I LOVED this! I recently read Rewitched and this was definitely similar (which is a great thing).
Funny throughout.
Filled with quirky characters that all bought a certain amount of wit.
Fast paced and entertaining.
I'm rather hoping that there might be a sequel. I need more of Jasper and Delilah

This series is endearing and filled with fun characters and intriguing storylines. The Melrose sisters make up a family of witches living in a witch filled town that is held by a spell that makes people who are not witches forget the minute they leave. When Jasper goes to Oak Haven to investigate the request for a liquor license for an address he didn’t recognize, he falls for Delilah who is just back home from studying magic in other communities. Their journey together is angsty as they know he will forget but she will not. There’s also suspense when magicians threaten their community. Readers will enjoy a strong sense of family, friendships, community and magic. The holiday season makes a perfect setting for sweet romance.
I really enjoyed this one! This series is so cozy - returning to Oak Haven felt like putting on a big sweater and sitting down with a hot drink. Delilah was a good protagonist and I enjoyed seeing another side to her from the first book. Jasper was also an intriguing MMC and I liked watching him grapple with the reality of magic and witches. Seeing Scarlett and Nate again was wonderful. This series is so funny and full of kooky characters. I am looking forward to Luna's story and seeing if the magicians will be back again!

Lovely to be back with the Melrose sisters and Oak Haven. The magicians strike again. I love the witches power .You have a lovely slow burn love story and a fabulous ending. You just escape . I loved the history part of the Salem witches . Read it
Delilah is a bit of a grumpy witch who doesn't enjoy doing the same things as her sisters. Instead of making rocks levitate, she would much rather be in a comfy bed after a fine dining experience. She teleports to Tokyo during Christmas time in hopes that it won't be festive, but she is very wrong. Unfortunately, her trip is cut short due to the Magicians being back in Oak Haven.
With the Saturnalia approaching all witches will lose their magic for three days. With the Magicians up to nothing but tricks Delilah and her sisters have to find a way to stop them.
I enjoyed all of the fun magical bits in Oak Haven. One of my favorite parts were the singing snowmen that could change songs with a simple snap of the fingers. I found myself laughing several times while reading this book, there is a ton of humor mixed into this fun story. I could just imagine Scarlett teaching gnomes how to have dance battles and what a fun time it would be. The titles of the chapters were also creative and silly. My personal favorite was Panic! At The Holiday Inn. As a cat lover, I never knew a group of cats was called a clowder. Thank you to Netgalley, Avon Books UK, and Emily Grimoire for an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion.

If you’ve ever wished your Christmas came with a dash of spellcraft and a side of sarcasm, Jingle Spells is your perfect festive escape. Emily Grimoire returns us to Oak Haven—a town so enchantingly odd, it feels like stepping into a snow globe shaken by a mischievous witch.
Delilah is not your typical holiday heroine. She’s sharp, stylish, and allergic to mistletoe sentimentality. Jasper, equally unimpressed by seasonal sparkle, stumbles into Oak Haven and promptly discovers that reality is negotiable when witches are involved. Their reluctant partnership simmers with tension and charm, unfolding against a backdrop of magical mayhem and sisterly solidarity.
The world-building is delightfully eccentric: singing snowmen, teleportation mishaps, and chapter titles that deserve their own stocking. Grimoire balances cozy chaos with genuine heart, crafting a story that celebrates difference, connection, and the quiet courage of coming home.
A slow-burn romance, a sprinkle of suspense, and a town full of gnomes with questionable dance moves—what more could you want from a holiday read?
With thanks to Emily Grimoire, the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

So thankful for this ARC @emily.grimoire @harpercollins @netgalley Release October 9th 2025! “The book blends holiday cheer with witchy mischief, featuring a charming small town, enchanted gingerbread, and a lighthearted tone, making it a perfect festive read for fans of Gilmore Girls and Charmed. “ the cutest ever and my favorite shows & themes 🍂☕️📚🎄💘
Magic is certainly in the air in Oak Haven.
Delilah has no intentions of returning to her witchy hometown of Oak Haven until her sister summons her with the news that there's trouble afoot. Oak Haven is a magical town that is the personification of Christmas when the holidays roll around, and it's something Delilah just isn't interested in. Neither is Jasper, a county clerk who is puzzled by a license coming from a location that shouldn't even exist.
Jingle Spells is filled with whimsical Christmas magic that will have you wanting to learn more about the town of Oak Haven. I lost myself completely in the vivid descriptions of all the holiday hoopla, and the theme of sisterhood really struck a chord for me.
The references to other popular media had me in stitches, especially when It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was alluded to. Jingle Spells doesn't shy away from the messiness of families, and the complex emotions that go along with it.
This is my first of Emily Grimoire's books and I've already added her first book to my read next list.
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the opportunity to read this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

A witchy, cozy holiday romance? Yes, please!
Delilah is the grumpy, independent witch I immediately rooted for. She wants nothing to do with Christmas (same, girl), but of course the universe drags her back to her magical hometown...complete with sisterhood, found family, and all the cozy small town vibes.
Then Jasper stumbles in, a Christmas hating human who accidentally sees way more magic than he’s supposed to. Watching these two team up while trying not to fall for each other under the mistletoe was both adorable and swoony.
The Gilmore Girls meets Charmed comp is spot on: snappy dialogue, witchy small town shenanigans, and enough chaos to keep the plot moving while still feeling like a warm blanket on a snowy day.
Bonus points for the sisterhood vibes, which gave the story extra heart.
If you’re looking for a holiday read that blends magic, romance, and cozy small town charm, Jingle Spells is a delightful pick.
I’ll definitely be re reading this one in December with a mug of hot cocoa in hand.
Delilah has spent years running the family inn in the magical town of Oak Haven, where witches have kept their magic secret form the outside world for centuries. Now she’s out to spread her wings and enjoy life. But her quest for peace and relaxation is interrupted by power hungry Magicians, who are determined to steal the magic of Oak Haven for themselves.
Jasper works in the county records office, a strange application for a road that doesn’t exist sends him on a journey to Oak Haven, where he learns of the witches and magic, but it’s not the first time he’s paid the town a visit.
The two connect and sparks fly, but can they overcome the magicians without Jasper losing all knowledge of Oak Haven.
This was an easy ready that added a dash of magic to a festive story.

A fun novel.
Not a genre I read very often and a new to me author but I thoroughly enjoyed this story where the protagonists are trying to save a town under siege. With their powers given up for Saturnalia and the forgetting spell which keeps their town safe mis-functioning, the witches of Oak Haven are at a standstill. Will nerdy human Jasper Hopkins, filing and archival research clerk at the county clerk’s office and the witch Delilah that he is falling for, save the day? And what happens when Jasper forgets Delilah’s existence?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Delilah is a witch who hates Christmas and has left her town of Oak Haven. Jasper who works in the county records office and stumbles across an application for a licence in a street that doesn't exist so decides to go and find it. Delilah has come home to help her family.
I enjoyed this book. Not a genre I've read before but liked all the twists and turns

"she's an independent witch" i loved this little line. i mean i would dream of having this sentence to my name was i was younger. add to that it then went on to mention Gilmore girls and charmed and basically this book had won me over before it began.
im not one for fantasy or the new trend for magic(sorry) and i get a bit on my soap box about how the fai world has just been used to excuse diabolical behaviour(often by men) in relationships. so im always cautious of magical things. but recently i've hit the theme in the rom-come era and im loving the little magical sparks that have entered those. it subtle. its part of it and almost believable. and this one was on exception.
oh and did we see the Christmas thing going on here too? yup this is part of our early Christmas gorgeousness we get this time of year. this years instalment of them all have been one of my faves. there have been some truly special ones. and i think its a lot to do with how much we all need them given our current world.
any i waffle, back to this book.
so we have Oak Haven where witches escape to. its a place that is safe for them. even if non witches come there they will forget it as soon as they leave. brilliant right?
Delilah is the daughter of the communities important members. she was different though. and wanted to live differently. more importantly she wanted to live away from this place.
but there is chaos at home. because their whole existence it at risk. their safety. they need her. the magicians are back and causing trouble for all of them. only Delilah and her sisters can stop them.
then we have human Jasper. he doesn't like the festive time of year. coming to Oak Haven to investigate something to do with his job seems an ok thing to do apart from the fact doesn't or shouldn't exist of course. little does he know what he is about to become involved in. and little does he know that meeting Delilah will be just what he needs this Christmas season and beyond.
i enjoyed all the magic in this book. it felt like it added sparkle to the festive theme. there is lots of lovely, witty jest in this books that can make you smile. the holiday high jinks and magic linked to what they got up to was a right giggle.
Emily did such a good job of describing her world here for us. i truly felt like i could see it, feel it almost be in it.
i really enjoyed this book and would recommend it ti anyone.
i shall be off to try find more from this author too.

I was completely charmed by this magical holiday romance. This book brings together two wonderfully flawed and relatable characters, a witch and a human who both despise Christmas. The chemistry between Delilah and Jasper is electric, and watching their attraction grow amidst magical mayhem is an absolute delight. Beyond the enchanting premise, the book's real strength lies in its heart, reminding us that even the grumpiest of people can find warmth and love during the holiday season. It's a perfect read for fans of character-driven romance with a sprinkle of magic.
Jingle Spells is a festive, funny, and heartwarming return to Oak Haven, a witchy town brimming with quirky magic and strong family ties.
Delilah Melrose is a grumpy, stylish witch who’d rather avoid holiday cheer—until Jasper stumbles into Oak Haven and into her life. Their slow-burn romance is equal parts angsty and charming, especially as the threat of the Magicians looms and Saturnalia approaches, leaving all witches powerless for three days.
Emily Grimoire’s world-building sparkles with whimsical details—singing snowmen, teleportation mishaps, and even gnomes learning dance battles.
The humor, creative chapter titles, and cozy chaos make this a standout holiday read.
A perfect blend of romance, magic, and seasonal mischief, Jingle Spells will leave you laughing, swooning, and wishing your Christmas came with a side of spellcraft.
Thank you to Netgalley, Avon Books UK, and Emily Grimoire this eARC.

Absolutely fantastic book. Easy five stars. Will be recommending on my Facebook book group. Also giving a copy to my family members that read!

Thank you to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for the ARC, all opinions are my own!
Firstly, make sure you pick up Impractical Magic (currently 99p on the Amazon Kindle September 2025 deals) and read it first; the plot of Jingle Spells follows on from the events in Impractical Magic.
This is the perfect cosy fantasy to get you in the Christmas mood, and is a must read for the autumn season! If you’re looking for a book about a small town with whimsical characters that makes you is reminiscent of Gilmore Girls then look no further.
Jingle Spells is a tale of sisterly bonds, unexpected love and found family. We see Delilah exploring and come to terms with her grief, and Jasper step outside his comfort zone and explore a whole new world he had no idea existed. Watching them develop a relationship whilst knowing that the forgetting spell would work on Jasper once outside the town was simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking. I was rooting for them to find a way to be together despite the spell.
I cannot wait to return to the world of Oak Haven and the Melrose sisters next year when we get Luna’s story! I love the town and the Melrose family and am invested in their happy endings.
Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. This book is expected to be out October 1, 2025.
I enjoyed this book, but it took a bit to get into it. The first bit was pretty slow moving, but once everything was established, it was wonderful. The author has such a fun spin on how the magic was used, and I appreciate the Christmas mixed in with it.
Oak Haven is a place where the Salem witches escaped to. Located in Connecticut, the town has been spelled to make non-witches forget the place as soon as they leave. This was done to keep the people of Oak Haven safe.
Delilah is the daughter of one of the founding families. She has been away dealing with the death of her father, when her sister shows up to retrieve her. The magicians, who have been feuding with the witches for as long as anyone can remember, have built a casino overnight right outside the town line. This is disastrous, as the people there can see Oak Haven, and the forgetting spell of the town won't work on them.
At the same time, Jasper has just arrived in Oak Haven for what he thinks is the first time. In reality, he keeps showing up. Him and Delilah have an instant connection, and he decides to stay and help with the magicians.
Overall, the story is so well done. Spice is closed door for the most part. The characters were likable, and felt real. 4.5 stars rounded up to 5.
This was a cosy Christmas novel that got me excited for Christmas the characters were on point I absolutely loved them

What a smashing book. So witchy and Christmassy. I enjoyed this alot as it made me laugh a lot and the sisters had such a great relationship with each other. A different type of Christmas book which I'm sure will appeal to lots of readers. Firstly, thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC
Having read the first book in this series, it was great to get the view from older sister Delilah.
Not a fan of the Christmas holidays, but bored of travelling with her little sister, she returns to her home in Oak Haven. At her return, there is a massive casino just outside the town, run by the witches enemy, the magicians. Can the witches stop the magicians from ruining their hidden town?
Jasper is archivist, he shows up in Oak Haven, not realising he has been there before, when he meets Delilah and sparks fly, but can they get their wish of love?
Can't wait for book 3!

Emily Grimoire never disappoints for a cute cozy with all the feels book. Do I recommend Jingle spells… definitely yes. Characters you can like and think of as family. Thank you to NetGalley, Emily and publishers for the arc.

I’d give this one a solid 4 stars. It definitely took me a little while to get into, but once I did, I found myself completely absorbed. The mix of magic and holiday vibes was such a fun twist, and even though I’m not the biggest Christmas person, I loved the way it was woven into the story without feeling too cheesy. The atmosphere had that cosy, small town charm with with some added magic to keep things fresh and interesting
The characters really won me over. Delilah was the kind of strong, slightly prickly heroine I can’t help but root for, and Jasper brought just the right balance to her energy. Their dynamic felt natural and swoony without being over the top, and the sisterhood/found family threads gave the whole book so much heart. Overall, it left me feeling warm and happy. Not quite a perfect read for me, but definitely one I’d recommend. I think I’ll be rereading this in December!
Make sure you read the first book in the series too as you’ll enjoy this book more if you’ve been introduced to the characters and world a little in Impractical Magic first
Morticia A, Reviewer
This was such fun and did not have a totally soppy ending ;). I actually laughed out loud for a while at the end of chapter 4.
Jasper is the county archivist and and comes across a liquor license for s place that can't possibly exist. What he finds there, is a village of witches in grave trouble.
He rapidly falls in love with one of them and vows to solve their problems, but that means leaving behind his new-found love.
Catey C, Reviewer
If you have ever wanted a witchy book but set in Christmas. This is your book! The romance was so cute!
“I’m bringing a civilian to see a witch who once turned a mailman into a sundial for delivering too much junk mail. Worried doesn’t cover it.”
Gosh this book was so stinking funny!!! If you’re looking for a witchy book for Christmas, this one comes out on Oct 1st and I highly recommend it!!
Delilah is sitting in her hotel when all of a sudden she hears a crash in the bathroom, where finds her sister fully clothed ans soaking wet in the shower. Scarlet had been looking all over for her to let her know her presence was needed and home because their little town of Oak Haven was dealing with pesky magicians trying to stake claim on their territory!
Jasper works as the city clerks office, and finds some mysterious paperwork down in the basement where he deals with all the historical archives so he sets out to a mysterious location that he is sure doesn’t exist. He then finds himself in a town of witches, and in over his head with the information he has discovered.
This book is filled with banter, and magical adventures and is sure to keep you hooked from beginning to end! I am still laughing even after I am done reading this book, and cannot wait for more of you to read it!
Jingle Spells is a perfect book to transition you from your cozy reads right into the spirit of Christmas when you’re not quite ready to fully leave the witchy vibes to deck the halls.
I found Delilah’s character really relatable as the oldest sibling in my family, but found all the characters to be likable. The story itself made me laugh, the quips from the sisters produced late night giggling while reading in the dark. As a mom of three, I wish I had a cloning spell at times - what a clever idea.
I found the book to be medium paced, something I could set down & come back to with ease. I also enjoyed how the author titled each chapter, I don’t read a lot of books that have a detail like that.
I would recommend this book to friends that enjoy a lighthearted fantasy, something that feels like your everyday with a touch of magic.
This is a perfect, feel-good, cosy up with the fire and Christmas tree lit behind you kind of book. Perfect Christmas read, simple and easy! This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed, and I would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if it were in a bookshop.

Jingle Spells is a cozy, magical holiday romance perfect for fans of Gilmore Girls and Charmed. Delilah, a witch who despises Christmas, returns to her hometown just in time for the holidays, only to team up with Jasper, a human who hates Christmas just as much. Together, they must restore order in the enchanting town of Oak Haven while fighting a growing attraction that neither expected.
With its witchy vibes, small-town charm, and themes of found family, this story feels like sipping hot cocoa under twinkle lights. A grumpy x grumpy romance full of festive magic, sweet, whimsical, and heartwarming!
Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for the Arc!
Delilah, Scarlett, and Luna are sisters—and witches. When their father dies, Scarlett and Luna cope by leaving Oak Haven, while Delilah stays behind to run the family’s Melrose business, the Stargazer Inn, for a full decade. When Scarlett finally returns, Delilah sees her chance to pack a bag and maybe find a life of her own… but where should she go?
Before she can get far, Scarlett comes searching for her help. Delilah refuses—until Scarlett drops the bombshell: the magicians are back. That’s all it takes for Delilah to pack her bags and return home.
Enter Jasper, who works in the archives and records office. On a visit to Oak Haven, he’s told he’s been there before—but every time he leaves, he forgets it all. Through the Earl family, a colorful pirate clan, Jasper learns the history of how Salem witches fled persecution and cast a spell around their new home. But the spell isn’t perfect—it has an “altitude hole.” Add in the long-standing feud between witches and magicians, the rise of a magician-built Las Vegas with its flashy tours, and Jasper’s growing bond with Delilah, and the stakes get higher. Because this time, Jasper doesn’t want to forget.
This book had everything I love in a holiday cozy: quirky, magical sisters, a layered backstory, romance with a twist, and a small-town setting full of charm. I especially loved Jasper’s journey—how he tries to decide if it’s Delilah or the whole world he’s supposed to believe in. A festive, heartwarming read with a spark of magic.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
Gentle Romance
OH MY GOD this was good.
I was tentative going into this, having heard mixed things about Impractical Magic, but Jingle Spells was just fantastic. Set in the best example of a small town I have ever read, with a wide, diverse and hilarious mix of characters, this is a world that you're not going to want to leave. Delilah is such a funny FMC, she's headstrong and determined and I love her for it. And Jasper!!! Sweet, determined Jasper. They were both so quietly accepting of their fate, and I loved it for that.
This book is full of humour, heart and magic, and you're not going to want to leave the world any time soon.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for this ARC!

Jingle Spells by Emily Grimoire is the perfect mix of holiday charm, cozy magic, and a sprinkle of romance. From the very first chapter, it wraps you in a warm, whimsical world full of festive cheer and enchanting spells. I loved how the story blended holiday traditions with a magical twist, making it feel both comforting and exciting.
The characters were fun and endearing, and the cozy small-town atmosphere made me want to curl up with a blanket, hot cocoa, and twinkling lights while reading. It’s exactly the kind of book that puts you in the holiday spirit!

3.5 stars. It’s cozy, it’s charming, it sets the holiday mood. So, many elements of the story have just been used in every other cozy, witchy, Christmas book that I was hoping for something new and different.

Loved reading the mesmerizing and engaging paranormal story. When Delilah, a witch, is called back home to fight the evil magicians, she meets Jasper, a human. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story.

Jingle Spells is exactly the kind of book I want to curl up with on a frosty December night—festive, magical, and just the right amount of spicy.
Delilah is such a brilliant heroine—fierce, funny, and utterly relatable in her dislike of Christmas. When she’s pulled back to her hometown of Oak Haven, I immediately felt that small-town charm (and a dash of chaos) seeping through the pages. And then there’s Jasper—our grumpy outsider human—who stumbles into this witchy world and turns everything upside down. The chemistry between the two? Pure festive fireworks.
I adored the mix of cosy Christmas vibes and supernatural mischief. One chapter would make me laugh with the small-town antics, the next had me swooning over the growing spark between Delilah and Jasper. The Gilmore Girls meets Charmed comparison is spot on—there’s banter, magic, family drama, and plenty of heart.
If you’re looking for a festive romance that sparkles with both mistletoe kisses and witchy chaos, this one is a total treat.
Jingle Spells is a magical, cosy romance that will warm you right through—like hot chocolate with a cheeky kick of spice.
Absolutely loved this book, this is my first book by this author and definitely won't be the last.
Really good storyline
Good characters
Highly recommend
Witchy, witty, and wonderfully festive. Delilah’s a grumpy witch dragged back to her magical hometown just in time for Christmas chaos—and Jasper, a human with zero holiday spirit, stumbles into the spellbound town of Oak Haven.
Well wasn't this a fun cute, cosy witchy holiday romance to read.
I really enjoyed this one. The writing, the plot, the characters (main and side). I had fun reading this book. What i also love is a magical town. love all that. This will be perfect to read for november/December time. The little twists had me turning the pages.
If you like witches, proper magic, cosy romances and awkward mmc with no people skills and magical towns then this is for you

First thing i need to mention is how gorgeous the cover is and how it drew me in immediately. I feel i must say we shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but in this case it's fine as the story within is fabulous.
It was lovely to be back in Oak Haven and this time with a wonderfully festive witchy read, phew that's a mouthful!
Fantastic story highly recommend
Jingle Spells by Emily Grimoire is a delightfully whimsical and festive read, blending magic, humor, and holiday cheer in a way that’s utterly charming. Grimoire’s playful storytelling and enchanting characters make it perfect for cozying up with during the season. A fun, heartwarming read that sparkles with holiday spirit.
Thank you to the publisher for providing me with a ARC of the book. Christmas meets pagan witch traditions in a hidden town in Connecticut!
Loved
- The blending of traditions from all kinds of backgrounds combined with the joy of Christmas!
- Eps and his cats
- All the Doctor Who references around time travel and the size of certain rooms
- Grumpy/grumpy romance
- The contrast between flashy modern magicians and old school traditional witches
Meh
- Considering how much of the book takes place in a full on crisis, there was an annoying lack of urgency amongst the characters
- Delilah was a bit difficult to connect to as a main character
Overall it is a fun holiday book about the battle between witches and magicians. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4!
Thank you so much to Avon Books for allowing me early access to a digital copy of this book for review. All opinions are my own.
Jingle Spells is the second book in the Oak Haven Witches series. If you're unfamiliar with the series, Oak Haven is a small town home to the witches who escaped the Salem Witch Trials. What's special about the town is that it's hidden behind a memory lapsing spell, so any outsiders who visit will never remember who or what they saw the moment they step outside of the perimeter. As for this story, we get to follow Delilah as she returns home from traveling to help her family fight off yet another attack from the magicians who are out to destroy their lifestyle. In the midst of dealing with magicians, the county historian, Jasper, has a few questions that leads him to rediscovering Oak Haven, and meeting Delilah who he is unexpectedly smitten with. The question is, can Delilah save the town, and what does that mean for her and Jasper?
This was such a fun and cute read! I always love a good witchy rom-com and this one was extra unique because the witches have come to love holiday decorations so the whole time is less spooky and more festive. Delilah and Jaspers story was really sweet and getting to see them connect and open up was precious. Definitely add this to your TBR if you're looking for a good time this autumn leading into the holiday season! And don't forget to check out the first book first (something I failed to do but had no problems reading this with out any confusion).
This cozy Christmas romance blends the small-town charm of "Gilmore Girls" with the magical world of "Charmed." Delilah, a strong witch who dislikes Christmas, and Jasper, a human avoiding the holiday, must team up to save their magical town. Their growing attraction adds a delightful spark to the festive chaos. Perfect for readers who love warm, magical, and romantic holiday stories with humor and heart
This was absolutely fun, cozy, cute and right up my alley! I love witchy romances but I love them even more when it’s a cozy setting with low stakes! I enjoyed reading it, I honestly may re read it when it’s closer to the holiday season!
I have only recently been getting into romance and I have to say the paranormal and witchy subgenres with cosy vibes are some of my favourites. Jingle Spells initially drew me in with the title, I love a good pun, but I stayed for the story and characters. Delilah is amazing and I loved Jasper too. The vibes of this book, as someone who is a spooky and autumn loving girl, were still perfect. I adored the holiday season feeling, the cosy small town and the whimsy and magic of it too. It is the perfect read for cool autumn nights and approaching winter. This was my first Grimoire book but I’ve already ordered Impractical Magic now and preordered this one too.
As always thank you to the publisher for the advanced copy to review, my reviews are always honest and freely given.
This was the perfect follow up to practical magic! We're thrown straight back into the action with the formidable Melrose clan. The building tension is just 👌 and the general chaos makes this such a page turner!
Delilah and Jasper are just so sweet together! 2 souls who have definitely been searching for each other! Their quirky, nerdy ways are so endearing and gave me all the mushy feels!
If you like witchy reads and small town vibes this book is definitely for you! 💜💜

Delilah and Jasper both hate Christmas. When both of them end up in Oak Haven they must work together to restore the order that has erupted in the town.
This was a whimsical tale. Based in a small town with a slow burn romance it gave a festive escape read. It sometimes had mixed pacing but overall the cozy magical witchy vibe shone through.
I enjoyed reading Jingle Spells by Emily Grimoire. You will fall in love with all the characters. I received an ARC of this book courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely. Happy Reading!

"Let me get this straight. Oak Haven is a magical sanctuary town, protected by spells, founded by Salem witches trying to make up for abandoning their innocent neighbours?"
This was a light-hearted, cozy read. It reminded me a bit of Erin Sterling's 'The Ex Hex' and 'Witch You Weren't Here' by Emma Jackson - but set during the festive season.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
Delilah and Jasper are adorable and this was the perfect way to start gearing up for my christmas reads. This is set in the same place as book 1 and oh my did I enjoy getting to head back to that cosy town. This has enough of an autumn vibe that you can read it now.
the perfect book to start autumn season :)
super cute
super cozy and i am so ready for christmas
the atmosphere is what sold me this book right now and i know everyone will love it

Two people who dislike Christmas find themselves surrounded by the magic of it (literally and figuratively) in the town of Oak Haven. Delilah, a witch, was born and raised in the town but has spent some time away after her father's passing. Jasper, a normal, is from a nearby town and has visited Oak Haven at least six times though he's never remembered it, and he's certainly never remembered her.
This was a cozy, low stakes, small town, slow burn romance. It's slower paced, but has lots going on, from family drama to magicians to casinos to amnesia tropes. If you liked Impractical Magic you'll love this continuation of the Melrose sisters and Oak Haven with a festive twist.

I loved this book! It was the perfect balance of humour, magic, whimsy and adventure. I would love to visit Oak Haven one day and then forget all about it 😉
Thank you to Avon Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of Jingle Spells.
This cozy, fantasy rom-com was such a joy to read! The story follows Delilah Melrose, who is called back to her magical hometown of Oak Haven for Christmas. The town is facing some unusual problems—like a giant casino suddenly appearing next door. The long-standing forgetting spell that hides Oak Haven no longer works on visitors snapping photos from the casino windows, threatening to expose the town’s magic.
At the same time, Jasper, (the town next doors records officer) arrives with an odd liquor license permit for a place that technically shouldn’t exist—since Oak Haven does not appear on any map. As Delilah and Jasper cross paths, sparks fly, and they must team up to protect Oak Haven from outside magicians who want to claim it for themselves. The only complication? Delilah is a witch, Jasper is not, and if he ever leaves Oak Haven, he’ll forget both her and their growing relationship.
I adored this book—the perfect blend of witchcraft, Christmas charm, and rom-com fun. The characters are lovable, the worldbuilding whimsical, and it feels like the start of a fantastic series. I’m already excited knowing Emily Grimoire has another book set in Oak Haven coming in 2026! I’ll definitely be recommending this magical holiday read to friends when it releases on Oct 1, 2025.
A cosy, witchy Christmas romance with plenty of charm. I loved the small town magic of Oak Haven and the festive chaos that pulls Delilah back home just as Jasper stumbles into a world he shouldn’t be able to see . Their reluctant partnership and growing attraction add a sweet spark to the story, and the blend of holiday warmth, witchy mishaps, and found family vibes makes this a really fun seasonal read. Some moments felt a little light, but overall it’s a delightful, feel good escape for anyone who loves magical Christmas romances.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.
After reading another book from this author, this was an automatic wishlist read, I truly enjoyed it. I love the witchy tales and this author does them exactly I like. Highly recommend this one especially for witchy Christmas feels.

Witchy romance books are so often fall-coded which is fun but tends to get stale without more. I’ve never seen one that is holidays-coded and this was so much fun!
I didn't realise at the time of requesting this book that it was a sequel. I actually own book one but haven't read it yet, so will return to this instalment once I've read book one. The parts that I did read before realising it's a sequel were great so I'm more than happy to say that this will be an entertaining read!

I really enjoyed the second installment of the Oak Haven Witches. I liked that our MC's were more atypical, and were perfect for each other. I liked how the conflict in the end was resolved, and I loved seeing the Earls again. Overall, an entertaining, funny, and unique story. *I recevied an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This caught my eye because it gave off Gilmore Girls vibes, which it did.
It’s fun, cute, all the fall/holiday vibes, with a fun cover. I would recommend it to others happily for the holidays
First of all I would like to say thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I love the cover to this book and even without reading the blurb I would have picked it up in a bookshop! This book was the perfect cosy festive read, it is your usual magical fantasy romance with a sprinkle of Christmas thrown in and was just the perfect quick read during the busy festive period.
As someone who loves a festive, cosy and whitchy book, this one had everything! Some bits reminded me of The very secret society of irregular withes and Rewitched and I loved both of those books so this one was a 4 star straight away. 100% recommended :)
Firstly, thank you so much for letting me read Jingle Spells.
We return to Oak Haven, where Delilah is made to return home to help with an emergency, the magicians are back, and worse than before.
Jasper works in historical filings, when one day a liquor licence for an address hes never heard of lands on his desk. He decides to investigate, in doing so, he wanders into the magical land, however not for the first time.
I very much enjoyed this book! Had all the romance and family dynamics.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me a copy of this book to review.
This was a fantastic read, and I enjoyed it a lot. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

I flew through this one over christmas break. It was the perfect holiday read for me. Quickly paced, festive (even though the characters weren't exactly in the "spirit") and sweet. There stakes weren't too high to stress me out and the relationship between Jasper and Delilah was fun to follow. I had not read Impractical Magic before reading this, but i just went out and bought it!
A cute and cozy Christmas read for those bah-humbugs who fall in love during the holidays. Small-town romance, witchy vibes, and a Gilmore Girls type of feel. An adorable little story.
Thank you to the author and NetGally for gifting me this eARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'm happy to say that I enjoyed Jingle Spells a lot more compared to the first book, and that's all thanks to the main characters - Delilah and Jasper.
While the plot with the magic and outcome has some plot holes (which perhaps will be explained in the next book),! did like the sweet moments in the small magical community of Oak Haven.
Even though I'm the younger sister, I acted as the
"traditional" first born, where I felt I have to uphold everything so I totally get where Delilah is coming from about felling like she had to stay and sacrifice her happiness.
The ending was a little vague, though I'm glad it was a HEA.
This was such a cute and fun witchy holiday read. It’s got messy magic, cosy vibes, and just enough chaos to keep things fun without ever getting too serious. The main character Delilah is snarky, the found-family moments land, and the whole thing feels like a warm hug. The perfect companion to Impractical Magic, and I can’t wait for Book 3 to see what our 3rd Oak Haven Witch sister gets up to.
Such a wholesome and lovely book and a perfect way to return to Oak Haven! It was the perfect nod to Christmas vibes and I absolutely love love loved almost everything about this but that ENDING gah I need the next book now please and thank you. Huge thanks to Emily and Avon Books for giving me access to the eARC via NetGalley ✨

Cute. sweet, and magical romantic Christmas book in a series for our cozy romantasy fans. Not too spicy, definitely festive. I love the punny chapter names.
I'm a big supporter of my local bookstore and so bought the surprise Halloween book this year - and so learned all about the Oak Haven Witches with Scarlett's story, Impractical Magic. For the Christmas holidays, Jingle Spells spotlights her big sister, Delilah, who has been living at home in Oak Haven while Scarlett has been travelling. I will say that this book really doesn't require Impractical Magic to follow it - it's connected, but definitely a standalone.
This book zooms in on a part of the Oak Haven lore that was touched on in the last book - that any non witch who spends time or lives in Oak Haven will be begin to forget it as soon as they leave. So while instant sparks fly between Delilah and local county archivist Jasper, they're very aware that unless Jasper remains in Oak Haven forever, they're living on borrowed time.
The premise could go a bit dark, and while there is a bit of angst, it's definitely not the darkest version of this trope - more a bittersweet version. I enjoyed the book, and it's a sweet Christmas read. Hopefully we'll be back for summer with Luna's story next. This is for fans of Erin Sterling and Sarah Hawley. Thanks to Avon Books for the review copy.
Jingle Spells by Emily Grimoire is the kind of holiday romance that feels like a cup of hot cocoa with extra marshmallows — cozy, sweet, and just a little bit magical. From the first page, the festive vibes and whimsical charm pull you right into Grimoire’s world, where love might just be the most powerful spell of all.
I fell for the characters instantly — they’re quirky, earnest, and wonderfully imperfect in all the ways that make holiday stories so fun to read. The way Grimoire blends magical elements with everyday struggles gives the book a playful sparkle without ever feeling too over-the-top.
The chemistry between the leads sizzles in that slow-burn, will-they/won’t-they way that had me grinning on the train and sighing by the fire. And even when things got cliché (I won’t lie, there are a few predictable twists), the heart and humor kept me completely engaged.
Jingle Spells isn’t just a seasonal romance — it’s a little reminder that sometimes the best kind of magic is the kind that brings people together. If you love Christmas stories with heart, humor, and a dash of enchantment, this one will definitely leave you smiling.
Back to Oak Haven with all its magic and fun characters for a super follow on to Impractical Magic! No dissapointment here as the witches return to once again fend off those insidious magicians - and maybe a bit of romance for oldest sister Delilah? Or will all be forgotten outside the town limits. Warm, magical, adventurous, and just darn fun, amd gotta love those little campy references to music, TV, and movies - can't wait for more!
Oak Haven is a hidden town full of witches and magic. There’s a spell that keeps anyone who visits accidentally from remembering anything about their time there. This seemed like a protection but now feels like more of a punishment to the witches we’ve met so far. I read book #1 but I’m pretty sure you can dive in here if you want.
Delilah was always the responsible sister, running the inn their family owned even after their father tragically died. It seemed like everyone else got to deal with their feelings in a more natural way, but Delilah has now taken to running away with her spell-learning-obsessed sibling. It’s here where we meet up with her, trying to recover from the last magician attack on the town, only to now be pulled back to manage yet another attack.
Jasper is a very organization, methodical history-obsessed record keeper. He can’t resist following a mystery to Oak Haven, where he has already been put through the memory eraser spell several times. On this most recent time, however, he ends up getting drawn into the Oak Haven fight against magicians and falling for one certain witch. This love story is tragic and so wonderful. The journey we go on with them both is so not what you’d expect that it surprised me at every turn. The ending, while not traditional, was also very refreshing.

ugh, the ending? idk why but it made me soooo sad!! and it was going so damn well, but i wanted a loophole damn it!
book two in this series was really cute and i loved getting to see another sister fall in loooooove. delilah being the responsible sister was so relatable. always putting her family first for so long even though she's not taking care of herself to do so. it was great that they all started to take on their own tasks to save their town from the magician's and it really brought them closer as a family. althought i cannot lie, them fighting with magician's was taking me the fuck out. because what do you mean that's who you're fighting? bffr
i would have liked to see a better ending, but i'm hoping that book three will give us our last sister and also a resolution to the ending of book two. that would be the best way to end this series & keep it a buttoned up happy ending trilogy.
thank you to netgalley & avon books for the copy of my ebook!
Thank you to NetGalley for providing this ARC 💕
I adored this! The cute, cosy, Christmassy setting coupled with the hard hitting, high stakes drama was a perfect pair!
Delilah wasn’t my favourite but by the end I just wanted her to be happy 🥹 this has also made me want to pick up the other books in this series!
I loved the community of the coven and how they all had important parts to play.
The idea of Magicians rivalling Witches is so clever and utterly captivating!
I also really liked Jasper (the love interest) and his dorky vibes. The forgetting spell was an excellent way to add tension to the story 💕
This was a really fun and cute witchy festive read - the perfect mixture of that magical, cosy feeling we all aspire for during the Christmas period.
Witchy, festive and full of fun, what is not to love in this brilliant read! The perfect read for the run up to Christmas after a witch halloween
This holiday story has a fun mix of magic, chaos, and two people who seriously do not vibe with Christmas. Delilah and Jasper aren’t exactly full of holiday joy. Jasper, just a regular guy, accidentally wanders into Oak Haven )a hidden town full of magic). Since he has no clue what’s going on, everything gets explained to him. So, if you didn’t rebook one, this one could be a read as a standalone.
Delilah is only back in Oak Haven because her own place is in trouble, and I liked how Jasper kept getting pulled toward he, like he had somehow met her before. 😉
One thing that really grabbed me was finding out the witches’ big threat comes from magicians. Learning how the two groups differ was actually really interesting. All the history and little details about their feud added a fun layer to the story.

Jingle Spells by Emily Grimoire is A Spellbinding Slice of Holiday Magic!
If Gilmore Girls ever had a love child with Charmed and set it loose in a Hallmark Christmas movie, this book would be it. Delilah is everything I want in a witchy heroine — smart, snarky, and determined to escape her small-town roots… until Oak Haven needs her back. Jasper, a Christmas-avoiding human who accidentally stumbles into the supernatural, is the perfect grumpy-to-her-sunshine match.
Their chemistry crackles like a fire on a snowy night, and the magical chaos that keeps throwing them together is pure fun. Add in found family, sibling dynamics, and a charmingly festive town with way too many secrets, and you get a holiday story that warms your heart like a mug of spiced cocoa.
A must-read for anyone who loves cozy vibes, slow-burn romance, and a little magic under the mistletoe!

RATED 3.5 (rounded up to 4 stars)
This is the second in a planned trilogy, but as someone who did not read the first book before coming to this, this is readable as a standalone (though there are references to the previous book).
This was a Christmassy, witchy story and I did enjoy the vibes. I think the overall worldbuilding of the town was really interesting, but the rest of the worldbuilding fell a little flat and left a lot of unanswered questions. Since this is a series, there is a chance that those answers are in the next book which would be expected, but considering this is the second book and there are still questions about how magic works, I'm a little disappointed there.
There were elements of this book that made this story feel much darker in places. I won't go into it too much as I think it is a spoiler, but the forgetting spell on the town made for some dark moments which did distract a bit.
As usual with books like this, I think that this is a fantasy-romance with the romance being secondary - I have nothing wrong with that, but it sometimes felt that the romance was being forced into the story. There were parts where it made sense, but it easily could have been a friendship or another strong bond instead.
That being said, I did enjoy this and was interested in how it ended! It kept me intrigued until the end. I will also add that a story like this rarely has diverse characters - characters of colour, queer character etc - but this had a diverse array of characters, so I will really commend it for that!
Overall, if you enjoy small town romances (á la Gilmore Girls), and witchy fantasies, then this book (and this series) will be perfect for you. Like I said, there is not as much focus on the romance as the fantasy, but it is a sweet romance nonetheless.

This was such a cute and fun read to get into the holiday spirit! I loved the dynamic between the two main characters and the witch storyline
Jingle Spells is a fun, festive romp with just the right mix of magic, mischief, and holiday spirit. Delilah and Jasper’s reluctant partnership brings humor and charm as they navigate the chaos of a witchy small town during Christmas. Though I wished for a bit more chemistry, the story still delivered plenty of cozy charm and seasonal magic. Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the opportunity to read and review this title!
A real festive feel good.
Although I found this one a bit of a slow burn and slow pace I did overall enjoy. Unfortunately though my arc copy had so many spelling errors ect it became tricky to read.
I would if possible enjoyed more had I read book one.
Reviewer 1652569
This book felt just like a warm hug, very similar to a cheesy hallmark film. I really enjoyed the writing style and found it fun to read, I also constantly wanted to know what would happen next because I could not predict where the plot was going! It had such a wide variety of different and interesting characters, however some had me very annoyed, but I think I would have enjoyed it more if I read the first book in the series beforehand. It contained good representation in regards to characters which is always appreciated. It constantly had me amused yet also had a tenderness to it, with some elements surrounding grief and the festive season, I don’t think this book felt all that festive, however i enjoyed seeing other festivals shown! I wasn’t fully convinced of the main characters relationship, just because I feel like it happened too fast/was a bit insta-love, however that’s not to say I didn’t root for them throughout, just would have liked to seen more development. I was very happy however with how the story rounded up, and I’m looking forward to reading Lunas story next.
The town of Oak Haven is a place that technically doesn’t exist and yet it does. Chaos erupts in this town, bringing Delilah, a witch, back just in time for the holidays - the only thing that might bring her back for the Christmas season. A human, Jasper, finds himself in this town that definitely is not supposed to exist and becomes embroiled in having to save the town from the chaos.
I’ll be honest. I’ve never watched Gilmore Girls (I should though, right?), Charmed, or Bewitched and yet somehow I knew I was going to love and devour this book. The perfect transition from fall to winter, I let this one drag out because I didn’t want the story to end. I finally finished it today, on the first day of snowfall in my own town.
I absolutely loved this novel and I am so excited that I have a previous book in the series to go back to (Impractical Magic). I think the most disappointing thing for me is that I had not heard of this series before and no one I know had read either.
It was a perfect cozy read for a chilly fall or winter day, snuggled under a blanket with a nice warm beverage. Time for me to go back to the beginning and catch up on Scarlett’s story now!
I was given an e-arc in exchange for an honest review and I’d like to thank NetGalley, Avon Books UK, and Emily Grimoire for the opportunity.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
3.5 stars!
This was a fun and witchy holiday read! Definitely read like a hallmark movie in a good way. I enjoyed the town, the characters, and the magic. I also always enjoy a book about sisters. Overall a good Christmas read!
This had the the cozy-winter-witch-romance vibe I was hoping for! Delilah returns home to the magical town of Oak Haven just in time for Christmas, despite her best efforts to avoid the season, and the tension between her and Jasper (who also hates the holidays) is absolutely delightful. The book blends small-town charm, witchy whimsy and a lovely forced proximity romance in a way that feels fun and heart-warming. While the premise leans familiar, Grimoire’s tone is fresh, witty and full of holiday magic; I found myself totally immersed in the world she built and genuinely rooting for the characters to find their spark. Adored this book for its shabby-chic Christmas decorations, found families and a little supernatural mischief, really enjoyed it!
This is my first read by Emily Grimoire and I was pleasantly surprised by the playfulness of the storyline and the witty banter of this colorful cast of characters.
I’ve neither watched Gilmore Girls or Charmed so I’m not sure I can cosign on the promise that this book is perfect for those particular fans. But what I can say is that Jingle Spells has loads of surprises, merriment, Christmas cheer, and a sense of community that’ll warm your heart and tickle your funny bone.
I liked the attention to detail of Oak Haven’s origin story and enjoyed reading about the unique twist the author took on witch folklore.
Delilah and Jasper had pretty good chemistry. They complemented each other well, but I would’ve liked to have a little more romance in the story. They are great partners in mischief though and made my heart happy as often as they tore it in two.
What I really loved was the special bond between Delilah and her sisters, Scarlett and Luna. They are wickedly fun, equally stubborn, and so loveable.
Jingle Spells is a delightful read full of whimsy, witchery, and wonder. It was a joy to read and I’m looking forward to the next book.
An absolutely adorable festive read. A really cute idea and very well executed. I was desperate to start reading this as soon as I was accepted for the ARC and it definitely didn’t disappoint, I loved it from the first page and inhaled it in one sitting.

As a massive Christmas book fan, I found that I was drawn to Jingle Spells as if by magic. It was as though I was under a spell, to ensure that I read this, as I very rarely read anything with witches, although I am a believer in magic.
What I hadn't realised was that this was the second book in a series, and only really had half an inkling while I was reading that it might be in a series, so I'd say it definitely works as a standalone and I absolutely loved the world building of Oak Haven.
It especially works as Jasper who is a non magical being, ie a human, stumbles across Oak Haven, and as things are explained to him, it means anyone new to this author and this series, will learn all the key information in a nice simple to understand way.
And I loved how he was drawn to Delilah, with both of them fairly set in their ways, and Delilah only being back in Oak Haven, as her home is under threat.
I loved that the witches enemies are in fact magicians, and I loved learning about the differences between the two, and all the backstory was fascinating to me.
It did take me a while to be fully engrossed in this story, but once I got to a certain point, it not only was practically unputdownable, and I was oblivious to where I was on the tube journey, but even after I finished the book, the characters were still on my mind a few days later.
I think its safe to say that I definitely am keen to read the next book in this series, as I am loving Delilah and her sisters and am keen to see what happens next in Oak Haven.
I could picture everything so clearly, and seeing how this town of witches at determined to celebrate the various holidays including Christmas and Saturnalia, despite their very existence being threatened was impressive.
This was a truly magical book and I think the author definitely put a jingle spell on me, given how enchanted I was by this story.
Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Jingle Spells is such a cozy read! Set in a picturesque town in New England, Oak Haven is the home of the Melrose sisters and full of witches (except the men, they don’t have magical abilities and cannot leave the town with forgetting it & its residents completely). When county archivist Jasper receives a mysterious application for a liquor license at a non existent address he sets off to find out where it could possibly be. Delilah Melrose has been avoiding her home town for the last year, but she is called home when magicians threaten the town. Although they surely can’t make it work, Delilah & Jasper have a serious spark and together they set out to save the town, all with the backdrop of the Christmas season.
Perfect for lovers of Kate Johnson’s Hex series, grab a hot chocolate & snuggle down for this cute romance.

I am a sucker for a Christmas story (even in October)- add some magic into that and you've got the perfect festive read.
This is a book that made me wish it was already December and that I was curled up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate. The opposites attract trope is one of my favourites and the chemistry between Delilah and Jasper was perfect with banter and tension.
I would highly recommend.

Another cosy book that I enjoyed so much!! And whilst it may be set at Christmas time, that's really only the backdrop and so I do feel that it can be ready before December if that aspect puts you off.
As I say, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Wonderfully cosy, a great storyline that was filled with drama, magic and romance! I thought the ending was fantastic and I finished it with a smile on my face. Certainly one I will be recommending over the next couple of months!
Cozy, witchy easy read! I enjoyed this! Such a great book to cuddle up with and get in the holiday mood! Gave me Hallmark vibes!

4.5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book, it’s cosy and witchy and fun and emotional at times but not too much! A little bit of comedy, romance and family dynamics brings this whole story to life..
The adventures of the Melrose sisters is my new favourite trope and I will have to go back read everything else that this author has written now.
The ending left me wanting, no, needing more! I really hope we find out what happens next.
Thanks Netgalley and the author for this arc
The perfect bridge between Halloween and Christmas- a festive romance with a whole quaint town of witches!
Whilst I enjoyed the romance element of this story I actually loved the family and the quirky characters of the town the most.
A fun and feel good festive fantasy!

It's time to return to Oak Haven, this time for Delilah's story!
Neither Jasper nor Delilah are fans of Christmas, but both are forced to deal with all the decorations, spirit, and hoopla that comes along with the holiday season when they meet in Oak Haven and need to work together, along with other Oak Haven residents, to save the magical town. Of course, it doesn't help that there is a spell on the town that means when non-residents leave, they forget everything the time they spent in Oak Haven, so as Delilah and Jasper explore their growing romantic feelings for one another, it comes with the knowledge that Jasper will forget it all when he leaves.
Amidst the magic and mystery of the book is a woman - Delilah - dealing with the very real emotions of grief and loss, and disliking the Christmas holidays because of how much her dad loved them. The series, itself, I'm finding, is about how three sisters, growing up with the same parents, in the same house, but with different personalities, each processes the loss of their dad in very different ways. It's handled with sensitivity, no easy or clear solutions, and, for me, a reminder that the grief never really goes away, it just changes with time.
The ending of the book was a bit of a surprise for me and makes me very intrigued for book three in the series so we can learn more about how Delilah and Jasper continue their relationship.
All in all, a fun, witchy Christmas book!

Absolutely adorable!
I loved that this really felt original, books are full of ‘Christmas magic’ but the fact this literally had a witch in it was wonderful.
I loved the sisters and their relationship, the perfect setting of the town, it all just got me in the mood for Christmas!

I found myself kicking my heels and giggling while reading the romance between the two leads. It was love at first sight which I'm not normally a fan of, but it seemed to work in this setting somehow. I love Jasper. We stan a nerd who is so confident and secure in himself that he isn't insecure or intimated by a powerful woman. Indeed, the fact Del was so powerful was an attraction to him, and he adored her from the start. While still fighting for her, but in his own nerdy way, he was such a refreshing change of a main male character.
There was a lot to the story as well, evil magicians, mysteries about the founding of the town, some truly great if improbable one liners - Jasper darling, you were way too chill about everything.
However I had some serious issues with some of the ethnical reasoning going on. The whole memory loss spell, the concept of Ep and the way almost everyone was cool with it. As the story progressed, Del was forced to confront some of her own, past behaviour, when she didn't think about how violating the spell actually was, but by the end of it no lessons in that regard had been learnt. Which left a sour taste in my mouth and lowered the rating a bit. I also wasn't really keen on the ending, it was too open and again, after everything that had happened, I struggled to accept it was the happy ending either deserved. Because they deserved more. And why throw in that hint about the memory if you weren't going to use it?
All in all however, this was a wonderful pallet cleanser and made me ridiculously happy while squeezing my heart at all the right points. Hopefully the third book in the series will solve those few nagging issues.

This was super cute and definitely got me in the mood for the holiday season! The magic and setup for the town were really inventive and unique. I also liked the chemistry between the main characters. There was A LOT going on in this book, and I occasionally got lost in all the nuances and characters - but that was definitely not a deterrent for me continuing!
If you're looking for a cute, holiday romance, this is fun read!

Emily Grimoire has done it again! This was a delightful read from start to finish! The plot was well-paced and the characters were charming and witty. This is definitely one I'll read again! Many thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the advanced copy of the book
Jingle Spells by Emily Grimoire is a charming and whimsical holiday read that blends small town coziness with a touch of witchy magic. Oak Haven might look like the picture perfect Christmas village but beneath the twinkling lights and snow dusted rooftops lies a secret world of witches, magicians, and spells gone awry.
Delilah Melrose and Jasper are both self proclaimed Scrooges, each nursing their own reasons for dreading the holidays. But when Jasper accidentally stumbles into Oak Haven, a magical town hidden from human eyes. Chaos ensues, forcing him and Delilah to work together to save the town before it’s lost to darkness.
I absolutely adored the setting and atmosphere! Festive, witchy, and full of heart. The story captured that perfect blend of holiday warmth and magical whimsy. I found Jasper and Delilah’s relationship sweet and endearing, and I was fully invested in their journey as they learned to open their hearts again. The themes of grief, healing, and rediscovering joy were beautifully woven throughout, giving this story emotional depth beneath all the holiday sparkle.
Even with moments of chaos (witches vs. magicians, anyone?), the book’s message shines through: family, forgiveness, and finding magic in unexpected places. It left me smiling and feeling all the cozy Christmas vibes.
Jingle Spells is the perfect read for anyone who loves festive small towns, a dash of magic, and heartwarming slow-burn romance. Fun, enchanting, and wonderfully unique! I couldn’t put it down!
Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the opportunity to read and review this delightful title.
There was so much to love about this book, the small town vibes, the witchy vibes, the Christmas vibes, all absolutely immaculate and I loved them.
I found Jasper and Delilah cute and endearing as a couple, I was definitely very invested in them and their relationship and I enjoyed the wider plot with the magicians versus witches. I just found the ending of this book a little less happy than I'd have ideally liked, I think maybe an extended epilogue or some view into the future would have helped it feel more optimistic. For me Christmas books need to leave me with the warm fuzzies, and this sort of did but it also has a slight question mark over them which slightly took away from my enjoyment at the end.

🔮 Bookish Thoughts ✨
This book was described as a mix between Charmed and Gilmore Girls, and it absolutely delivered. It had the witchy sisterhood of Charmed and the found family, cozy small town feeling of Stars Hollow.
I loved everyone in this book, but especially sweet Jasper. He was nerdy, lovable, and such a sweetheart. The ending had me worried there for a second, but it came through. I do wish we had gotten a bit more from the conclusion, but I still really enjoyed it.

Jingle Spells by Emily Grimoire is a cozy, festive fantasy full of magic, charm, and holiday cheer. The story follows whimsical characters navigating magical mishaps and heartwarming adventures, making it the perfect feel-good read for the season. Fun, enchanting, and lighthearted, it’s sure to put a smile on your face.
A wholesome witchy Christmas read, predictable but I enjoyed it! The instant love trope isn't my favourite but this was well done because it's paranormal it makes it more believable if that makes sense!
This story was great fun. Witches and Wizards and Christmas all mixed up together. A great storyline line with some memorable characters and an very enjoyable conclusion.

This was a fun festive witchy story,. A witchy town that looked like it loved Christmas but underneath the residents didn’t for their own different reasons. Jasper accidentally finds Oak Haven, but being human he wasn’t meant too….. Everthing goes wrong and Jasper and Delilah have to work together to fix everything..
A great festive rom com and enjoyed this.

An enjoyable festive story!
Picture this...cozy small town all decked out for the holidays, everyone happy and filled with cheer....right?
Wrong.
Our main characters are not at all Christmas people, and are in fact, bah humbugs. Separately, they have their reasons but when Jasper unwittingly finds Oak Haven, a witchy town not meant for human eyes, all hell breaks loose, and Delilah and Jasper need to work together to restore the town.
I wanted to love the banter and chemistry between Del and Jasper but it wasn't fully realized for me. I think it could have gone deeper and maybe been a little more slow burn/get to know each other better. It felt a bit forced.
I still thought it had enough elements for a witchy rom-com, especially with a holiday feeling, to enjoy the whole thing.

This was a super fun, easy read perfect for transitioning from spooky to festive season!
I really felt like I was there in Oak Haven with the witches and Jasper and enjoying uncovering the adventure alongside them.
I’m now hooked and need to go back to read the first one and can’t wait for the third!
This book gave off worst witch and Sabrina the teenage witch vibes with a little Christmas cheer!
Thank you to Net Galley and Avon UK for providing me with e-arc copy of this book.

Delilah meets Jasper when he wanders in to her home town, where nothing is as if seems,as all the women are with new protecting their town. Now they have a new threat so can they save the town? A fun read, I liked how it was told from both points of view.

A perfectly witchy dose of festive chaos and charm! ✨🎄
Jingle Spells is exactly the kind of book I want to curl up with on a cold December night — brimming with magic, mischief, and heart. Emily Grimoire captures the cosy, small-town energy of Gilmore Girls and mixes it with the sparkle of Charmed, crafting a world that’s impossible not to fall in love with.
Delilah is a delightfully grumpy heroine — independent, sharp, and determined to keep her distance from all things Christmas — until fate (and family) drag her right back into the chaos of Oak Haven. Jasper, the human who quite literally stumbles into her magical world, is her perfect foil: sceptical, charming, and just as resistant to holiday cheer. Together, they’re a recipe for slow-burn sparks and laugh-out-loud moments.
From singing snowmen to enchanted gnomes with questionable rhythm, Oak Haven bursts with quirky magic and genuine warmth. Beneath the humour and mayhem, Jingle Spells glows with themes of found family, forgiveness, and coming home to who you really are.
If you love your holiday reads cosy, witchy, and a little bit chaotic, this is pure festive comfort — a mug of cocoa in book form. ☕️💫
With thanks to Emily Grimoire, Avon Books UK, and NetGalley for the ARC.

A festive slice of fun, set in a world where magic is real, just hidden.
Del is the elder sister who has had enough. She was left behind to look after the family B&B and their grief-stricken mum when their dad died and the younger sisters scattered to deal with their grief. Now that Scarlett is back, Del has taken off with youngest sister Luna and is enjoying country (and bed) hopping around the world. But a harried message means a return to Oak Haven is on the cards.
Jasper is the local archivist and when he discovers a random document with an address that just doesn't exist, he takes off to investigate. But on entering town he's greeted by the locals. It would appear this is not his first visit to Oak Haven. So why doesn't he remember?
Once he realises that the town safety spell erases all memory of Oak Haven when he leaves, he endeavours to uncover his document mystery without leaving town and forgetting everything, including the delectable Delilah, who has got under his skin.
Although set at "Christmas" the witches are cheerfully pagan and accepting of all faiths, so their neighbours also incorporate their winter holidays into the festivities. I'd be driven daft with all the hullabaloo and décor this town puts up but they seem to love it. Del and Jasper are kind of opposites attract but they both have elements of the grump about them. I loved learning more about the feud between the witches and magicians.
I'm not a huge fan of the amnesia trope but it was used sparingly throughout the story, after all it's the only way to keep the town safe. I must admit I'm not in favour of the actions of the witch founders of Oak Haven, leaving the Salem women to their fate!
A great little read to get you in the mood for the festive season.
I'm so glad we get to go back to Oak Haven and that there is a third book on the way! I thoroughly enjoyed Impractical Magic and Jingle Spells is just as fun, well-paced, and entertaining as the first book.
While the first book focused on Scarlett, Jingle Spells follows Delilah as she returns to Oak Haven after travelling for a year. Unfortunately, she's back at her least favourite time of the year, Christmas. The magicians are also back and are once again trying to take over the town, triggering several disastrous events that Delilah and her sisters need to deal with.
Although this book is set at Christmas, it isn't a super Christmassy, Hallmark-style book, which is really refreshing. The adventure isn't totally Christmas themed, so even those who aren't fans of the season will definitely enjoy the witchy fun.
Written in dual POV, you get two interesting perspectives, and this keeps things moving nicely. It's also nice to get a perspective from outside the memory spell to get a better idea of how this works.
I really enjoyed the fact that the ending wasn't entirely happy and that we'll see more of what ends up happening in the third book. It added a bittersweet element that I really enjoyed.
If you like witchy romances with a cast of slightly odd characters, you can't go wrong with this series.
