Description
The next gripping domestic suspense novel from Jessie Garcia.
It's always sunny in Detroit for Faith Richards. The popular TV meteorologist, endearingly referred to as "The Fair Weather Friend" by her viewers, has the world by the tail. But one night, Faith leaves work on a dinner break and never returns. Her body is found the next morning.
The town is reeling, suspects emerge, and long-buried secrets are uncovered. While her allies rally, her list of adversaries also grows. Little does anyone know that only the deepest secrets will expose the truth.
In this riveting thriller from the author of THE BUSINESS TRIP, Jessie Garcia's signature multi-POV, rapid-fire style will propel you into the heart of a mystery no one could have forecasted.

Oh my gosh, this book was absolutely incredible! Jessie Garcia’s fast-paced thriller is a perfect blend of mystery and suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down! I’m officially a member of the Fair Weather Friend Fan Club!
Jessie Garcia does it again, pulling me into a story that is equal parts chilling and addictive. The Fair-Weather Friend begins with Faith Richards, Detroit’s beloved TV meteorologist, who seems to live her life in the sunshine. But the brightness doesn’t last long, one night she steps out on a dinner break and never returns. By morning, her body is discovered, and suddenly the entire city is cloaked in suspicion, secrets, and storm clouds no forecast could have predicted.
What I loved most about this book is the atmosphere Garcia builds. Beneath the glittering lights of the newsroom and the polished facade of Faith’s on-air persona, there’s a darkness simmering. Every character feels like they could be hiding something. Every chapter peels back another layer, revealing a tangle of jealousies, betrayals, and long buried grudges. I found myself questioning everyone, even the people closest to Faith.
The multiple POVs add a sharp, unsettling energy, like camera angles shifting in a thriller film. One moment you’re inside a grieving friend’s mind, the next inside someone who might be lying straight to your face. The tension is relentless, and the pacing kept me flipping pages long past midnight.
This isn’t just a murder mystery, it’s a story about the masks people wear, the secrets they guard, and the dangerous undercurrents that run beneath even the most picture perfect lives. Garcia has a way of reminding you that what you see on the surface is rarely the whole truth.
Dark, twisty, and utterly compulsive, The Fair-Weather Friend is domestic suspense at its most addictive. It left me unsettled, chilled, and still turning over the final reveals long after I closed the book.

I LOVED this book! From the second chapter on, I felt like everything I knew was wrong. Jessie Garcia did it again. First with The Business Trip and now with the Fair Weather Friend.

My Thoughts
Channel 9 weekday meteorologist Faith Richards is beloved by her many Detroit viewers.
As a matter of fact, she has her own fan club named after her closing slogan The Fair -Weather Friend.
Its members include people from all walks of life, many of whom have come to feel like Faith is family as she enters their home daily giving her forecasts multiple times a day.
Everywhere she goes Faith is recognized, her fame growing over time rather than diminishing.
Once a child’s dream now a reality you would think Faith has it all, the job, the money, the lifestyle.
All these things are what she wanted growing up but perspectives change when you realize the sacrifices that come with having to live your life in the public eye, and how much pressure you are under to perform daily with a smile on your face when you don’t feel like smiling.
Told from different people’s points of view the story examined behind the camera and took readers into why they were not all enamored of Faith Richards.
Secrets, deceptions, lies and a truth that I did not see coming ahead of time.
A who-done-it with an unexpected twist that worked well to resolve everything.

The Fair Weather Friend by Jessie Garcia is a fast paced thriller that will keep you guessing til the end.
Faith Richards is a beloved meteorologist in Detroit. She goes on a dinner break and never makes it back to work. She is then found. murdered. Most of the character s are not likable people and each could be a likely suspect.. This book is well written and kept me wanting to finish it in one sitting.
