Dillon Sheenan returned home to run the family ranch and nurse his dying father three years ago but now he’s been asked to rejuvenate the firm he co-founded and he’s planning on going back to Austin, Texas, to do just that. He leaves on Tuesday. For all the time he’s been back he’s admired single Mum, Page Joffe, but he’s never acted on his attraction to her . . . . until now. One date, one explosive kiss, but what does the future hold for them? He’s never wanted to be tied down and certainly never wanted children. She loves her children and has never had a one-night stand or indeed any relationship with a man since her husband died in an a accident four years ago. Should they give in to temptation or steer well clear of each other? Can they both resist their mutual attraction?

This story is set in Marietta, Montana, with lots of people and places that are now becoming familiar as I read more of these books. I really enjoy how the different authors maintain the characters and places through their individual books and stories - superb teamwork bringing to life living in this small town. Whilst this story is part of the Taming of the Sheenans series, it also has content relating to the Bachelor Auction series, too, linking both series seamlessly.

I really enjoyed reading this story with all the pressures both main characters are experiencing being brought to life by the author in a manner that makes it so easy to escape into the story and empathise with their various dilemmas. I really appreciate that this story is not, in any way shape or form, an erotica novel - the author writes a brilliant story which is throughly enjoyable and I enjoyed this additional opportunity to escape to Marietta and find out what is happening to the people there. Having said that, I believe this book would work well as a standalone - but it could also entice readers to explore other books in both series, too! Highly recommended.

Thanks to the author, publishers and NetGalley, too,

Another great book by Jane Porter! A great continuation of the Sheenans but it can be read as a stand alone.

Completely captivating story. Widowed mom, Paige Joffee, is struggling to keep her head above water. Two kids, an old creaky house, and a business to run leaves little time for Paige to enjoy herself. Dillon Sheehan has been back in Marietta for 3 years. Now that his brother is back to take over the ranch he is no longer tied to the place and plans to leave in just a few short days. Neither would ever guess what their chance meeting and immediate attraction would do to their futures. You will definitely want to grab this one and enjoy this heartwarming story. I highly recommend it.

Dillion is the type of man that thinks he can do what is best for everyone including himself. Paige is a single mother trying to do the best she can. They have a chemistry between them but Dillion is trying to deny it. He doesn't think he is the right man for her. Will they get together or will he keep himself away thinking it's for the best?

What a sweet story. I will be sure to look for more of Jane's books. I am a true fan!

I adored Paige and Dillon’s story. Dillon is the youngest son, the one who came home to care for his father during that life ending illness. The one who has his company torn out from under him as he was forced to make the choice of family or company – of course family won out. He is also the man who has had a huge crush on the widow Paige for the last three years. Something that he’d never acted on and shouldn’t now since he was heading out of Marietta at long last to try to save his company which floundered without him at the helm. He steered clear of single mommas. He knew that he wasn’t cut out for the daddy thing, not now, not ever. With his own father as a prime example of what a dad shouldn’t be – Dillon was convinced that the only path for him was to avoid Paige at all costs, including his heart.

When Paige sat down next to Dillon at Grey’s bar, she knew he was more than slightly buzzed since he was definitely flirting with her. And she, despite being a single mom with a lot of responsibilities on her plate was so tempted to flirt back. She settled for some enlightening conversation, and left with Dillon definitely on her mind.

The Taming of the Bachelor is such a sweet, charming, engaging story. One moment you’ll be in laughter over some of Dillon’s antics or in tears of frustration at Paige’s difficult path of trying so hard to not fall for Dillon. The moment Dillon stands up for Tyler, Paige’s son, you know that he is hooked forever – it will just take him a frustratingly long time to discover that. Which is fine, since we get an intense love story with tons of feels on just about every page. You can’t help it – these are two people who so obviously belong together. But between their own self-doubts and some friends and townsfolk sticking their noses in where it doesn’t belong – you begin to think that happy ever after isn’t going to happen this time. But then you’d be wrong because the heart will always win in the end.

I would recommend this delightful tale of love hard won to anyone at all. If you enjoy a love story that will grab you and not let go til the last page – then this one is for you. Pick it up, sit back and enjoy.

I've been waiting for Dillon Sheenan's story and was looking forward to reading The Taming of the Bachelor. I liked Paige and Dillon. The more I read, the more I wanted to see how their relationship was going to develop.

Porter delivers to her readers a sweet, enjoyable romance that will keep the Sheenans at the top of your favorite Marietta families.

I have been waiting for Dillon's story and I have to say it was worth the wait. Dillon is the youngest son who had returned home to take care of his father when he was ill. He was forced out of the company he built and has a one way ticket out of town so he could return to that company to try to put it back on top. Dillon is business minded and he just plain doesn't believe in love or have time for it. He has had a huge crush on Paige for the past three years...but she is a single mother and a widow so she is off limits. Dillon is more the one night stand, no commitment kind of guy. This is such a well written book. The characters are believable and the story line is believable and well paced. Jane Porter knows how to write so that you can feel and understand the emotions of the characters. I loved Dillon and Paige....this is a sweet, charming, engaging story and I highly recommend it.

I’ve always liked reading Jane Porter and her charming love stories. They are sweet, emotional, fun – all ingredients that make them worthy reads.

Sexy and nerdy Dillon Sheenan and the pretty and widow Paige Doffe make an ultra sweet couple as they explore the sparks of attraction that defies age. Dillon always had a sweet spot for Paige, yet kept his distance due to the age difference and her marriage. But now the field is open, yet he hesitates, as he’s ready to leave Marietta for good.

The responsibilities of being a single mom and keeping her diner going, leaves no time for anything, no matter how tempting Dillon makes it. Yet she cannot deny her attraction for him or keep from losing her heart to him. Paige is just a wonderful person, working hard, kind and never pushes Dillon or expects anything in life, but is grateful for what she has and nothing more and nothing less.

The Taming Of The Bachelor will give you the laughs with the tears, the pain with the love, the insecurities with new chances and a couple that realize they are meant to be together.

The Taming of the Bachelor is the fourth book of the Taming of the Sheenans series. I didn't read the first three books, so I took that in consideration in my review. I personally gave it a 3 stars review, but I really think that it would have deceived a 4 stars review with the background of the first three books.

This is the story of Dillon Shennan and Paige Joffe. I really liked them both. The reason I don't give the book a 5 stars rating is a purely personal preference. I have trouble getting into a book with two persons falling in love so quickly. It's still a great book with lovable characters, principal and secondary.

Sometimes, love is all about timing. Sometimes, timing gets in the way. In this story, Paige and Dillon must figure out if they can go the distance for love, ignore all the obstacles and excuses, and let love, and their hearts fulfill their destiny. It's a long road, and each must concede a little, but in the end, it's worth it. Love wins! A family is formed. And, that makes a fabulous romance!

This is a fabulous and well-written story of a slow burning love, kindled with grit and determination, flaring into the love of a lifetime!

I was provided a copy by the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion!

Jane Porter is one of my favorite authors and I never pass up the opportunity to read her latest book. The Taming of the Bachelor is an engrossing story that I could not put down. The two main characters are likeable, complex and real. This is a meaningful and impassioned romance that I enjoyed very much.

This is the love story between Paige Joffe and Dillon Sheenan. Paige is single, widowed and owns the local diner. She has two young children and lives in an old Victorian house that needs some work. Paige is superwoman, as she juggles her responsibilities with care, love and perseverance. She would love to be in a relationship, but she will settle for an evening of passion with Dillon, even though she knows that even one time together will break her heart.

Dillon never wanted to return to Marietta, Montana, but due to circumstances beyond his control, he had no choice but to come home and run his family's ranch. After three long years, he is finally able to go back to Texas and take over Tutro, the bioengineering firm he founded. He has always felt something for Paige, but until recently, never did anything about it. Dillon wants to make Tutro a success once again, and resume his lavish lifestyle, just without any baggage. He claims he is not the marrying kind.

This is a sweet love story with an interesting plot and well-defined characters. Ms. Porter's writing style continues to be smooth and easy to read. I felt the connection between Paige and Dillon immediately and truly enjoyed watching them dance around their attraction for one another. Their sexual tension is very hot. The ending is terrific and I still smile from ear to ear whenever I think about this book.

(This review is based on ARC e-book provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest, unbiased opinion. It will be posted on Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes & Noble.)
An enjoyable but mostly predictable Montana small town romance featuring an “on and off again” love connection between Dillon Sheenan, who has no interest in marriage or raising a family, and Paige Joffe, local diner owner and widow with two young children. Dillon, the youngest Sheenan brother, is just days away from cutting ties to the family ranch/hometown and returning to the corporate world in Texas. His only regret is the attraction/pull he has always felt towards Paige. She, in turn, begins to realize how much she would like him to be a part of her family’s life.
If you read the author’s book synopsis, you pretty much get the whole storyline. What is missing is the witty banter, chemistry, and emotional drama of this couple as they try to determine if they could have a future together. Though Dillion was upfront he was not marriage material and wanted to leave, his actions often spoke differently. The “yo-yo” effect was frustrating at times, with Paige, in my opinion, taking the brunt of this angst-filled relationship. By the end, I definitely started to feel sorry for her. In fact, I would have liked to have seen more groveling by Dillon to make up for it. Found myself wanting her to be seen on dates by Dillon or at least told she may have moved on. As I did enjoy the author’s writing story and am intrigued by the secondary characters, I am interested in reading the complete series. Jane Porter has caught my attention, and I hope to read more of her books.

I loved this story. It resonated with me so deeply, cause sometimes life is about broken plumbing, furnace that isn't working, people might have disappointed us, work is not going the way we want, and we take on a responsibility that we are not so excited about. Life is hard work, battle, and struggles. And we lose our faith, and it is hard to see God and hope in the midst of all the effort everyday life takes.
That's what Paige and Dillon are struggling with, that and the attraction towards each other. And the way Dillon pined after Paige for three years, is rather adorable. And the guts Paige has, to go after what she wanted, is so admirable. Their journey is real, raw, and heartbreaking at times. But there is also humor, joy, laughter, and moments of pure pleasure and passion. And even though life is a hard road, as long as you show up, are present and show love, it is enough. You don't have to be perfect, just forgiving and loving. As you can see, I am so inspired by this story. There are deep feelings, fear of failure, rejection, but also admiration, adoration, love, success, and harmony. Sometimes we are so afraid to fail, not be perfect, like Dillon as a father, that we don't see the great job we are already doing in that role. The connection Dillon had with Paige's kids is heart melting. This love story is beautiful, life like, real, and honest. The characters are strong, genuine, and true. At the end of my notes I had written 'love, joy, hope, faith', because this story is filled with all that

The Taming of the Bachelor is book #4 in the Taming of the Sheenans series and it was a great additon to one of my fave series by Jane orter.

Dillon Sheenan is counting down the days until he'll leave Marietta, Montana and go back to Austin to try and save his company.

Dillon had enough of small town life and he has no plans of getting married anytime soon and he's certainly not interested in being a dad so the last thing he needs is getting involved with sexy single mom Paige Joffe.

Paige moved to Marietta after losing her husband in a climbing accident in order to be close to his parents and she juggles a lot, between running Main Street Diner and coping with her money-pit of a Victorian on Bramble Lane.

She doesn’t have time for anything but taking care of the loves of her life, Addison and Tyler, and working to pay down bills.

Going on a date with Dillon should be the last thing on her mind first since he's a lot younger than her and second since he's leaving town in a few days but as much as Paige is trying to keep her distance from Dillon she can't say no and they end u spending time together before he leaves town.

Dillon is trying to do the honorable thing and kee his distance from Paige since she has 2 kids and he doesn't want to be a dad but also because he's leaving town to move to Austin but the chemistry between them is too strong and he find himself spending as much time as he can with Paige .

Can Paige and Dillon have a future together?

I enjoyed reading The Taming of the Bachelor,
the hero Dillon didn't have an easy childhood growing up and he didn't have a good role model for a father so he decided many years ago that he shouldn't have kids of his own and that is the main reason he kept his distance from Paige for many years.

Paige lost her husband in a climbing accident 5 years ago and she spends all her free time with her kids.

She didn't go on any dates since her husband died but she is very attracted to Dillon and she wants to have some fun and have a one night stand with him but she soon find out that she has strong feelings for Dillon and he could break her heart.

The Taming of the Bachelor is a very emotional book, it was funny, sexy and I really enjoyed reading it.

I just love how so many different authors can pull together and write so many interesting books with characters who are introduced in a different story, perhaps even by a different author, and yet all center on the mythical community of Marietta, Montana. For those who have come to love the charm and magic of a Marietta romance, you will want to read this book as well.

Dillon Sheenan is a sworn bachelor with an absolute commitment never to be a parent, who returned to Marietta three years ago to run the family ranch, and care for his father who was dying of cancer. His father passed away, his brothers all seem to have their life in order, and it is now time for Dillon to return to the big city and try and rescue the company he started, which took a turn for the worse when he left for Marietta. The only person he will miss much is the one woman he couldn’t have – Paige, a widow with two young children, and his sister in-law’s best friend. They had become casual friends during their time together in Marietta, and she had captured his heart from day one, but she was off limits.

Paige experiences some long-dormant feelings when Dillon is near. She shouldn’t want him – he is nearly 8 years her junior, and leaving town in a few days. Yet, she wants him. And when a slice of pie turns into a passionate kiss, she invites him to her home to stay the night. While initially agreeable, Dillon’s conscience gets the best of him and calls a stop before something happens that she will regret. Paige is hurt and embarrassed, but determined to move on.

The story takes a few twists and turns from there, but I don’t want to ruin the ride for anyone else. I very much enjoyed this book. The romance part was sweet, and I have to say that my heart was as involved in the sad parts of the story as much as it was in the happy. It was a short and easy read – I finished it in one sitting (although yes, I did blow off making dinner in order to do so!).

Thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC, from which this review is based, in exchange for an honest review.

This book will leave you smiling well after the book has ended. What's not to love the Sheenans and Marietta Montana. Dillon had returned to Marietta when his father's health was deteriorating three years ago, but now it is time to return to Austin Texas for his job. Paige, is a single mom and owner of the local diner. Dillon is not looking to get involved with a single mom, that is one thing he does not want is children. Things don't always turn out the way you have your life planned. Let you heart lead the way!

I so loved these two characters. Paige was so strong, and did not like asking for help or depending on other people. Dillon has a bigger heart for family that he even knew.

I highly recommend this story of Dillon and Paige. I received this book from netgalley for an honest review.

This worked so well. It didn't fall into the insta-love syndrome because these twoo knew each other, had feelings but both never acted on them. I loved it made the story continue through the challenges...long distance and career questions. Wonderful.

This was my first book in this series and it is the perfect story to make you believe in love again. Dillon and Paige were well developed characters and I adored every moment of this book. I'm intrigued to read the rest of this series as I really enjoyed Porters writing style.

Sexy thirty-year-old Dillon Sheenan is ready to return to city life after putting his career on hold to handle family business. With a short amount of time before he leaves town, he tries his best to stay away from the beautiful but very single mom, Paige Joffe.

Paige Joffe's life is out of control; her home is a money pit, her staff for her diner is always calling out, her husband has passed away and last but not least she finds Dillon hot and sexy.

So what's holding them back? Dillon.... he does not want to be "that guy", the one that plays with her emotions and hits the road. Can Paige help Dillon see that she is a woman who knows what she wants or will he run too fast and too far to even find out? Read it people..you gotta read and find out!

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.

Honestly I don't know who is signing these authors up at Tule Publishing, but they need a raise. Tule publishing is doing a great job getting authors that know how to put a book together.

Jane Porter did a great job with this book. As a single mother I completely related with Paige and her feelings and the overall struggle she dealt with on a daily basis. I related with her so much that I found myself kind of wanting to slap Dillon and say 'give the lady what she wants and stop all this back and forth confusion'.But what can you do but accept that Dillon is a great guy; who understands the importance of respecting a lady.

I don't know if you can tell but I could go on and on about this book. This book right now is selling for 3.99 on amazon and I think that is a great price. If you want to laugh, cry and fall in love with a new author than this is the book for you!

The Taming of the Bachelor by Jane Porter is a sweet, behind closed doors romance. Dillon and Paige are believable characters with depth. It is more sweet than steamy, but it is a short book that can be read in just a couple of hours.

Young and brilliant Dillon is attracted to single mom, Paige. He is not staying in town and he thinks it’s in Paige’s best interest for him to stay away. Can he? Or is the attraction too strong? Can he be with someone who has children? These are all relevant questions that Jane Porter brings to the forefront of this contemporary romance.

We watch as Dillon and Paige struggle with their decisions. There is a bit of angst and a lot of small town romance woven into this quick read.

This was a cute read of two people trying to find themselves, she's trying to sat above water with her life and being a single mom and he's trying to leave town and forget about marriage and babies . With the time they spend toghpther the more their feelings start to show can she show him what his life could be like if he stayed, how love can conquere it all? Or will they be kissed to the love that the two of them share

In the book’s dedication Jane Porter thanks Megan Crane for reminding her that she is still a writer. I want to thank Megan Crane too for encouraging Jane Porter to continue writing. I love my visits to Marietta, Montana with Jane Porter’s books becoming favorites. The Taming of the Bachelor is the youngest Sheenan, Dillon’s story. Even though he has made small appearances in other Marietta’s stories, it isn’t until this one that he is truly fleshed out as the wonderful but oh, so very stubborn man that he is. That seems like a small thing but nearly cost him a life filled with love. However, I like how he intellectually gifted but is not afraid to get his hands dirty on the ranch. Also his loyalty to his father is astonishing but believable, so is the fact that his brothers let him do it.

Paige Joffe is just as strong a character as Dillon. I liked that the author did not try to stick him with a clinging needy kind of woman. Paige is stubborn but capable so that fuels the amazing attraction between these two. I just loved Tyler and Addison, Paige’s children. I sort of knew Dillon would have a difficult time walking away from this family no matter what he thought.

I thought the ending to be perfect. If I felt anything was missing, it would be more concerning the bullying by Sam, III. Perhaps his father, Sam, Jr. needs some help in his life since Little Sam definitely does. I’m hoping they will someday get a story too.

One that I could not put down. Dillon Sheenan came home Marietta to take care of his sick father and the family ranch, giving up his career and his company. Now, the company is begging him to come back and fix things, and the ranch is in good hands now that his brother is home. Dillon just needs to wrap things up and head back to Austin. He just couldn't help telling his long-time crush how he felt.
Paige Joffe is a widow with two children. A California girl, she moved to Marietta to give her children a chance to know their Grandparents. She is struggling to be a good mom, run her diner, and keep their old Victorian from falling in on them. She isn't looking for a man or romance, especially not a younger guy like Dillon.
Dillon never wanted to get married or have kids, and he never planned to get involved with a Mom, especially now that he is leaving town. Best laid plans never work, and as Dillon spends more time with Paige and her kids, the more he likes them. He just needs to figure out if he is in for the long haul.
I love the Sheenan brothers. Each brings his own personality to the table and it takes a strong woman to tame them. Jane Porter has done a wonderful job writing two strong, flawed and believable characters. The story grabs you and pulls you in, and when you hit the end, you are still looking for more. I loved the return to Marietta and the visit with old friends and look forward, impatiently, to the next visit!

Dillon Sheenan was finally free! Free to do what he wanted, to go where he pleased, to see the ladies who made her happy. His older brother Trey was back, so he let him take the responsibility at the Sheenan ranch. But when he saw Paige Joffe instead, his mind reeled, his stomach churned, his heart beat erratically.

What was with this single mother that got his interest and kept him awake at night? Surely he could do better with all the women that usually flocked him. But Paige was different. There's something in her that seemed to make him act responsibly, dream like a teenage boy, and think wild, feral, untamed.

So what if Paige was almost 10 years older than him? So what if she already had adorable kids that keep her busy all day and night? So what if he had a new offer from his old company in Texas? Yes, that's the problem. He couldn't just fall for her because he already got his priorities set. And he refused to bow down to his family again and abandon his dream. So what if he and Paige won't have their happy ever after?

I'm really a sucker for romantic stories. Once again, I got this giddy feeling whenever I finish a Jane Porter novel. The last book I read from her was The Kidnapped Christmas Bride (Trey's story) and I was floored. I thought Trey was he best Sheenan brother. When I finally read Dillon's, I was mistaken. I didn't think he'd be as charming as his older brothers were. Maybe because he's got the ranch-boy charm that I was looking for and Paige was able to make a better man out of him.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Taming of The Bachelor and I wish to read more from Jane Porter!

Paige is enjoying her life with her kids in Marietta as someone who only have been here for a few years she was hoping this move was a wise choice. The only thing not going right is her house it seems like nothing wants to stay together and she just needed a break and was ready for a girls night out with her closest friends. Dillion is ready to break free he is just ready to get out of Marietta, he has one thing stopping him kind of. He is getting ready to leave in a few day when he finally runs into the crush he has had for the last 3 years and he so wishes he can act on it but something is holding him back and wonders once again what he is thinking. I really love Marietta Montana and to find my self there again with this book was no different. This book was a fun read and was hard to put down. I loved catching up with others from this series. The storyline was well written, the chemistry is through out the book from the beginning to the end. This book is well worth the read.

This is a sweet, clean romance. There was something about this book I really loved. I loved Dillon from the beginning. I sometimes wanted to slap him silly, but it was worth it in the end. I enjoyed the way the author forced both characters to talk through their issues. Paige was a sweet, if not shy person, who needed to be reminded that she was a woman, with normal needs.

A really good read.

Great read that has your heart aching for that HEA!!

Dillon Sheenan did what was right a few years ago and left his emerging company in order to go home to Montana and run his family's ranch while his father was ill. One of his brothers has stepped up to take over the ranch now, so Dillon is excited to be able to go back to Texas, where he intends to salvage what is left of his company. Paige Joffe is a woman he's greatly admired, and he is determined not to get attached to her right before he leaves. Aside from his move, he doesn't want to be a family man. As Dillon and Paige realize the other is just as strongly attracted, and as their feelings grow, they have to re-evaluate the direction of their lives.

This was a very sweet story. I thought both Dillon and Paige were great, and her children added a great deal to the story. The storyline was interesting, and I enjoyed the way everything was resolved. I thought it was a great contemporary romance! Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

Probably 3.5, but I rounded up because Tyler was adorable. A very cute short story with a very hunky hero and a single mom intent on making life better for her kids after their father died. The story messed around with time a little, making big jumps that kind of gave me whiplash because you would get a few days in a row and then all of a sudden it would be three weeks later. That said, I liked that Dillon and Paige knew (or thought they knew) what they wanted and that they weren't afraid to go after it. And I loved how Dillon and Tyler interacted. Completely adorable.

Porter always delivers a great love story and thanks to her excellent talent as an awe-inspiring storyteller, Dillon and Paige have a heartwarming happily ever after too. The Taming of the Bachelor has all the markers of a beautiful and completely unforgettable romance against the gorgeous backdrop of Marietta. It's hard not to fall completely in love with this book and I highly recommend it.
