Description

Pickleball rivalry? Sure. Falling for your fake boyfriend? Now that’s a surprise.

Bex Martin’s racquet club is her entire world. But the business she inherited from her mother has started to feel more like a sinking ship. That is, until Nikolaus Karras—a former tennis bad-boy with an ego as big as his serve—makes himself at home on her courts.

Niko has something to prove, and a high-stakes pickleball tournament is just what he needs to get back in the game after a career-ending injury. When he is finally able to set his ego aside to ask for Bex’s help, everyone assumes that they are a couple—on and off the court.

But she needs the prize money to save the club, and he needs a win to restore his reputation. So now they have a fake relationship as well as a doubles partner that they can’t seem to resist. Game on!

When I heard that Kate Spencer was writing a pickleball romance, I believe I literally squealed. As someone who has loved all
her novels and has recently been recruited into playing pickleball by her parents, I was the perfect audience for “Alls Fair in Love and Pickleball” and I was NOT disappointed. This was a quick, easy read and I was especially happy that is spicier than Kate’s previous novels, which was a happy surprise!

Bex has recently taken over her parents tennis and pickleball club after her mom’s passing and finds herself struggling to keep it afloat as it is desperately in need of repairs and low on funds. When one of her favorite clients’ nephew, Niko shows up to train to revive his pro tennis career, Bex and Niko hatch a plan to help save the club.

The banter between Bex and Niko was so fun and spicy and their chemistry jumped off the page. While there was a lot of Bex’s grief and Niko’s career “stuff” this was a really light read and would be a perfect light cleanse if you need one or a good book to get out of a slump!

Almost made me want to play pickleball! ;) This was an enjoyable summer romp and I thought the chemistry and banter was fun and fluffy. Happy to see my favorite podcaster with another great book!

A very sweet and fun read!

The banter was great, a very classic (kinda) rivals-to-lovers story, plus fake dating? Sign me up! Both MCs are stubborn idiots, of course, but that's how we love them, and all their struggles make them so real, with the grief processing, the career change worries etc.

The found family, aka the supporting cast definitely adds more warmth and laughter to the whole set-up; they're all adorable and truly admirable when they go all in with their help.

I think it's a perfect summer read, even if you don't play pickleball :)
