Description

The Otero County Disclosure is at once an intelligent and thought-provoking book of big ideas and, bigger questions and, a genre-bending thrill ride reflecting the world we inhabit, in a century of chaos, discovery and change.

Themes explored include privacy, knowledge 'ownership', identity and consciousness.

The present day: a seventeen-year-old, disabled British schoolgirl is fitted with a new talking technology and starts to communicate wild ideas with the few people she’s close to… and a powerful and secretive group she doesn’t know exists.

Does Alexa Moore hold the key to mankind’s understanding of the Cosmos? The truth about UFOs, life after death, and our existence beyond material reality? But where do her ideas come from?

Most people turn a blind eye. Her widowed dad, Norman, included. He’s starting to question his job working on a strange program, faraway in the Arizona desert. A place of secrets and crazy conspiracies. His employer, a once great aerospace firm, is going for broke; the launch of a new technology it hopes will change the company’s fortunes. An ‘exotic’ material so under wraps most colleagues know nothing about it.

Is everything connected? Perhaps there is no such thing as coincidence.

As Alexa and Norman come to understand, if knowledge truly is power, some will do anything to have it.

The Otero County Disclosure is at once an intelligent and thought-provoking book of big ideas and, bigger questions and, a genre-bending thrill ride reflecting the world we inhabit, in a century of...

Thank you for the digital advance reader copy of The Otero County Disclosure. This sci-fi story is excellent especially when considering it is the author’s first published title. Huey Hawke, great story!
The Otero County Disclosure touches on both the value and the drawbacks of assistive AI. The assistive AI in the story allows Alexa, nicknamed Ex, to communicate freely and engage in deep intellectual discussions verbally. Without the technology, her quadriplegia prevents her from communicating freely.
The Otero County Disclosure also explores the concepts of UFO sightings as well as whether consciousness is part of or merely tethered to a physical body.
I recommend this title to sci-fi lovers interested in staying on earth and in the here and now.
