I could tell right away that my 5th grade students would enjoy this book. It's relevant and relate-able to their digital social life and the situations these twins get themselves into are funny but their actions have consequences. Which I think is an important lesson. I find that many students don't realize the lasting impact their actions online have in the real world.
The characters are also likeable. The twins, Claudia and Reese, are as different as any pair of siblings could be. And despite the "war", the fact that they care about each other does come through. Their parents are a distant part of the oral history, as presented by the characters, but they are definitely present and their contribution is pretty hilarious.
