This is a message that is dear to my heart and I love G.E.’s heart for this message. Marriage truly does take three and we can’t do it without God in the center. It’s simply too hard.

Because of my own story I was drawn to this one, especially to Darla, the wife. I wanted to see how G.E. portrayed her.

I did understand Darla, her heart is so hard, I remember being there and the confusion can be overwhelming.

However, I didn’t fully connect with this story. I hate to say that because this book is getting great reviews, but I also need to give my honest opinion. I felt the message didn’t unroll naturally but was a bit forced. If this was a non-fiction book that would have been fine but this is fiction and I want to really get into the story and I had a lot of trouble connecting with the characters. Something was missing for me.

But with that being said, this is a powerful book and has a message that so many people need to hear today. I do believe this is a book God would be proud of because it is His hope for all of us who are married.

As always, I encourage you to form your own opinions and read the book for yourself if it sounds like one you might like.
