I couldn’t put this down. This is my 8th book by Jaymin Eve, and it might be my favorite yet! Starts out with a bang and keeps on going.

Paisley Hallistar is our 22 y/o witch who got excepted to the oldest and most prestigious magical schools, Weatherstone College (Formed by two necromancer witches in the 1800s. A necromancer always sits as headmaster. Dark and creeping energy lives throughout the school). She is from a loving, powerful, big family. This family is so stinking cute and strong together. This book takes us on her journey through the first school year. I loved Paisley’s journey to discovering her powers and the mysteries behind it.

Logan Kingston is a 3rd year transfer from Italy who is the sexy tatted up powerful warlock with spellcaster magic (rarest, most powerful magic- can draw on the energy of the world itself for near limitless power). He secretly heals her and saves her life 3 times. 🖤 He calls her ‘precious’ which is super cute but gave me Lord of the Rings vibes. 🤣🤣

I got Romeo and Juliet vibes with this story. Paisley and Logan’s dads grew up together and were best friends. Then Logan’s mom tragically dies and Logan’s dad blames Paisley’s mom for the death of his wife. So, now there is a family feud and they are supposed to stay away from each other during the school year. The tension and slow burn is 🥵! That ending!! I NEED more. With monster attacks, sexy dreams, powers calling to each other, and so many laugh out loud moments and relatable scenes, I highly recommend this to romantasy fans!

Do you ever read a dedication and know right off the bat that a book is going to rock your world? Spellcaster instantly hooked its claws into me from the first page. Jaymin Eve's Shadow Beast Shifters series is one of my favorite series, so I couldn’t wait to dive into this new series. Her writing is addictive and enticing, effectively building steamy tension between the MCs while weaving a magically realistic story.

The magic system is detailed with four distinct affinities:
- Elementals (controlling air, water, metal, fire, or earth)
- Nature Sprites (bonding with animal familiars)
- Necromancers (communicating with spirits)
- Spellcasters (the rarest and most powerful)

Imagine joining a coven! It’s literally my dream to have magic and be in a coven. In this power-driven society, the strength of a coven directly impacts career opportunities and financial security. The FMC, Paisley, is refreshingly relatable with her self-deprecating humor and feelings of being an outsider and not good enough to be at Weatherstone (the most prestigious magical college in America).

Spellcaster intricately weaves a tale of power, connections, and alliances, where the dynamics of family and rivalry shape the destinies of its characters. I felt like this was the adult version of Harry Potter, but with an added twist of possessive and passionate relationships among mates. I loved every second of the nostalgic feelings it brought on and can’t wait to read more of this world.

It was an instant five stars for me. You know when a book just gets you?? That was Spellcaster. It’s giving Wednesday meets Legacies with a sprinkle of dark academia chaos, and I was so here for it. My little witchy heart soared, and honestly, this was the perfect way to kick off spooky season.

From the opening chapter, I was hooked. Jaymin Eve builds a magical world that feels like walking through the halls of a haunted boarding school while someone hands you a love potion laced with danger. Weatherstone College is steeped in secrets, and the magic? Unpredictable. Cursed. Delicious.

Logan Kingston is the ultimate “touch her and die” energy and I was FERAL for him. The enemies-to-lovers tension? Immaculate. The slow burn? Deliciously unbearable. And don’t even get me started on the “who hurt you?” warlock energy…OBSESSED!!
