I read a book by an Irish reporter about the Magdalene laundries in Ireland that really got to me. For decades if not centuries, unmarried pregnant women were forced into laundries to work 10 hour days, 6 days a week, for no pay. Then their babies were taken from them and sold, often to Americans.
