs this cafe while also raising her own pet dragon and it’s such a heartwarming story. During her time at her cafe she meets Aidan aka the MMC in this book and the local gardener and he is the sweetest guy. Her business is struggling due to baby dragons wrecking havoc so he decides to help her. In the process, they begin to come closer, as not only is Aidan helping out the cafe with providing Sapina money to help elevate expenses… they are becoming very friendly. Enter in a fake marriage plot as well and it is a recipe for awesomeness.

While this book says “no spice”… there is a little bit of heat about 0.5 to 1 🌶️

Loved this! It was really good and a fab read for autumn! I read this in a few days and could not put it down.

This book is an absolute gem that wraps you in warmth and whimsy from the very first page! Sephora and Aiden’s dynamic is pure gold. The banter is sweet, the misunderstandings delightful, and you can’t help but root for them as they navigate their feelings amid the dragon-infused antics. It’s cozy, heartwarming, and all the small-town charm you could ask for, with the promise of a happy ever after that feels just right.

This book was just as cute AND cosy as the name suggests. It was the most perfect ‘curl up with a blanket and your favourite hot mug of beverage’ and relax into its comforting pages.

I mean, baby dragons, cosy cafe, endearing characters and heartwarming romance. It has all the cute tropes, from grump x sunshine, fake marriage and dragon training x cafe is my new favourite thing.

Training baby dragons sounds like one hell of a job and it’s one Aiden doesn’t quite feel equipped to deal with. He’s hesitant to bond with sparky, his Basalta dragon but when he meets the captivating owner of the Baby Dragon Cafe, he knows there’s an opportunity there. One to get to spend more time with Saphira, and two, to train sparky who Saphira seems perfectly adept to deal with.

It’s a really cute set up and it makes for one incredibly easy book to read. I’m glad this is the first in a series as the premise of it is just great. There’s more characters I can’t wait to get to know and I’m excited to spend more time in Starshine Valley as it’s somewhere that’s easy to retreat to. And the next one - The Baby Dragon Bakery?!!! Yes please. It’s going to be one epic series.

Ok so if you want a cosy, cute, grumpy x sunshine, dragon baby, set in a coffee shop, full of joy book then you need to read this when it comes out in Jan 2025.

Joy is exactly what I felt when reading this and you can’t help but all in love with all the characters Sparky is just this adorable baby dragon who forms this beautiful bond with Saphira who runs the only dragon baby friendly cafe as she needs money to help with the little mishaps these baby dragons have in her cafe.

Aiden the grumpy but very sweet local gardener who needs help with training and bonding with his dragon Sparky after his brother left him Sparky’s egg when he passed away.

The perfect solution is for Aiden to pay Saphira to help train Sparky, he’s gets the help he needs and she gets money to put back into the cafe.

What they don’t expect is how strong they feel towards each other and when Sparky’s final challenges mean they need to pretend to be married it brings them closer as a little family.

I adored this book. Theres that dream inside so many women to own a cute cafe thats also a bookstore that also has magic and a garden and this dragon cafe scratched that metaphorical dream so good. I loved their romance and the author did such a good chance of keeping the tension so high without making it too much of a slow burn. She constantly gave us enough heat to keep me satisfied. Overall 5 stars.

This was absolutely the cutest thing ever! It was such an easy, cozy read—one of those delightful books you can curl up with and lose yourself in. I wish I could visit a baby dragon café! I could almost feel the swish of Saphira's skirts and hear the jingle of her bangles. I found myself wanting to play with Sparky in the dragon playground. And then there's the charmingly awkward Aiden! I'm eagerly anticipating book two!

When Saphira opens up a cafe that welcomes baby dragons, she isn't expecting quite so many accidents. It turns out baby dragons can be a little troublesome. Baby dragons breathe fire, which ruins a lot more furniture! When Aiden, a local gardener, sees how great Saphira is with baby dragons, he asks her to train Sparky, his adorable but slightly naughty, baby dragon.

This was honestly the cutest, cosiest romantasy! I mean: cosy fantasy, romance, and baby dragons, what is not to love?! I absolutely flew through this one and read it in one day, I just didn't want to put it down.

I loved how the baby dragons basically get portrayed as toddlers! I also loved the romance aspect of this. It was a great addition to the already amazing plot line. I am so glad to see this is going to be a series, I am already desperate for the next book!

Go make your self a cup of tea and snuggle in to your cosy spot when reading this one because it is just so cute!

If you enjoyed Best Hex Ever or Pumpkin Spice Cafe but fancied something with baby dragons, low stakes and a really lovely romance plot, then you’ve got it! This was a really easy read and world felt so magical.

Saphira was so down to earth and relatable with her busy life and insecurities. And I really liked how the author scattered lots of little nods to her culture throughout too. The deserts sounded so lovely!

I perhaps would have liked the slow burn to burn slower, or for there to be a little more tension between Aiden and Saphira, but it was very much what was expecting. I also really liked that there was no spice in this. Sometimes I just want to read a cute romance without spice, and this was perfect!

The Baby Dragon Cafe is a super sweet, cosy, small town, romantic, light fantasy novel about baby dragons and a love story (no spice) between Saphira and Aiden. Saphira is the main female character who is sweet, kind and beautiful and she follows her dreams and opens up a gorgeous baby dragon cafe in Starshine Valley. Aiden is the main male character who is a grumpy gardener, quiet, awkward, closed off and from a privileged, rich background and the story continues with their relationship developing whilst training Aiden's baby dragon, called Sparky.

I enjoyed the South Asian references to yummy, delicious cakes, sweet desserts (gulab jamun) and hot drinks (karak chai) and the way the author described the cafe and brought it to life in this book. It was also very heartwarming the way the author described her relationship and memories with her grandmother (Nani-ma) and her relationship with her best friend Lavinia.

I absolutely loved this story, it was different, quirky and not too much spice. Saphira and Aiden are perfect together and let's not forget little Sparky. I need to visit this cafe and get a baby dragon of my own

The Baby Dragon Cafe is such a delightful concept for a book! From the very first page, I was enchanted by the idea of a cosy cafe where dragons and their humans gather—a perfect blend of warmth, magic, and heart.

Saphira is an absolute gem of a character. She’s kind-hearted, passionate, and genuinely cares about everyone around her. It’s easy to become invested in her journey, and I found myself fully supporting her dreams for the cafe. In fact, I could have happily spent the entire book just reading about her daily interactions with the regulars and their dragons! Her love for both the cafe and the community is so palpable, and it’s clear how much of her heart and soul she’s poured into making it a special place.

Aiden, on the other hand, is the quintessential grumpy male love interest, though, like any well-written character, there’s far more to him than meets the eye. Beneath his brooding exterior lies a man struggling with grief after the death of his brother, and his attempts to care for Sparky, an unruly baby dragon, make for some heartfelt (and often hilarious) moments. Watching Aiden slowly open up as he forms a connection with Saphira and Sparky is a truly touching journey, and I found myself rooting for him every step of the way.

Saphira, Aiden, and Sparky make such a wonderful trio. Their growing bond is heartwarming and full of tender moments that had me smiling and even wiping away a few happy tears. Sparky, with his puppy-like antics and undeniable intelligence, is an absolute scene-stealer. His interactions with Saphira were some of my favourite moments in the book—he’s both chaotic and endearing, a perfect fit for their world.

The small-town setting adds so much charm to the story. The tight-knit community, the local businesses, and the sense of belonging all contribute to the cosy, feel-good atmosphere of the book. I also loved the colourful cast of side characters, each with their own quirks and stories. I’m already looking forward to seeing more of them in future books!

While we only get a glimpse of the broader world in The Baby Dragon Cafe, I’m hopeful that future instalments will explore other villages in the valley that are hinted at in this book. There’s so much more to discover, and I’ll definitely be following along to see where the story goes next!

In short, The Baby Dragon Cafe is a heartwarming, magical read that will leave you smiling, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

This was an absolute cozy delight. If you’re a fan of cozy reads, make sure to add this to your TBR because it is peak cozy with adorable baby dragons. Also, when I say cozy, I mean COZY. It’s so cozy the stakes are almost nonexistent. I loved the whole premise of towns built around families that had dragons and being able to bring the baby dragons with you everywhere regardless of the havoc they create. I adored the bond that formed between Saphira and Sparky during their training sessions. I’m not going to lie, I was more invested in their relationship than the one between Saphira and Aiden. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy their relationship because I did, but there was something so pure about the bond between Saphira and Sparky. I did enjoy how Qureshi developed the relationship between Saphira and Aiden so organically. It took spending time with each other for their relationship to evolve from employer/employee to friends to lovers. I also really enjoyed the time on the mountain going through the various rights of passage between dragons and riders. I’m so excited to see there will be more books set in this world, and I can’t wait to read the next one.

This wasn't something I'd usually read but I found myself enjoying it very much.
The characters are sweet and there is something very simple and intriguing about it, a very easy read.
I could almost taste Saphira's sweet treats and teas.

5 stars if you love cosy romance I'm looking forward to the sequel

This book was a cozy, fun and perfect cold weather read, something to curl up with under a blanket! Focusing on Saphira, a woman who loves dragons and Aiden, a man who puts up with them, and the romance that blossoms when Saphira begins to train Aiden’s new baby dragon. Saphira has dreamed of opening a dragon cafe that caters to baby dragons - but baby dragons are very destructive and soon the bills start piling up. Enter Aiden, a man whose dead brother has left him a dragon egg that has unexpectedly hatched, and now he has a new baby that he cannot train. Solving both problems? Saphira trains Sparky the dragon for Aiden.
And so their romance begins - neither of them aim to fall for each other but it’s almost inevitable. It’s a sweet, slow burn romance where they slowly realise how important they’ve become to each other and how much they love each other - and I ate it up with a spoon! It was just a sweet romance, with low tension and fade-to-black scenes.
It’s a low stakes, cosy fantasy with a limited plot beyond their romance - perfect if that’s what you’re looking for in the morning but if you go in expecting more you will be disappointed. There are a lot of threads for other characters in the book that I’m sure will be the subject of future books in the series. There’s also a few threads that are brought up but aren’t really dealt with in the book or the scope of the story - there’s a lot mentioned about their differing social classes and the judgement Saphira gets, but it’s never really dealt with in the narrative or beyond these mentions. I don’t know if that was a goal for the book but I think it could’ve added an interesting secondary plot to the book.

Such a cute and cozy read! Low stakes and fluffy, this book is such a pleasant escape from everyday life. Who doesn’t want their own baby dragon?! Saphira and Aiden have such a wholesome relationship and dynamic that you really root for them from the beginning.

If you’re looking for a cute and quick without much world building or any mind-numbing fantasy politics, read this is definitely the book for you!

I really enjoyed this one, cozy fantasy with baby dragons! Would recommend to those who liked pumpkin spice cafe but wanted more magic!

I think some of dialogue needed some work, as it could have had more depth but overall still a 4 star!

this does exactly what it says on the tin - a cute, cosy romance with low stakes, low spice, but exceptional levels of yearning... and adorable baby dragons causing chaos too.

I absolutely loved reading the baby dragon cafes the characters I loved them all. I truly couldn’t put this book down. The story is a good pace and I enjoy getting both Saphira and Aiden’s take on things . Both are great characters and I can’t wait for the next book .

Well who does not need a book about a lovely cafe and baby dragons! This book is definitely a twist on your typical boy meets girl. More boy meets girl due to a cute baby dragon!

Imagine the scene, a young girl setting up and running a cafe, doing all she can to make it a success. However, there’s one major difference to her cafe and any other, hers allows baby dragons inside. Baby dragons who cause her constant trouble when trying to run the cafe!

This is something very different but lovely. The idea of people owning dragons and taking them out much like you would a young child, is something unique to me.

The author really sets the scene and in my minds eye I can visualise everything, from the cafe to the places they visit and the flowers they see.

Having not read many fantasy books based in modern times, it seemed surprising that dragons were walking around with humans, in an age of technology and such advances. Although the book mentions different areas around where it is based, I’d love to know more about where this town was located, are the dragons and other mythical creatures only here or are they all around the world.

All in all an enjoyable read, something to loose yourself in. The characters grow on you throughout the book and you will certainly have a soft spot for the cute, but slightly mischievous baby dragon!

I absolutely loved this book! It was such a cute, cozy, fun read and I felt like it was such a beautiful story! I officially have a new book boyfriend in Aiden and I loved the characters sooo much! The whole concept is also really cool and I was so excited when I learned this was a series. I cannot wait for the rest to come out and I will absolutely be buying a physical copy of this book when it comes out and recommending it to my book club because it’s just such a cozy, nice read!

What I Loved:
- Cinnamon Roll MMC (sidenote - why is there no cinnamon roll emoji?! Someone needs to get on that lol!) - Aiden was awesome! I literally think he’s one of the best, if not the best MMC I’ve come across in my reading journey. He’s grumpy at first but warms up quickly and he is so, so supportive of Saphira! He respects her, encourages her, takes care of her, pays attention to little things she says, is so thoughtful, is incredibly sensitive about wanting to respect her boundaries (also double-checking for consent! Thank you!) and listening to her body language. He’s just a great guy! I am literally in love with him - he’s awesome! I wish all MMCs were like him.
- The Love Story! - I just freaking love these two characters together! When they got together, it was so cozy and sweet and tender and it made my heart so happy! I could read about these two forever. I literally could read about them doing the most boring stuff imaginable and I wouldn’t care. Gimme! I love them SO MUCH!
- The Food! - Loved all of the food references made throughout the book and how multiculturalism was introduced throughout the story this way. It’s a little touch, but I think it makes the story all the more authentic and makes it feel cozier!
- Saphira! - Speaking of which, I loved Saphira’s character and how much elements of her cultural identity were brought into the story. It felt very authentic and I loved getting to learn more about different types of art and food featured throughout the book. She’s also such a sweet FMC and I genuinely rooted for her throughout the entire book! She was really good at helping Aiden to open up and being vulnerable and taking brave steps throughout the story. She is thoughtful and kind, just like Aiden, and they both make such a great match for each other!
- The Characters! - This book has a diverse cast of characters, which I enjoyed very much! Can I also just acknowledge how cool it is that both of the main characters are successful, independent business owners? Love that! The characters in this book feel very relatable, the dialogue felt authentic, and I loved the different personalities as well as Aiden’s big family!
- Sparky! 🐉 - I mean, obviously, right?! He’s adorable. No doubting that. I loved how it felt at times like I was watching a Disney movie with the description of his facial expressions. So dang cute!

What I Liked:
- The Concept - I feel like this whole story idea and story world is a really unique concept that I haven’t seen before. I know there’s fantasy, cozy fantasy, cozy fantasy romance, but when I saw this cover I immediately felt like it was such a cool idea and I don’t know that anybody’s put all these elements together - the low-stakes, cozy romance, dragons, grumpy-sunshine - into one book. It may be that I’m still new to the world of cozy fantasy, but I just thought this was a really creative concept and I love how it was executed!

What I Didn’t Like:
- Lack of Description - This book is a quickly, easy read and there are certainly things I loved about the writing style in that it felt very conversational and relaxing to read. But, I will say I wanted more description. At times, it was hard to visually orient myself in the scene and if I’m being honest, I just wanted more of this world! It’s such a cozy, beautiful world and I wanted more descriptions to foster that cozy feeling.
- The Worldbuilding - A.T. Qureshi built a cool world in this book, no doubt! I love it and I want more! But it did take me a while to orient myself in it and I feel like the author could have expanded and shed more light on different aspects of it. For example, what exactly is the Dragon Council? That was never fully explained and was only briefly mentioned, but I’d love to hear more about it. What are the power structures of this world? What about the other creatures - the phoenixes and chimeras and griffins? I want to learn more. Basically, I want more and I am very much ready for more in her next book! I will be waiting with my popcorn and high anticipation.

All that said, this book was such a beautiful, cozy, warm, loving, wonderful read. I’m so happy I picked it up and so thankful I got to read this before it was published. The love story and characters (especially the MMC! ❤️) was sooo beautiful and I will be picking up a copy of this book for my shelf for those reasons! I can’t wait till I’m older and can pass this book down to my kids, because it’s such a treat. It made me emotional how sweet this couple is and they will hold a special place in my heart for a while. 🥹 🥰

Basically, I just want more of this book and more of this world and I am SO HAPPY that she is releasing more of these books soon! It felt like reading this that these books were written just for me because they ticked so many of my boxes in terms of the storytelling and sweet love story. I am in love and cannot wait! 2025 and 2026 cannot come soon enough! 🎆
