As leader of a special military unit charged with stopping potential pandemics before they spread, Haggerty has a front-row seat for the sharp increase in natural disasters that precede the Rapture--including plagues, earthquakes, famines, wars, and rumors of war. And each crisis is becoming more intense.
Meanwhile, his own world feels like it's falling apart. He's still caught in the grief of messing up his relationship with his ex-wife, and he's trying to keep it together so that he can show up for his adult daughter before she wants him out of her life entirely. The escalating crises around the world create tension at work. As both personal and professional situations push him to the brink, Haggs finds himself stretched further than he ever has in his desire to be the kind of good person he knows he should be.
Just when it seems as if things might turn around, Haggerty is forced to decide between his need to find solutions and his need for personal redemption.

I grew up reading a book series on the Rapture and the end times. When I cam across vanished by Dr David Jeremiah and Sam O'Neal I just had to read it. It really didn't disappoint. Some similarities to the other series Ive read but it was different overall and was very enjoyable. I enjoyed that the book started way before the Rapture talking about the build up of events that lead up to the Vanishing. I really liked getting to know the characters before the crisis happened to the World.

A compelling and clear explanation of end-times prophecy through a gripping fictional lens. The audiobook brings urgency and insight to biblical truths, making complex topics accessible and engaging. Dr. Jeremiah delivers both suspense and spiritual depth — a must-listen for fans of faith-based fiction with a prophetic edge. He always gets 5 stars from me. I can not find a single complaint about any of his amazing books

Apocalyptic Chaos Meets Personal Redemption in This Gripping Faith-Fueled Thriller
I’ve been watching and waiting for Christ’s second coming, so this was a timely read. Vanished by Dr. David Jeremiah is a high-stakes, end-times thriller that hits on both a global and personal level. John “Haggs” Haggerty leads a military unit tasked with stopping pandemics before they spread—but as disasters pile up, it’s clear the world is heading toward something far more cataclysmic. Plagues, earthquakes, wars… the signs are everywhere.
But Haggs’s real battle is closer to home. He’s grieving the collapse of his marriage and struggling to stay connected to his adult daughter. The emotional weight he carries makes his fight for redemption feel real and relatable. Jeremiah blends action with heart, and the spiritual thread running through the story gives it depth without slowing the pace.
If you’re a fan of Left Behind but crave a fresher voice and tighter pacing, Vanished is your next read. This book is a reminder that prophecy isn’t just about world events—it’s also about the state of our hearts. Fast, thoughtful, and faith-anchored, it’s a must-read for anyone drawn to stories about the end times and the hope that remains. The audiobook is well-narrated by Roger Wayne.

Audiobook Review: Vanished by Dr. David Jeremiah
ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I had the pleasure of listening to Vanished by Dr. David Jeremiah, a fictional exploration of biblical prophecy. The story captivated me with its intriguing plot twists and compelling narrative.
While most of the dialogue kept me engaged, there were a few moments where it felt somewhat unnatural. However, this was a minor issue compared to the overall depth and richness of the story.
The audiobook itself was skillfully narrated by Roger Wayne, whose voice perfectly suited the main character and the tone of the book. His performance truly brought the story to life, and I hope he continues as the narrator for future installments in this series.
In terms of content, Vanished is suitable for a wide range of listeners, though some parts may be intense for younger children. Overall, it’s an engaging experience, and I’m eagerly anticipating the next book in the series!

Vanished
Dr. David Jeremiah with Same O’Neal
Covid wasn’t the first pandemic. In the 1800s there was cholera, the flue, and the Russian flu. In the 1900s cholera once again raised its ugly head. Then came the Spanish flu (50-100 million deaths), Ebola (15,000 deaths), Asian flu (2 million deaths) and the Hong Kong flu (2 million deaths.) By 1961 the world was facing the seventh outbreak of cholera ; (900,000 people have died from cholera). In the 2000s it was HIV/AIDS, (33 million died up to 2022), SARS (774 have died), Swine flu (0.1-1.9 million), MERS (935 deaths) and Covid-19 (27 million deaths,)ji9iowere next. In 2020 we faced a pandemic.
John “Haggs” Haggerty was a man known to take charge and get the job done. He was the leader of a special military unit whose focus was to stop possible threats before they spread out of control. He noticed the rise in natural disasters. Scripture says before the rapture there will be an increase in diseases, tremors, food shortages, hostilities, and reports of fighting. Each incident is escalating.
Hagg’s was mourning the loss of his ex-wife. He knows he messed up but doesn’t know what to do about it. His life as a military physician hasn’t be healthy for his marriage or his children. His career has always been his priority. The death of his young son destroyed his marriage. He was at his wits end the pressure from work and his family life is destroying him. He was attempting to draw closer to his adult daughter. He need an interpreter for his assignment in Italy; he ask his daughter to take the position it was an opportunity to grow closer to him.
Haggs is a good man he cares about people and truly wants to help them, but does he know Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
Author Dr. David Jeremiah is a dynamic speaker and writer. I am eager to listen to him in September at the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge. I hope to meet him, but I doubt I manage to get that close to him. While Dr. Jeremiah has written many books but this is his first attempt at fictional book. I enjoyed reading this tale. The characters are well done. It was interesting watching Haggs interact with his daughter. This book leaves readers eagerly awaiting the next book in this series. The reader should be aware this is Christian fiction. The focus is on the rapture/end times.

I was completely drawn into the world of John Haggerty. This book was surprisingly good. It is end times/apocalyptic themed with (not really a spoiler based on the title alone) a pre-tribulation rapture so if you can't stomach that eschatology, you may not like the book. I think the book is enjoyable even if you're not dispensational in your beliefs. The narration was well done.

Vanished by Dr. David Jeremiah with Sam O'Neal is a fast paced thriller that leaves you wanting more! I enjoyed the way they set the stage and helped you to be invested in the characters before the "Vanishing" happened. Then went into details about what would be going through their minds after. It was really well done! It was perfectly narrated. I would definitely recommend Vanished! Looking forward to reading more in the series as it comes out!
