Description

On a refreshingly cool summer evening in North Carolina, a hog farmer was stunned, then horrified when a light airplane crashed into his hog pens and erupted into flames. The ensuing FAA investigation convinced the small town that the crash was an accident. Except for one person. Ted Grant was an academic colleague and good friend of Dr. David Lanmore', and Ted knew that Dr. Lanmore had just discovered a cure for cancer.

Ted Grant's call was urgent and disturbing. Apparently S&H Pharmaceuticals had discovered Dr. Lanmore's secret and would go to any lengths to acquire the research. But would they kill for it? And if Frank meddled in the town's business, would his life be in danger?

To Know Good and Evil drew me in right from the startling opening scene of the plane crash and kept me hooked as the tension unfolded. The small-town mystery blends seamlessly with big pharma intrigue, giving the story both intimacy and high stakes. I especially enjoyed how the suspense built slowly, with Ted Grant’s suspicions leading to questions that no one else wanted to ask. The mix of danger, ethical dilemmas, and the race to protect groundbreaking medical research made this a compelling read that I didn’t want to put down. It’s the kind of book that makes you think while still giving you plenty of thrills.

Crash, bang, BOOM—welcome to small-town North Carolina where secrets are thicker than barbecue sauce! This book had me flipping pages like a speed-reader on caffeine. I mean, we’ve got a plane crash, a shady pharmaceutical company, and a possible cure for cancer—what’s not to love?! I laughed, I gasped, and yes, I might have yelled “Don’t go in there!” once or twice. If you’re looking for a thriller that’ll keep your heart racing and your popcorn spilling, To Know Good and Evil is it. 🚀🔥🐖

this was a strong sequel in the Frank Adams Detective series, it had that element that I was looking for from the first book. I was engaged from start to finish and thought the overall feel worked in the genre and was engaged from start to finish. Daniel V. Meier, Jr. was able to create this world and characters that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall c0ncept. I enjoyed how good the characters were written and left me wanting to read more in this series.

I loved the characters in this story and they were very well written. This is a suspenseful read with a lot of twists & will keep you enthralled. The person you’d suspect if far off. I enjoyed the storyline which in itself was frightening. Corrupt sheriff in a small town with many secrets, had me engaged from the first chapter. Great read for anyone that loves a great thriller. Thank you NetGalley for this ARC
