Description
Perfect for fans of Sweetvalley High Twins and Ride On!
A new tween graphic novel by bestselling author Faith Erin Hicks.
Twin sisters Ash and Sloane are headed to animation camp -- where their courage, drive, and sisterly bond will be put to the test!
Twin sisters Sloane and Ash are two peas in a pod, and they do everything together: watch movies, attend classes, and most importantly, draw! So when the summer animation classes of their dreams are about to start, they can barely contain their excitement!
Well…Ash is excited but Sloane is surprised to find she isn’t as jubilant about it, which makes no sense, since she loves art. Meanwhile, Ash discovers that just because you love something, doesn’t mean you’ll automatically be good at it, and she struggles under the weight of her own expectations and those of her teacher’s. Soon, the trials of challenging classwork and new friendships drive a wedge between the twins. Can their bond survive the summer?

Inbetweens tells the story of twin girls who go to a summer animation camp at a local college.
This story had beautiful graphics which allowed me to really dive into the twin adventure. It had a great found friend group that really allowed each character to shine.
I loved this graphic novel.

I am already a fan of Faith Erin Hicks and this graphic novel did not disappoint. Set in what I'm assuming feels like the 90's/early 2000's we follow the story of twins who love drawing and want to be animators on their journey at an intensive animation camp. I love how it shows that as we grow up, our thoughts and ideas about our future change. We don't always have to stick to the plan that we've had since we were young. I also enjoy how it shows how our heroes aren't always what they're cracked up to be and that they can disappoint us. Also enjoyed the nods to Studio Ghibli.
If you love stories about family, animation and drawing, growing up with sprinkles of nods to Studio Ghibli and the 90's/early 2000's, this is the graphic novel for you.
